Sensitive Skin
I have very sensitive skin, I cannot use anything with oils and fragrances. Has anyone with sensitive skin tried this? Any irritation or break-outs?

I have very dry, sensitive skin and have not found these to be irritating at all. When I bought them, the sales person (she was actually a representative for another skin care line) suggested using them every 2, every other, then every night...
Of course I didn't listen and began using them every night right away, but I had no dryness, tightness, breakouts, or irritation. The pads themselves are not rough, so they don't feel harsh on your skin either.

I have sensitive skin and have had no breakouts using this product. I do notice a sticky feeling right after using but then it goes away

I have sensitive skin and am allergic to certain chemicals. So far, I have not had a negative reaction, but I can tell that I shouldn't use this every day. Every other day seems to work just fine.

Yes, I have tried this and have not had any breakouts as a result. My skin is sensitive and there are a number of products I cannot tolerate, but this product has been great.

I have found it to be very gentle. My dermatologist recommended exfoliation no more than twice a week for people with very sensitive skin (I have Rosacea), so I use it on Monday and Thursday to help me remember. You might try to get a sample, or see if you can get it as part of a Philosophy set if you're not ready to buy the full size product. Good luck! :)

I have the most sensitive skin and I am very careful about what I use on my face. This product is incredible. It's soothing and makes your skin look smotth and glowing. I use it every night after I wash my face.

Is this good for oily acne prone skin ?
I called philosophy customer service and was told that this was not good for people who have active breakouts, yet when I click on the acne skin type section on the philosophy website, this product is recommended? I don't understand. Many reviewers have said it does not irritate and, in fact, helps clear up thier skin. So which is it? I have oily skin and very moderate acne and I was very interested in trying this product. Some advice please? Thanks!

Seems to me that the fewer products you use, that the better your skin is. This work great for me, but I only use the purity wash daily, these pads every other night and moisturizer. I used to exfoliate, do masks, use retinol products and too many more at one time. Simpler is just better according to some aestheticians I have spoken to.

I personally have found that using a gentle yet effective exfoliator on a regular basis works best for my breakouts and really keeps them at bay. Try once a week first, if you have no side effects or reactions, work up to every other day and so on. When I had really congested skin it was recommended I try glycolic acid to help clarify it - it stung and I didn't stick with it. But I am impressed with the mini-peel. If it doesn't irritate your skin then keep it up, but you may experience more breakouts at first because it's purging your skin. Try it out - if it doesn't work Sephora has an excellent return policy.

I have found that it improves acne-prone skin, because it mops up dirt and dead skin from your pores. The trick is to use it every third day or so at first, especially if your skin is sensitive. You might also try it in conjunction with a sulfur wash twice daily, and a sulfur mask once a week. The Acne Free brand makes cheap sulfur washes and a mask available at most drug stores. The mask really vaccums gunk out of your pores and makes them appear smaller.

I don't think this product was made to help with breakouts. I have tried everything for my acne prone skin and believe it or not I haven't had a breakout since I started using them. I spent so much money and to have a product that doesn't advertise to help with acne really help is amazing!

I used these nightly and didn't experience any adverse effects - no drying or oiliness. I'm trying out using these pads every other day now, just to stretch out the product. If my skin stays clear, then I'll stick with every other day. If not, I'll go back to once a day.

I use one pad each night after washing my face. Actually, I just use a half-pad each night, since these are large enough to cut in half...and then they last twice as long! They are very gentle and can be used everyday unless you have super, super sensitive skin. My skin is mildly sensitive, and I haven't had a problem with daily use.

I don't wash my face afterwards. I leave it to dry for about a minute and then moisturize well.

I'm studing esthetics in school so I can tell you that it take 6 months for accutane to leave your system, sometimes up to a year depending on the person. If your insure about a product check with your dematoligist they'll be able to give you the best advice.

I too finished a round of Accutane in 2008, and love these little guys. They really help to keep my skin regulated, especially around that crazy time of the month. Bottom line: they prevent your pores from clogging and acne from forming.

This product is unlikely to improve the appearance of scar tissue. You should consider an over-the-counter product specifically made to help heal scar tissue. Generally, these gels and creams are more effective on recent, minor scars. Scars from older injuries or surgical procedures will be more difficult to treat and may require treatment by a doctor.

Yes, to me they smell faintly of citrus. It is pleasant and not overpowering at all, the way the Peter Thomas Roth pads smell.

I have combination and mild/moderate acne flare ups...I use Differin at night for flare ups 6 days a week...use this only 1 day a week. And moisturize with Clinique Dramatically different...it works well for me. and the number of pads in the jar last a long time, so its great for the price! I wouldn't recommend using daily...work your way up to getting your skin used to it.

This product differs from the full Microdelivery Peel in that it has only one exfoliating acid (lactic) instead of the 3 in the full strengh peel, and I believe it mostly contains antioxidants instead to be more gentle than the full strength peel. The regular peel should have a more intense exfoliating result and costs much more because of that.

This is a one step peel that is not suppose to be rinsed off. Your use the pads like you would a Stride-X pad.

This product has more of a toner-like effect on the skin, in addition to the exfoliation, which is very effective considering that there are no beads or sugar granules. I also like it because It is also easier to use on the next and chest.
