Questions & Answers for Murad Clarifying Mask

Question
Blackheads
I'm an African American woman with an oily T-zone that includes my nose, where I tend to get blackheads on my nose. Would like to know, if the Clarifying Mask by Murad would be something I could use to help with this problem?

This product definately helps with oil control! I have combination skin with an oily T-zone but this product helps keep it under control. I recommend using the Murad acne control system (Cleanser, Toner, etc) for you blackheads. The mask helps decrease redness, swelling, and visibility of acne but it does not make it go away. Think of it as more of a supplement to the Murad system, useful in combination but just alright on its own

YES, YES, YES! Use this then a Biore pore strip and youll be so clear and smooth! This REALLY pulls blackheads out and allows the strips to grab EVERYTHING!!!! Then apply an acne treatment like 2% Salicylic Acid (I use Peter Thomas Roth 2% Salicylic+10% Glycolic Acid) so it can go Striaght into your pores, THEN SEAL IT UP W A CLAY MASK such as Fresh's. You can sleep in that overnight or just use a treatment but I hv had SERIOUSLY AWESOME RESULTS W THIS! Just get ready for the rotten egg sulfur smell:)

Yes! After one use, my blackheads look SO much better. The ones on my nose are barely there, and the ones on my chin have improved. This product has worked like nothing I've tried before. As the mask dries, you can actually see blackheads being extracted! Gotta love it.

Its a wonderful product, definitely definitely give it a try. It does an awesome job of pulling out impurities, closing up pores (at least it appears, I've heard changing pore size isn't possible), but this stuff is incredible! Also, I believe there is a product designed specifically for the T-Zone, I'd give that a try and would be shocked if you didn't see a great improvement!

I would recommend using this after exfoliating your face and then leaving it on for a while at night, or all night. I wouldnt say it gets rid of the blackheads, but it definetly shrinks your pores and helps minimize your blackheads if you use it regularly. I would use it like 2 or 3 times a week, but no more than every other day. A little goes a long way and if you are using it regularly than I would spread it on thin, but you can use it thicker for those bad days. I also like to use the Murad T-zone pore refining gel after I wash this product off to help keep your pores tight. Another thing I would recommend is the Dr. Brandt Pores no more vacuum cleaner, which does help to clean out blackheads.

I am not an African American, but I also have the t-zone issue and tiny blackheads on the nose. I have noticed a slight decrease in blackheads on my nose, but I haven't noticed that much of a change in the amount of oil I produce. This does make you feel nice and tight and clean after usage and is especially amazing on breakouts. Clears them up amazingly fast.

It definitely will. I use Purity, Peter Thomas Roth's Acne Gel, and Ole Hendriksen's 3 Little Wonders and this mask is great with all of them. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and boosts the results of everything else.

I use philosophy face wash twice a day. I use several different face moisturizers. I switch around on face creams. I use this product (murad clarifying face mask) about once a week and love it. It has made a differnce in my skin. I had really clogged pores and this as worked better than anything else. I have tried so many other expensive products with little to no results. This worked after the first time.

I also have fair skin and use other brand products as cleansers, moisturisers, etc...but I also use this clarifying mask a couple times per week and an over the moon with the results. I suppose you never know how products will work together, but I would imagine it would be just fine. Snag a tube of this and you won't be sorry, its great stuff!

Yes - most Brand lines are not one-stop shops, though they'd like you to be. No woman's face will ever be completely served by using all the products of one line. I use a mix of Murad, Dermalogica, Dr. Peter Thomas Roth, and Philosophy, so you should be fine. :) I use this masque for problem flareups. Note, you should never use ONE mask all the time unless you consistently only have one problem to treat. If acne is your main issue then yes you can still use this pretty regularly, but you'll probably only need this 1-2x a month (maybe more if you have lots of acne issues).

I'd probably intersperse this with 1-2x a month to fight existing acne and prevent acne during hot summer months, particularly in tropical areas. Rest of the month, 1-2x, something tightening, lightening, or rejuvenating, something strong in antioxidants or Vitamin C.

I also have fair, combination skin-which leans more towards the oily side in the summer and more towards the dry side in the winter-and this is a wonderful product for problematic skin. I tend to use this every 2 weeks as a mask to keep my skin clear and acne free...and If do get a zit I use this as a spot treatment and sleep with it on. It clears up the zit SUPER fast!

Yes, it's worth the money. I just wrote a review that will take a few days to show up, but this plus the Murad Acne Spot treatment are my go-to items. They clear me right up - fast. Although gentle and natural, this mask is intensive and really works and lasts a really long time. It's thick, sucks out the germs, and you shouldn't feel you wasted your money.

You should definetly pop into a sephora near you and request a sample of this. I love this product and it has SERIOUSLY cleared up some INTENSELY painful cystic (under the skin) acne literally OVERNIGHT...but, some people can't handle the strong scent of sulfur and of course, everyone's skin is different and reacts differently to different products. As mentioned, the Origins Charcoal mask is also known to pull out impurities in the skin and work for acne, but, that specific mask has actually caused me MORE breakouts...so I can't use it.
Bottom line: IF you can, request a sample in the store and give it a try. I love this product.

I'd try a couple of cheaper ones first. I really only use this because it's part of the system I like. It's really nice and works well, but there could be others out there you'd like just as well, and this one IS expensive. Origins makes a nice clarifying mask that's cheaper I think-its black and uses active charcoal.

Hi! I think this is an awesome product. I have oily skin as well across my t-zone. This product is great because it really helps control oil. But I have to be careful to avoid the areas that tend to dry up easily. I would highly recommend giving this product a shot to see if it's a good fit for you. It's been great for me.

It helps, a lot. I have lots of blackheads on my nose, and using this a few times a week makes them a lot less noticeable. And it loosens them up so you can extract them more easily if you want. Using this mask, cleansing every night (no sleeping in my makeup!) and using a good quality moisturizer have helped keep my pores cleaner.
