If you have sensitive skin, I would watch out. Got a sample, tried it out. Burned my face and made it itch like crazy. Took it off right after I applied it.

Without a doubt Smashbox Primer would be the right one for you. I have sensitive skin and this product has caused no problems. It may feel greasy in your fingers but it immediately dissipates into your skin without clogging your pores!

I am a Boscia skin care user as well and I use the light version of the primer. I have sensitive also and haven't had problems with the light version! I have also used the original version, and it worked fine, but I find that the lighter version works better with my skin type.

I also have very sensitive skin, and i use the Smashbox photo finish primer. It is light weight and does not have any effect on my skin. It does flawless work and i couldn't live without it!

I also have dry and sensitive skin. It depends on what kind of effect you want, but I would suggest using the regular (clear) primer, but only on areas where you need it. For me, that's my undereye area. Maybe you need it just on your t-zone. Also - they do sell small "trial" sizes, try those before you buy the full size to make sure you like it.

I like the original, the light didn't work for me. My skin is also sensitive. and I use Bare Minerals as well. It's a great product, you won't be sorry!

I have super-sensitive skin and I also use bare minerals. This primer is awesome! Keeps the shine down and I even notice that I get less irritation from the brushed when I use this stuff. Try it, you wont be disappointed.

i have tried a few and i love smashbox photo finish. it goes on so smooth and it's not drying. leaves your skin feeling awesome.

I also have sensitive skin and tried the clear primer since I was unsure of the others. It has been great and I love it!

I do not have sensitive skin but I do have dry skin. The original primer works great for me. I haven't had any issues using it and I've been doing so for a couple of years. I do typically use L'Occitaine skin care with it.

I use the Pur line of mineral powders over the smashbox clear primer. I also suffered from very dry skin but have switched to a different line of products that now gives my face a glow and keeps it moisturized. I have not found Smashbox primer to be oily at all but rather just the right amount of moisturizer to keep the mineral powder looking good all day.

I really like Laura Mercier's primers. They are botanical based.

I think you might try Laura Mercier primer and/or Smashbox. Naturally, don't go for the oil-free variations.

I use the Photo Finish Foundation Primer w/o problem, do not find it greasy, goes on smoothly to soften complexion and all but vanish into the skin taking fine lines/wrinkles w/it. A little goes a long way; I dab it on forehead, between brows, at corners of mouth, under eyes, and blend in/out. I have fair, sensitive skin as well. And no, tried the "Lite" version and did not like it as well.

Bare Mineral Prime Time Primer will work wonderfully for you. If you already use their foundation, you will love it!! It is very silky, put it on after your moisturizer and apply your Bare Minerals foundation just afterwards. Try it, you will love it!

I have fair, dry sensitive skin (reddens easily) and have tried several primers. My favorite is Laura Mercier foundation primer. It is less "slick" than others, has no noticeable fragrance and dries quickly leaving a smooth finish. It's almost like a buffer between skin and make-up. Make applies beautifully over and stays all day.

The Smashbox primer will smooth out your dy skin and make your foundation look so glowing!! I am confident that you will love it.

I also use Bare Minerals foundation but I prefer the Smashbox primer over the Bare Excentuals primer. SOmetimes Bare Minerals foundations can add to the dryness of ones skin so I think that this primer acts as the perfect slip for the makeup.

This primer is very good and it makes your skin baby soft. My skin is combo/oily & sensitive. So I understand how annoying it is to find good products that don't irritate your skin.

It depends on your skin tone. First of all, I would moisturize and allow your skin to absorb that. Then you need to decide whether you want just the smoothing effect the clear primer will have or if you want extra adjustments to your skin:
Green: If you have rosacea or redness
Apricot (Blend) : Uneven skin tones/ under eye circles( I bought this one!)
Lavender: great for sallow complexions/ yellow undertones ( I tried this at Sephora and it made my skin luminous!!)
The Sheer Apricot is nice because it has SPF 15, dries clear and it is formulated to smooth wrinkles.

I always use a good moisturizer before using photo finish primer, but I have combination skin with some flaky dry patching and this primer still works great.

Apply Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation Primer after moisturizing your skin well. The primer is lightweight and non-irritating, and will smooth out your skin texture between drier and oiler areas.

I think the original would be a good choice for you. I would still recommend you use your daily moisturizer before applying the primer, especially since your skin tends to be dry. I have noticed that the original primer is a bit too much on the oily side for me, but I still prefer the original over the oil-free version.

I use Smashbox Photo Finish under Bare Escentuals foundation. I have sensitive skin and haven't had any issues with this combination.

Try Clarins "instant smooth perfecting touch" and even though i have oily skin when i get dry patches it really smooths them out for makeup. it feels really luxurious on your skin.

I've used the Smashbox Photo Finish UVA/UVB SPF 15 primer, but none of the other Smashbox primers. I've had no problems with reactions to it, but then I rarely have sensitivity to skin products. I have noticed that this primer makes the oily areas of my combination skin seem to become more oily, so I think it might be a good primer for you in that it would not make your skin more dry and/or it might stimulate (?) more oil production. I hope this helps you make your decision.

I have tried the Smashbox one, MAC one, Avon's new one, and Benefit's. My skin is usually oily but gets dry in the winter. I prefer the Benefit one called Dr Feelgood. Ask for a sample at sephora, try it out and see what you think.

I would suggest the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I have high-maintenance skin, which is dry in places, oily in others and I struggle at times with rosacea. Photo Finish Primer ensures for hours that my makeup stays not only in place, but does not look cakey, dry or powdery. I was surprised my troubled skin could garner compliments! :-)

My daughter uses Bare Minerals and loves it over the Photo Finish Primer. She always looks great.

I highly reccommend Smashbox photo finish. The silicone base forms a watertight barrier on your skin, keeping moisture in that could be absorbed mineral-based foundations. Sephora brand isn't bad at that price point, either.

I prefer Smashbox primer, because it glides on smoothly and a little goes a long way. It will feel a tad oily at first when putting it on, but vanishes into a nice glow on your skin. Hey girl, I am there with you! I use Bare Minerals foundation as well and was having the same skin challenges as you... until I tried Smashbox's Photo Finish! My skin feels smooth, looks fresh and Photo Finish creates an invisible barrier of antioxidants to protect your sensitive skin! An added bonus... your BM will look freshly applied all day, and I mean all day!

My skin is also on the dry side and the Smashbox primer works really well. I moisturize before I apply it. I also use BE foundation and it works beautifully with it. Just glides on!

I would definitely reccomend Smashbox's Photo Finish Light Foundation primer its made especially for sensitive skin and works just as well as the original.

I, too, have sensitive skin that tends to be dry. I love Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.. I did try a sample of a primer by Bare Minerals that I liked. I believe it's called Prime Time. Since it was just a sample, I can't say how it is long-term, but I was pleased with it.

I truly love Photo Finish but if you have sensitive skin, I would test any primer first. You just never know plus, sometimes it takes your skin some time to get used to the product. Luckily, most are available as samples.

You may want to try Smashbox's new light weight primer since your skin is so sensitive :-)

If your skin is sensitive AND red, go for the green. It helps even out the red in sensitive and irritiated skin tones. It might seem odd to add green but it works. If you're just sensitive without redness then Light or even regular should be fine. Light is best for oily skin to keep you from breaking out. I haven't tried Light but I have used the green and the original. Hope that helps!

Oh I love Boscia!!! I sometimes have dry skin (I'm combo). I would recommend the light and wear your normal lotion over it.

Use the original formula- a primer won't make any difference in increasing hydration- its more to mattify your skin, minimize pore appearance. Use Yu-Be moisturizer (available on this site). I have insanely dry, sensitive, oily, acne prone skin and this works wonders!!!!!!

This primer works great on dry skin to! I have super oily skin and sometimes I overdue it on masks and my skin gets super dry, tight, and flaky. After washing my face and using a "Persol 1789" sunscreen for moisturizer (best sunscreen you can get for yourself. Just type it in the search box on this site and it will bring up all the moisturizers for you.) then use the Photo Finish Foundation Primer after your moisturizer dries. Put on makeup as usual and if you get a dry throughout the day like in the Winter season I recommend Moisture Surge Face Spray Thirsty Skin Relief by Clinique. Sephora thankfully sells that here too! Yipee.

Smashbox photo finish original or light. If you're skin is dry this primer should help smooth our your skin. However, this isn't going to "fix" dry skin. It's just going to give you a smooth canvas for your makeup. I have sensitive skin and so far this product hasn't irritated my skin :)

You must use a moisturizer first with this product and most important sunblock. Use Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Adjust is the one I use for redness.

I too use the Bare Escentuals & I love the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I've tried all the primers out there and this one is by far the best. A lot of the others seemed to sit on the surface of my skin but this one is non-greasy, smooths out the surface of the skin & prepares it for your face color. Initially it seems a little $$pricey$$, but you really just need one pump (maybe 1 1/2) per application (rub it between 4 fingers -2 on each hand- and apply).

My skin is the same way. I love the Smashbox primer. Best I've ever tried

Smashbox photo finish is non-drying at all. I have combination skin, and on my dry areas, I don't feel it drying at all. I do, however, apply it after moisturizing.

I have fairly sensitive skin, too. I use the light formula and haven't had any problems.

I have dry sensitive skin as well, I find that The Present from Philosohpy is the best for dry skin. It's thicker than the Photo Finish, oil free but I always wear it in winter because it keeps my skin from getting flakey.

This product is fantastic. I also have sensitive skin and react to many products but have had no reaction with this! It is not drying to the skin.

I haven't tried many different foundation primers, but I like Smashbox's SPF 15 type. And since you can use it with moisturizers, you can find a nice, light moisturizer to use in conjunction. If you already have some purchases to make at sephora.com, you could see if they currently have any samples of foundation primers. That's a great way to try products (for free!).

Stila makes a hydrating primer. I have not personally tried it, as I am more oily.

You must try Photo Finish! It is sily smooth and non-drying. It will make your BE glide on even better than it already does! There is nothing more natural than primer and then bare minerals! You will love it!

I have sensitive and dry skin. I recommend Smashbox Primer, with a small caveat: I have trouble with it underneath my eyes. It does not irritate at all, which is good. It does seem to dry out the area a bit such that my concealer looks a bit cakey. I suspect I might need to experiment with better undereye moisturizer. For the rest of my face, however, it's fabulous!

you should definately try smashbox's photo finish foundation primer. its not to oily and absorbs fast, giving you that flawless look!

I also use Bare Minerals foundation. I use the Light primer which seems to work best at keeping my t-zone shine to a minimum, but the dryness of my cheeks is unaffected. A good product and they sell trial sizes so you can test it out before committing to a larger purchase.

I also have sensitive skin, and I feel that the Smashbox Photo Finish is perfect for me. I've used it with all different brands of makeup from MAC to Bare Minerals, etc.

I also use bare minerals makeup, and my skin is very dry. I use the original photofinish, and while I don't have sensitivity problems, I can't see it being a problem for you. I wouldn't use the one with SPF, as this might irritate some sensitive skin types.

I recommend using Smashbox Photo Finish Light. I have sensitive skin too with combo oil/dry, depending on the day. It fit all those situations well. I haven't used any of the products you are using.. but I highly suggest you try it! I haven't turned back and have used several different makeup brands but use Dermalogica facial/skin care products.

You may find this a little too heavy for your skin if it's sensitive. It is also fragranced, so you might want to take that into consideration.

I've used both the light and regular versions and I don't consider either one oily or greasy. I use this product everyday and have never had a breakout because of it, acutally I can't live without it! Just use a little, a thin coat does the trick and if you use mineral based powder you will never look oily in fact it keeps my makeup looking fresh all day. My friends always ask me what my secret is since I'm the only one who's makeup look fantastic in photos!

I also have an oily t-zone. I have combination skin and tend to break out with heavy moisturizers. I tried the pink primer with Dermaxyl. It takes a long time to absorb and is very moisturizing. I couldn't use a moisturizer underneath it because it was just too much. It felt a bit heavy in my oily areas but was very nice in my dry areas. I don't recommend it for oily or combination skin.

I'm not sure what is best for your skin type, but I know that this primer does seem greasy at first. This worried me because I have oily skin, but it really only seems greasy in your hands. Once you put it on your face, it is very lightweight and dries quickly.

I'd skip the Photo Finish. It's greasy, and I have the combination-skin dilemma as well. I'd try the Bare Essentials Prime Time it's fast absorbing, light, and lasts all day. You may want to try a good moisturizer that will control the t-zone issue before you layer on anything else. I use Origins Matte Science, and it rocks! Good luck~

i used the one with the SPF 15, it didnt feel at all greasey to me, but i dont think it would help out much with the oily skin, it only controled my t-zone for an hour or so...maybe if it was used with a mattifying lotion? ....hope that helps maybe

I also have oily skin, but while it may feel greasy, I don't find this primer greasy - it's more silky than greasy. I haven't tried the light version, so can't comment on that.

I can't answer for the T-zone thing,but I can tell you that it goes on very "dewy" and silky. Not greasy at all,(at least not for me). My face feels soft all day. go for it :+)

Oh Contrare Mon Frare! The light one works great (unless you prefer to have your oily skin get oilier, then break out). The light is water-based, not silicone...so maybe you won't get that initial as-silky feeling as the regular, but rest-assured, your skin will be primed and grease-free throughout the day. As for your dry areas, this will not make it drier, it will help with that too! GO FOR THE LIGHT!!!

My skin can get crazy oily in the summer and I haven't found this primer to be too greasy at all. Ask for a sample at Sephora and give it a shot!

Well, I have acne prone skin and I must say that the original Photo Finish doesn't break me out. I did try the light version from a sample I got and while I did like the texture alot more, I found it didn't make my foundation last as long as the original. While it did last a while, I'd say the original makes my foundation last about two hours more. It really does depend on the type of environment you are in (humid, dry, wet, etc).

I have oily skin and I don't use but one pump of this product for my entire face. The problem with primers is that people have a want to use a primer like they do their moisturizer. As, a primer is to be used in smaller amounts than a moisturizer.

So, that is why some people probably are finding this product to leave their face greasy. As, they are using more product than is actually necessary.

I don't get any excess oiliness to my face with this product and nor has it ever broken me out.

In my experience what you've heard is correct. The original primer is veryheavy and not for acne-prone skin. And the light version did not even out my skintone, or provide much of a base for my foundation.

After trying several different foundation primers I found a high quality skin moisturizer gives you healthier skin and therfor and better base to your makeup.

The product is kind of a gel consistency, but very lightweight. I also get oily in the t-zone and have never had a problem with oil when using this product.

I have combination skin with oily nose and forehead and dry cheeks and this light/oil free primer work really good. I haven't developed any redness or breakouts while using this product. it does not leave your skin greasy.

I've used a sample of the regular photo finish, but usually buy the light version. I have the same oily spots as you and knew the light would be better for my skin. I didn't notice a really significant difference between the two and am absolutely in love with what the photo finish light does for my skin without leaving it greasy and shiny.

I have oily, acne-prone skin too, and I tend to be really sensitive to even trace amounts of oil in my beauty products. However, this moussey primer goes on smoothly and mattely, and feel like vitamins for your skin. It's definitely a hit.

I have the same skin issues, and I posted one of the reviews saying that the regular is greasy but light doesn't work as well. I can't seem to edit the review, but I've since figured out that my sample and the full-size I got are *both* light, and the difference was that I was inadvertently applying a lot more from the sample size than from the big container because of the different dispensing. Now I'm applying a moderate amount regardless of the dispenser, and it's great. It's so great, people at a reunion thought I was my boyfriend's daughter.

I have oily skin and it works great over my moisturizer, under my make-up. I use very little of it as a little goes a long way.

The original formula primer is only heavy and greasy if you apply heavily; this must be used with a light hand. A dime sized drop is sufficient for your entire face and I have found that if you let it sink in for a few minutes before applying your make up you will have excellent results.

I also am combo- skinned and I use the regular clear primer. Always start with clean skin and you will never have a problem. Although at first the primer feels greasy, it isn't. Its highly mosturizing but absorbs very well so you never have that extra oil on your face feeling you can get from heavy lotion. I have the exact skin condition as you do (oily t-zone, etc) and I have to admit, the primer does feel oily (in a gel sort of way). However, in the 11 months that I've used it, I've noticed that my skin looks healthier, and my make-up, flawless.

I can't speak to the light version of this, but I also know that I have rather oily skin, especially in the T-zone. I love this product because I don't have the oily show when I use it and it doubles (for me) as a moisturizer.

Hey, I have skin that sounds very similar to yours, and I did not find this product to be very oily. It isn't made to prevent oil build-up, so...during the day, sometimes I would find that I have a little shine. I can apply some powder to remedy the shine, and my complexion still looks very smooth and soft just like it did that morning.

I would stick with the regular primer. I haven't used the light formula but I have the same type of skin, combination and acne prone and I didn't find this primer to be greasy at all. All you need is a dab and it works for your entire face.

The light seems to work well and doens't make my oily skin feel greasy, even after hours of wear. I don't think the regular works better.

It's not oily so much as silky. And it dries to give your skin an even finish and feel. I would suggest the Light primer if your skin is oily. It works just as well. But if you're still apprehensive, I would try them both in the store.

The light one actually works pretty well. I've used it many times, and I prefer it over the regular blend. It'll help keep the moisture balance of your skin, as well as make your makeup look flawless, without feeling gunky, sticky, or cakey.

If you have oily skin you might want to stay away from this product. As many people has said it cause your face to get more oily and breakout. Instead try the mattifying cream from laura gellar!!!!! This works awesome too. I use it on days I feel my face it a lot oilier than usual, and I have a nice matte all day!!! It goes on smooth too.

No! Its not! I also have a very greasy face and every day before i apply my Bare Minerals, i use the Smashbox Photo Finish primer and it is light weight and a gel, that is not at all greasy. It does wonders. I couldn't live without it! I also, under my primer, use the clinique pore minimizer because that doesn't cloge my porse and absorbs the grease for the whole day and i can just reapply it over my make up without messing it up!

I too have similar skin, and as a former user of the original Photo Finish (current light version user!) I think that both of them work equally well!

My skin is just like yours and I use the Photofinish Light and LOVE it. It is not greasy and it helps to make my skin look flawless.

I think the light works great! i've never have used the regular one, but the light is great for oily skin prone to breakouts. I have the same skin issues as you, and I can't see myself going out without putting this under my foundation.

Thr light didn't work for me and I love the original. I'm prone to breakout, with sensitive skin and have lines (I'm not 20 unfortunately!)..How much more fun does THAT get? If you haven't tried a mineral foundation, you might want to try it. Cleared up my skin, I use it with this product and it's a great combination, even in humid weather!

I have pily skin and acne too and i use the regular one with no problems. Ive found that part of the trick is to was tone and apply toner first, then a dab of moisturizer before the primer. If your worried about to much you can use a sponge to apply it. Also, if you want to add luminizer, the combo primer, luminizer in flash works amazingly for my light/ fair combo skin :)

I have very oily skin and it works out great even on my kind of skin tone the primer doesnt make your skin breakout and works on oily skin.

I have combination skin too and the normal product works for me. I apply it with a sponge and don't use too much. I make sure that it is completely dry before i apply my foundation or consealer. I hope this info helps.

I have found that when I apply it, I wait a few minutes before applying foundation as I also have problems with my T-zone. It does seem to mattify and my skin has been less oily throughout the day.

I don't think it's as much oil as it is the silicone that people feel. At first, I'll agree that it felt like something I didn't want to put on my skin, but it absorbs and does not leave an oily feel. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone also and I really like it. If anything, use the green one to help with redness and it will help you more effectively cover any acne. If you're not sure you can also try the travel size....a little of it goes a long way anyways... hope that's helpful!

I believe you would be safe applying Smashbox clear primer all over your face but with lighter application in the oily areas. You really don't need to use much. I also use a moisturizer under the primer because I tend towards all over facial dryness. I especially like how I can apply concealer under the eyes with this primer because it keeps the area moist and there's not tugging on the sensitive eye area.

I think the light version works great. I have oily skin and rosacea (and the acne that goes with it) and I love the light version of the primer. The original is just too greasy for me and because of the oil on my skin it seems to pill up like a cheap sweater!

I understand, the original is greasy but the smashbox with SPF will do the job. I have oily skin during the summer. The Smashbox w/SPF is not greasy, will provide the coverage you need and the colorless is wonderful. I hope this helps :-)!

The Light primer doesn't have the same chemical make up with the silicone that the original has but it does still work just as good. I use both and honestly when I use the light my skin feels fresh and clean even with my makeup on and helps my skin stay normal and not look oily later in the day.

I would not consider it greasy in the sense of an oil based foundation. It is more of a gel like consistency. It feels kind of greasy upon initial application but, once you set it with powder, it does not feel greasy at all. If you are having trouble with your skin the Laura Mercier foundation primer is more like an oil-free lotion and it works really well too. I hope this helps!

To answer your question: The consistency is very gel-like. You can smooth it on. And while the product might feel oily and somewhat slippery, believe me it holds onto product even in humidity. Cannot guarantee that it will last through the rain, but it lasts. I generally suffer from dry skin, though, so the lasting power might differ on an oilier skin.

I know exactly what you're talking about! My skin is exactly the same combination and I've used both the regular photo finish and the light version. In my opinion, I would go with the original clear version. You can actually feel and see a difference when using this product and as long as you use the right amount, it should never make your skin feel greasy. (A good trick would be to wash and dry your face before you apply!) I also never dealt with any breakout problems with this product. For some idiotic reason, I accidentally ordered the light version online and although it does feel nice on your skin, it acts as nothing more but a light moisturizer, in my opinion. I'm actually trying to use it everyday so I can run out and go buy the original photo finish. However, I have heard that people with sensitive skin use the light version. If this is the case, I don't think it's really worth the money.

smashbox is a great primer; however, may i suggest that you try laura geller's "spackle"? i found that spackle works better than any smashbox primer for oily skin. (i have a very oily complexion)

I think you might like the Laura Geller Spackle primer. The smashbox oil-free isn't as luxurious as the regular version. Laura Gellers primer is like pudding.

this product is not oil i love it i have oily skin and it makes it feel very smooth and soft and not greasy try it i use the reg formula

I also have oily skin, which was oilier when I was pregnant. I've only tried the original formula and I love it! I also live in a year round humid climate and this primer never fails to slick away shine and keep my foundation looking flawless!!

When you put it on at first it feels jelly/greasy, but as you rub it in...don't ask me how...but it changes. When it is completely rubbed in it changes to a powdery feel. The greasy feel disappears.

The regular version goes on light. It does have a little bit of a slick feel but it blends in well and is not noticeable after that. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

if your skin is oily dont get this primer! is feels very greasy on, and might make you break out!

I've found that Smashbox Foundation primer always goes on smoothly and really is like spackle, in that any imperfections my skin has is glossed over by the primer.
It's not oily...and even alone, makes my skin look better.

I tried the light because I had heard the same comments. It didn't work as well for me as I'd hoped. Tended to still get too oily in the T zone. Had to buy something specifically for the oil.

No it is not greasy, it is rather thick but not greasy. The product works very well for acne prone skin, my sixteen year old daughter uses it and loves it! Give it a try, at first the texture made me think of vasaline, but it went on very nice and did not feel thick.

I have dry skin but I don't find this product greasy at all. Perhaps these people were using too much of the product? I feel that it makes my skin feel moisturized but not greasy.

I use the original clear primer & I've also used the apricot primer. They seem to work the same for me. I use moisturizer under the primer & have never experienced it being oily.

I have somewhat oily skin and I am very acne prone. I have no issues with this primer. No breakouts and I tend to stay less oily throughout the day. Sephora also makes a great primer in their "tricks-of the trade" line with their anit-shine primer. Smashbox goes on smoother but Sephora works well too.

Hi, I haven't tried the original version - but I've tried others and they have felt greasy and heavy, so I was reluctant to try this one. But the light version is great - I use 2 pumps instead of 1 as I too felt the coverage wasn't as good with just one pump. I break out very easily from products, but this one has not had that effect on me and it's literally made my huge pores disappear - I can't stop looking at my skin! You should really give it a try.

I am 43 and have very oily skin and am very acne prone and I haven't had any problems with it making my skin oily. You have to give it a bit for your skin to adjust to just like any product that you use.

for you I would "spot treat" with any of the primers, using this product just on the tops of your cheekbones will give you a nice fresh look and keep your t-zone from getting and looking too oily. Primers are also something I would not wear everyday for you,just use them when you you need a little extra glow for a special evening or something. Seeing as you said you were acne prone wearing these primers everyday all day would be too heavy .

I have combo skin also, and I only have to use a pea-sized amount for my entire face. I just use less in the oily areas. I haven't used the light. I use a powder mineral foundation so maybe that helps absorb it differently, but either way I still like this better than other brands. If I use too much though, definitely can get oily.

The lighter version works wonderful as well! I use it in the summer months. You would love it. I also have combo skin. It is a different consistancy, but you cannot go wrong with this product. Definitely use the lighter version if you are acne prone. Hope this helps.

My skin is also combination, slighty oily t-zone, somewhat acne prone. I absolutely LOVE this product (I use the regular one). It does feel a bit oily when I apply it. So when I'm wearing it, I go easy on the moisturizer and once I put it on, I wait about five minutes before applying makeup to give it a chance to dry and blend with my skin.

Absolutely useful with mineral makeup. What I do is apply it after I moisturize and allow it to fully dry. Then I go on and apply my makeup. It makes my face look flawless. FYI I have combo skin and I'm olive toned. I use the green primer because I have some redness.

I use mineral powder as well. I prefer the Light primer because it is slightly mattifying. It keeps the mineral powder from looking too shiny. It also covers pores so that the powder doesn't settle into them to bring them out.

I use mineral powder too. The primer does work under the loose powder but my problem is that it took too long to absorb. If you apply the powder before the primer is fully absorbed, the powder will give you uneven coverage and look blotchy. Plus, it will then add moisture to your brush and moisture harbors bacteria. I do like this product but I recommend that you wait until it is completely absorbed before applying mineral powder. It's a good primer but I can't use it when I'm in a hurry.

Yes, you can definately use it under mineral foundation...I actually encourage it. It fills in your pores so your minerals look flawless...my other advice would be to wait a minute after applying primer (to make sure it is totally dry), then apply mineral foundation. If you put on minerals before primer dries, foundation will appear darker and a litle cakey. Also, make sure you are using the best primer for your skin-type.

I find that this is an excellent product when used under liquid foundation. I don't think it works that well with the "mineral products" all that well. They seem to slip right off,and it wastes your valuable stuff. I found this out by trial and error.

I LOVE using this under mineral powder. It worked better for me with minerals than with liquid foundation. It's a great combination

Yes! I use Bare Minerals foundation in the summer time and it works perfectly! I see no difference from when I put on my liquid foundation.

I wear mineral foundations and yes it is compatible with mineral foundations. With makeup primers, you are to use small amounts of it at any given time. So, you are to take one pump if it and place it on the back of your hand. From that one pump, you will take a tiny bits of it and dab it on the forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose. After this, you will then smooth it all over your face for about a minute. And, then after that you would apply the powder foundation to your face, okay.

Any type of primer will work for the skin. I happened to use the Photofinish under my BareMinerals and I loved the way my skin felt. I switched to CoverFX Primer because I felt that has more skin benefits (vitamins etc). But this primer still works for Bare Minerals.

I'm not sure to be honest; when I was using mineral foundation (Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals) I used their version of the product, called Prime Time (I think). This primer can be used for liquid, loose powder, or even the regular compact foundation. It works great. I use smashbox's halo foundation which actually crushes the foundation fresh for loose powder. And it works great.

I have extremely oily skin, and any product that contains oil just makes my skin oilier and can cause unwanted breakouts. So I chose the Light formulation; it's the only Photo Finish primer that is oil-free. Honestly, it does work to some extent for controlling oil, but I don't really like it. I hate that I purchased the jumbo size in it, because now I'm just stuck with it since I've used it a few times. For me personally, I feel like the Sephora Smoothing Primer did a better job controlling my oil, and it made my makeup go on more smoothly than the Photo Finish did. The Sephora Smoothing Primer also does a better job for me as far as filling in fine lines. It is oil-free as well, so I don't get any excess oil or breakouts from using it.

I have very oily skin and acne- I use color adjust (the green one) because it makes my post-acne marks disappear. I have never broken out because of this product, and I just set it with powder to counteract any oiliness (I don't really find it oily, its actually kind of silky and mattyfying when you first put it on). Later on in the night I do get oily, but I can't say whether its the primer, my skin, or another makeup product.

Try the Photo Finish LIGHT. The original will probably be too heavy for you.

For more oily prone skin, I'd suggest trying the Photo Finish Light. It's specially formulated for that skin type while still acting as a great primer.

I have pretty oily skin especially my t-zone. I felt like this primer helped me with my oily skin. Usually when I put on makeup, it feels heavy and sometimes it doesn't feel like it's sitting on my skin properly. But I feel like this primer helped my makeup stay put and not feel so heavy.

I wouldn't recommend using it as an eyeshadow primer. I use Stila concealer for that and it works great!

Yeah it definitely helps. I always figured prime everything that makeup was going to go on. However; I never put it directly under eyeshadow. (All mine are powder.) I've always lived by the rule: Cream on cream. Powder on powder. Which brand of shadow has an enormous impact. Nars and Makeup Forever are amazing.

I HAVE used this as an eye make up primer... while not claimed to be one... if you dab a small amount over the lids and allow to fully dry, does give a smooth finish for eye make. I also add a bit of loose powder over the lid when I set foundation.

I use it as an eye shadow primer along with the rest of my face and I've had no issues. It keeps my powder eye shadow going strong for hours longer than without it.

Don't use this silicone based primer on your lids unless you're hoping to do a unintended eyelift. Best 2 eyelid primers I've used from Sephora are Urban Decay's (UD) Primer potion and Too Faced's (TF) (plain and with gold glitter for sparkle). Staff is happy to provide samples and makeup tests.. UD's is in a wand/bottle so likely you can try it in-store. Best long term value would be TF's but I find you have to really make sure to remove all traces otherwise it's a bit irritating (itchy lids next day).
Potion is very easy to use but you'll likely use 2-3 of these annually versus TF. It seems like a huge expense but if you use it and it does the job, think of it as having good tools to work with. Seph has annual disc sales so keep an eye out and also save a bit more indirectly with rebate programs. These definitely get used before they dry up and if it doesn't work for you, Seph is good about returns. Note reviews say those primers does not work for all skin types so ask staff (instore/online) for help in chosing.

Yes, this product is definitely great for smoothing the overall appearance of skin, including large pores, fine lines or wrinkles. It's also an incredible value considering a pea sized amount covers the whole face; the bottle will last forever. With covering large pores, it's important to use a primer to ensure your makeup goes on smooth and even!

I have fairly normal skin, but I like the matte look because I use mineral foundation, which has a natural sheen to it. I don't want to look too shiny. I like the Light primer because it tends to be more mattifying than the regular primer. Also, it does minimize pores. The ones around my nose are slightly visible, and the primer does not sink into the pores. For your needs, I would try the Light primer.

I have T-Zone oily combination skin. It works really well for me. My pores are barely noticeable and my skin stays fairly matte. Definately lives up to the hype in my book!

If you have oily skin, stay away from this! After a little while, it will make the oil production seem much greater than previously.

I have really oily skin myself, and this product does help to control my oiliness some. Just be sure to get the "Photo Finish Light." The light formulation is the only Photo Finish primer that's oil free.

While it does help my skin some, I actually found that for me personally, the Sephora Smoothing Primer actually does a better job of smoothing my skin and controlling my oil. It's oil free also.

I have combo skin and I'm acne prone. I've used the regular formula for two years without any issues.

I also have combination skin. I have this primer in the Original version and it doesn't really do a good job of keeping the oil at bay (I have oily T-zone and cheeks). After about 2 hours, my face is like an oil can and my make up is melting off my face. I did initially like this primer but its performance declined after some time. I prefer Skinn Cosmetic's Orchid Gel Mattefying Cream. That product keeps my face matte (but not dry), yet my skin is glowing at the same time. It also keeps my make up fresh from morning til late at night. I never ever have to retouch my make up when I use the orchid gel. You should give that a try.

If you break out easily, I would use the light. If not, and use just have a little bit of oil, I'd still prefer the original.

I THINK YOU SHOULD BUY BOTH IN THE SMALL ON THE GO PRIMERS AND DECIDE. I PREFER THE LIGHT MYSELF BUT I HAVE OILY SKIN. OR SEPHORA CAN MAKE YOU SAMPLES OF BOTH SO YOU CAN DECIDE. I HOPE THIS HELPS.

I have tried both, and I think they changed the formula of the lavender one. I first tried it a couple of years ago and it definitely made a difference, but now it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I would go for the clear because it works with all skin tones
