Questions & Answers for SEPHORA COLLECTION Pop-Up Travel Brush - Signature Black & Red

Question
This vs. cheaper alternatives?
this seems really cute, but i was wondering how this actually compares to the $1 ones they have at target or walmart. they are the same exact concept, except for different colors. how are these sephora ones better quality, or worth the extra $7? thanks for your time! :)

I don't know about the cheaper ones as far as quality goes, but I bought this because my daughter has had one for the past five years, carries it everywhere, and it still is like new. And she has very thick hair, and uses this brush on it all the time.

Yes its a way better quality! I have been using it since i purchased it and it still feels the same. Its not flimsy like the cheap dollar store brand that will break or bend right away.

I think this about the same. Maybe a tiny less likely to fall apart?

I've had a cheaper one which was given to me, so I'm not sure where it came from. It didn't work well with my long thick hair, and quickly broke. While this is NOT a substitute for a regular brush for me because of the length of my hair, it is a very effective and functional brush for smoothing my hair and keeping it in place. I like how it fits into very small spaces like an evening bag.

Hope this helps.

I didn't really like the cheaper ones because I have thick hair and the bristles & padding always pop out. If you have thin hair and those work for you...great. Otherwise it's definitely worth the investment.

i haven't seen the brushes you mention at wal-mart and target but I feel the sephora brush is worth the price. It's very high quality and sturdy. The colors are also very nice with the black and red.

I say absolutely!! It is alot sturdier than the target brand, and trust me I know with in one month I had bought 4. Finally I purchased this one and have not had to replace it for almost 3 years.

I personally believe so. I've gone through a myriad of dollarstore and walmart tiny brushes that simply didn't protect its bristles like this one does (keeping all the lint out of it from being too long in my purse!).
It's seems a tad crazy to splurge so much on a single little item... but I really do think it's worth it. I won't be changing out my brush as often as I used to.

Quality of the product is definitely up to par. Like most other gals I have a pretty large handbag with loads of stuff! This is very durable and adorable at the same time. It gets the job done and does not yank at your hair like some other products.

I'm not sure, but I've been using my Sephora one for several months and the plastic is still in good shape, which was my main concern.

Question
How compact is it, exactly?
I was trying to find the actual dimensions for this, or a size comparison other than "smaller than a normal brush". :-)
Is this standard compact size, but a bit thicker? Something you could fit in a jacket pocket, perhaps?

this would definitely fit into a jacket pocket. It is less than 2.5 inches in diameter.

it is a little smaller than your average powder compact, you can totally put it in your pocket. The brush flattens so it is a small flat compact.

It fits in the smallest pocket inside my purse. You could certainly put it in your pocket - plus it's a cute little thing and the mirror is great ! I'll bet you'd love it if you got it!

Definitely can fit in your pocket. Think size of compact mirror but big enough you can actually brush your hair.

I'd say it's about the size of compact but thicker. Yeah you could totally fit it in a jacket pocket with no problem.

Hi,

This is such a greeat brush. It's compact size, but thicker. It really does a great job for a travel brush. It's great in my purse.

yes it is the circumference of a makeup compact, but it is slightly thicker (more round instead of flat. I would say that it would probably fit in a jacket pocket.

It is barely thicker than a compact... which considering this brush also acts as a mirror, it's a 2 for 1 for its size.
Yes it does fit in a coat breast pocket illicitly. Or in your man's pant pocket on a night out without him noticing too much. :-)

You could certainly fit this into a jacket pocket assuming it was not a tightly fitted jacket. It is about 3 inches in diameter and less than an inch thick.
