Try using a baby shampoo instead. It won't be harsh on your face or your brushes.

Try a makeup remover to remove the makeup from the brush. Then use the antibacterial soap, but only a soap that you would on your face, not hand soap! Rinse the brush well, and if you are really concerned, rinse with sterile water. Let the brush completely air dry before you use it.

i personaly use the sephora brush shampoo and cleaner. i shampoo my brushes every other day, but after each use, i use the spray cleaner. and it immediatley takes off the makeup from the brush. hope it helps

You probably shouldn't wash your brush with antibacterial soap. Baby soap works better. Washing with antibacterial soap can cause bacteria to become resistant to the agents that kill them and eventually, the soap becomes useless. Personally, I use Johnson&Johnson baby soap and my brush stays soft and I haven't experienced any breakouts.

for liquid foundations I would use a stippling brush or a round denser brush like the #57 airbrush. these seeem to work better for me when I apply liquid foundation

I have a Smashbox fan brush. Smashboxes brush applies little at a time, where Prof Platinum Foundation Brush # 47 takes alot of your foundation but is easy to control the spread of the foundation to all areas of your face in just a few strokes because it spreads so niceley and evenly.

I love this brush for liquid foundation (the bare minerals brush will not work well for liquid foundation application, though it does double as a good powder/bronzer/blush brush). I have used this brush with the Dior Nude foundation and was VERY pleased with the results. I really like this brush.

I do not clean my brush after each use, but instead clean it every one or two weeks ( I only wear foundation about 4/5 days a week). I either use brush cleaner, or when I do not have brush cleaner, I use baby shampoo (think johnson and johnson or something of the like). Mine has lasted well under 1/2/x a week washing for well over a year. I do not always buy brush cleaner and the baby shampoo works fine as far as I can tell.

I use dawn to clean it. Make sure the brush lies flat. You don't want the water running into the handle. Also, I try to wash every morning but don't always but I do at least once per week.. You do want to allow time for drying.

If your foundation is a liquid, this will work beautifully. If it is a powder mineral makeup, you need a kabuki brush to apply it.

hi! so, i looked up neutrogena sheer mineral foundation because i had never heard of it before, and apparently it's a powder? (if i looked up the wrong thing than i apologize). Kabuki brushes work fantastically with powder foundation.

This foundation brush is mainly for liquid or cream foundation, it would definitely not work with powders! I recommend purchasing the MAC 182 buffer brush. Yes, it is pretty expensive, but the quality is amazing and it's the kind of brush that will stay perfect for years and years to come as long as you take proper care of it. It is densely packed but still soft, so it picks up powder foundation nicely and gives you an airbrushed finish. If the 182 is too expensive for you, then any densely packed kabuki should work fine. i hope i helped you out! (:

I use it with a mineral powder makeup, both the loose and the compressed compact version. It "grabs" a really nice amount of product. After I smooth it over my face, concentrating on problem areas, I smooth everything with another brush - the loose powder version that I bought at the same time.

I like using a kabuki brush or all over powder brush for mineral foundation. I found the bare essentials all over brush to be too rough and the hair is too long for blending/buffing.

First shampoo and condition the brushes as soon as you get home because it will prevent extra brush hair loss over time. Then let it air dry over night and the next times use shampoo or gentle soap over gentle makeup remover on it.

I just use my Soft Soap in the pumper container to clean mine and they come out clean. Wash them at night and they'll be dry by morning!

Cleaning brushes is very easy. You can choose to purchase the bottles of brush shampoo or the antibacterial spray from Sephora, but note that with the antibacterial spray you would still need to shampoo your brushes at least once a week to prolong the life of your brush. The antibacterial spray should be sprayed onto a tissue and then the brush gently rubbed through it. The shampoo should be applied to the palm of your hand and then the brush swirled through the shampoo. When rinsing shampoo out of the brush, the brush's bristles should be facing downward and the stream of water hitting the top part of the bristles. NEVER hold the bristles upright under the water. This will cause water to travel to the base of the bristles and mold to possibly start growing, causing a mess of you brush. Make sure that your brushes dry on a flat surface on a paper towel. NEVER allow them to dry standing upright in a jar because this will cause the water to seep down to the base of the bristles and cause a mess again.

Make sure that you are using the Sephora Collection brush cleaner after a couple of uses. You want to make sure that use a brush cleaner because, it will help to kill bacteria and preserve the synthetic hairs on the brush.

I use Sephora brush shampoo. If you don't have it, Neutrogena, or any other mild shampoo works. Just squeeze a small amount into your hand, wet the brush and swirl it in the shampoo. Then rinse (repeat if necessary) and shake off the excess water, blot it with a towel and lay it so the brush is hanging off the side of the sink or another surface to dry.

You will not be let down with Sephora's brush #47. I just read the description and every time I use it I do feel like I am painting my face...but in a good way. Your foundation will be applied evenly. I absolutely love it!

This brush is made for application of liquid or cream products. Mineral makeup requires special brushes, I would get a brush made especially for mineral foundation.
