I've been applying my regular moisturizer, waiting a few minutes, and then applying this over it with no problems. I was afraid it would turn out uneven if I mixed them.

It doesn't hurt to try it. You can mix in your hand a bit of both ( I wouldn't recommend mixing them in a jar and leaving it that way because the chemicals could ruin them both ) and then applying to the face.

I use a serum first and then apply the tanning cream, and then a SPF over it. And that works just fine.

Question
How is this for sensitive/combination acne prone skin?
Just curious if this is a good choice for a self tanning cream since my skin breaks out easily. I have fairly larger pores (I guess) and I tend to get oily as the day goes on. I get cystic acne every now and then if I try new products that have oil based ingredients in them. Is this a good choice? I liked the Hourglass self tanning primer-it didn't quite give me the color I wanted but it never broke me out, but I want to try something a little less expensive. Is this a good choice?

I have sensitive/combo skin and it hasn't made my skin worse. I find it to be very gentle. I'm careful about what I use because some products give me breakouts and this one definitely didn't.

I use just a dab blended in my own moisturizer. The effect is subtle, which I like. I haven't had a problem with breakouts.

Question
How do you use a self-tanning cream?
Forgive my ignorance, but I've never used a self-tanning cream and am confused about how to use this. I got it in a sample package and would like to try it, but need some help...

Is it like make-up and I apply it whenever I want to look like I have a tan, or do I apply it once a week (more? less) and it somehow changes my skin to look tan? Along the same lines-is this something that I would leave on until my next shower, or something that will come off on clothes and that I should wash off after x hours? Finally, it says I should only apply it on my face-will that give me a fake look-that is-will it look too much like a fake tan on my face if I don't have it on bare arms or legs?

Thanks for your help!

This product is not a tanner as such, it gives you a glow, take the edge off that inside all day look.....it is light and applied gently on face and neck, no yellowing and looks awesome. I apply it everyday as part of my routine and I always have that little glow. You could apply it at night to get more of a tanned look, but it is not like a self tanner, it is a radiant glow.

you can use it every morning. wash your hands after applying. i usually put it on first, then do my eye make-up and at that point i can apply moisturizer and foundation. its not a heavy-duty self-tanner so i haven't had a problem with it staining clothing in all the years i've been using it.

I use this like a moisturizer. I apply it at night after I wash my face and leave it on until I wash my face in the morning. A self-tanner causes a color reaction within the skin, so it won't wipe off on clothes one it dries (about 15 minutes after you apply it.) This self-tanner is very subtle, so you don't have to worry about a tanned face with a pale body, as you might with other self-tanners.

Yes, I let this dry for about 15 minutes (as per the directions) and then applied my usual Bare Minerals foundation. I have combination skin and didn't need to use a moisturizer. If you have really dry skin, then you might even want to use a moisturizer on your dry areas before your foundation.

This product is a light tanned glow, it is not a fake tanning product as such, you do not see immediate results.....it gives a glow.

this is much lighter, more subtle. no immediate bronzing/tan look. just a subtle glow and a gradual build-up for a light tan. i think it makes your skin look "healthy" everyday. for extra glow you can add a little blush or bronzer and control the look.

I use the liquid bronze and it is an instant color self tanner. You do get quite a bit of color - I put in on, wait about an hour, and then wash it off and -poof- instant glow! The Radiance -Plus does not have instant color, but it is supposed to give you color gradually, but it didn't work for me. I would love an in-between! Going to try the tinted mousse self tanner next:)

I usually use it at night so that by morning I have a little glow. The product is so light that I don't see why you couldn't use it at night and again in the morning if you needed an extra boost. But you need to realize that with any self tanner, you need to give it time to process color.

You do not need to use this at night, it is very light and natural looking, giving an allover glow, NOT a tan. I apply it in the morning on my face and neck and that is it for the day.....it never streaks or looks uneven.

I bought St. Tropez Tanning Essentials Everyday Gradual Tan For Body Medium/Dark at the same time and I like it very much. It's much deeper than the Clarins face lotion, but it is effective and not orange at all.

Radiance-Plus Golden Cream Gel is my choice. I have used both, the other left streaks and from what I remember I did not like the scent. This is definitely the better choice for softer skin.
