I have normal skin and I find that it is moisturizing enough on its own. However, the winter when it's especially cold and dry, I will apply a small dab of my regular moisturizer before using Beauty Flash Balm.

Not a moisturizer, although it isn't drying either. my daughter with combination/dry winter skin uses it as a mask: then uses moisturizer on top with, or without foundation.

I have oily skin, so it does provide adequate moisture for me. Sometimes I do use the product as a moisturizer and it makes my skin look great!! However, the product is not intended to be a moisturizer. It can be used after your basic daytime moisturizer. I've even mixed a little bit of my foundation with it to create a "tinted moisturizer".

id say no.... its hydrating but i use a moisturizer underneath.... this product isnt intended to moisturize skin its supposed to give it a luminous glowing appearance, i personally use it as a primer for foundation but if you have good skin you can use it on its own but definitely not meant to be your primary moisturizer

Yes it is but that is not how I use it. I use it as an energy boost for my skin. It's hard to describe but that's exactly how my skin feels after I put it on. It's not heavy either. I press it into my face (don't rub!) gently, hold my hands to my face for a few seconds wherever I put it. I use a moisturizer in the morning... this product during the day when my skin is tired (again it's something you really have to experience to understand how it energizes your skin) and use a night cream at night.

I am very fair (I would say almost clear!) and it goes on completely naturally. I have friends that have much darker complexions and it looks as natural on their skin.
The actual fluid seems to have a slight tint, but the only result is the blurring. .

I use this balm in the morning to put a little 'life' back in my skin after a long night or when I have exfoliated a lot and my skin needs a little extra something. Although it's called a 'balm' it sinks right in and is not heavy-feeling.

You can use the product in the morning, after applying your regular daytime serum/ moisturizer. The product can be used any time prior to make-up application, or whenever your skin looks/feels dull and tired. Put a small amount in the palm of your hand, warm product in hands and gently pat and sweep into skin.
If using as a mask, apply a thick layer to cleansed skin and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. The mask will begin to feel cool. You can then remove with toning lotion for your skin type.

i use this as a primer for my makeup.... over my moisturizer under my concealer foundation powder etc. it makes a really great primer because most silicone based primers break my sensitive skin out and this one doesnt irritate my skin and it gives my overall makeup a luminance appearance, makes my skin glow without feeling greasy

When I'm a bit run down and need a pick-me-up I pat this on my face... not rub... but pat gently into my skin and hold my hands on my face for a few seconds. I don't wear other make-up so I just this and let my skin drink it up! A wonderful product after a long day! It really is refreshing.

The Clarins Beauty-Flash Balm is an amazing multi-tasking product that can be used as a moisturizer, primer, and mask. When using as moisturizer or primer under makeup, only a very small amount is needed. Apply a thin layer on skin, and immediately follow with makeup to help extend wear. When using as a mask, apply a thicker layer on cleansed skin (on it’s own, or we recommend mixing with Clarins HydraQuench Mask for an extra boost), let it sit for 5-10 minutes, and rinse. Your skin will be left feeling hydrated, supple, and radiant.

I have always applied it close to my eyes without any issues, not saying that is the case for everyone though. I use a Clarins product in a tube similar to flash balm that is an eye mask for the purpose you enquired about. Flash balm is definitely heavier than most eye creams/masks, so try using it perhaps sparingly as an eye mask and see how you go.

Question
clarins beauty flash
We always hear derm doctors tell us that an spf should be the last thing applied to the face. My question is in what order do you apply the beauty flash balm? The reviews and the benefits sound so good I was thinking if you are piling on other products over do you get the same great results from flash?
Thank you

I'd put the sunscreen on first, but be careful that it's matte or else you may end up too shiny.
This can even be patted on already finished make-up to make you look more awake, so in terms of non-makeup products you want this to be the last thing you put on. Apply blush/bronzer etc. over top.

I have used this product over numerous moisterizers, treatments, etc., even contours. I have also applied other things over it.
My favorite way to use is either as the top layer or instead of foundation, maybe with a bit of powder over.
I have never had any problem with how it worked or how smoothly it applied. This is one of the many reasons I always go back to this one.

Flash Balm then SPF 30. Also there are veiled mineral products that are SPF and don't affect the color of your foundation. Laura Mercier has one and I think those bare mineral lines do as well.

It is a light moisturizer and can also be used as a light primer for days when you are just wearing a bit of correcting makeup. If you ate wearinf full foundation then you must ise an additional moistirizer. This is a conditioning balm--more loke a treatment than a primer or moisturizer.
