You can use it during the day, but make sure you use a foundation with SPF coverage or a separate sunscreen.

I really like the Bliss line; they have an amazing peel!

For more sensitive skin try Juice Beauty Apple Peel. I've used both products and has great results. (They are both available at Sephora)

This will not necessarily peel your skin, but will help it become smoother and keep it hydrated. I think you should try Help Me, which is a retinol treatment, that may peel your skin, but Philosophy's Help Me with retinol seems to be gentle (on me anyway - a new person to retinol), it just might not peel your skin. However, it does provide cell turn over benefits, which will lead to skin renewal (I am excited about this!). I also would say try the Microdelivery Peel, which also helps skin through the renewal process. If not, glycolic acid can also help shed surface skin (retinol goes deeper into the pore). Hoped this helped.

I'm fairly sure that this is not the product for that. You would want to try Philosophy's oxygen peel line or the microdelivery? line instead.

Question
Too heavy for acne prone skin?
My skin is awful. I have fair skin, dark hair and green eyes. My skin breaks out but it's very dry. I tried the bosia acne line and my face broke out. I just recently tried the murad line and my face didn't break out but dried out alot. Now I'm trying the philosophy purity cleanser with the kinerase spot treatment and my face is still dry so I need a good moisturizer. I picked up the clinique moisture surge and it doesn't moisturize. I also tried the cosmedicine primary care and it moisturizes more but is kind of greasy. I also tried the korres yogurt cream and that didn't moisturize me either. Can you help?

It probably sounds a little crazy, but good exfoliation is key because you need to get rid of the dry dead skin on your face. Otherwise, you will just be adding moisturizer on top of dead skin. You just need to be careful when exfoliating, not to actually scrub the blemishes because it will spread the bacteria. Be careful when choosing an acne product also because chances are you are stuck in a cycle of drying out your skin and then trying to rehydrate it. Help Me by Philosophy is a great product to help get your skin back into shape (it helps with the breakouts and with the fine lines and post acne spots), just make sure to wear a good sunscreen when using this product. As far as moisturizers, when my skin gets really dried out, I incorporate Bobbi Brown Extra Oil into my routine. Although it is an oil, it really works, and doesn't break me out...it actually seems to have some healing properties although that hasn't been proven. Your skin is probably breaking out because it is too dry...this can cause breakouts just like being too oily can. You definitely need a balance. Try the Help Me and maybe the Bobbi Brown Oil...the entire line of Philosophy make-up optional products really are good. I use the Purity, HIAJ, Help Me (at night only) When Hope Is Not Enough serum, Hope and a Prayer (morning only), Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash (to cleanse in the morning), and a series of peels and masks (also by Philosophy). I know it seems like a lot, but my skin has never looked better or clearer. They have some great deals on kits too! I always say if you don't take care of your skin, your skin won't take care of you! Hope this helps...sorry it was so long!

No, you don't need anything else. This is your night cream. The only other things I use with it are target items like, eye cream or AHA to even skin tone.

I have bought the Phlosophy retinol capsules and mixed them with this product first, and used on the fine lines and wrinkles. Then I use the product by itself for an overall GREAT moisturizing effect on your face and throat area. Great for overnight, you really don't have to use anything else!!!

Hope is not enough is a night cream, while Hope in a jar is your daytime moisturizer. I have both and love them!

When Hope isNot Enough is more dense and I think much easier to apply and absorbs better. I have both, and the Hope in a jar is not as good for drier skin, it is a real comfort to a dry face and I use it on my hands also.

it totally is. It is definately for when Hope in a Jar is not enough! If you put it in your hands first or blot it on your skin and leave it on for a minute, it is much easier to spread around. Definately only want to use it for spot treatments or, in my case, when your skin is in need of repair or visibly dry.

Yes its suppose to be thick. You take a small amount between your finger tips and rub it together this will thin it out and then apply. Keep in mind "When Hope isn't Enough" is designed to be a thicker cream than "Hope in a Jar" If it feels too heavy on your skin you may want to stick to "Hope in a Jar" especially if you don't have dry skin. Good Luck!

I am going to go with no. Personally, HIAJ does not have a horrible smell to me. Actually, I purchased a trial size first and thought the smell was pretty bad at first. I eventually got used to it, and than I purchased the actual 2 oz. and for some reason it smells much better! (weird, I know). WHINE cream is more emollient and I LOVE the texture as well! After trying this, I actually like the smell better than HIAJ. It is more subtle and smells better, not weird like HIAJ. And I think this might be because HIAJ contains lavender and WHINE might not. I hope this helps. Happy Moisturizing!

The difference between this and Hope in a Jar is that this is a fantastic night treatment for your face. The key is to use a smallish amount and rub between your fingers first and that pat it into the skin. You will feel the difference the next day. I have used this for a bout 2 years now and won't do without it. Used with the Booster caps and it is even better. Best ever night treatment.

This is a heavy moisturizer so I would say it's good for oily skin if you are in an environment where you need extra moisturizing. It really absorbs nicely.
