This product does not have the same lasting power as the regular benetint lip stain. I would say it lasts a couple of hours max. It does last longer than a regular tinted lip balm however, so in that regard it does function more as a stain.

i think it has pretty good staying power (depending on how you prep your lips). I like to use lip liner on my entire lip and put this stuff over it. it usually lasts until i eat.

It wears off in an hour. If you want something longer lasting and more portable i recommend the pocket pal, it's the benetint stain that's infused in the balm with a dual end gloss

You do have to reapply. It is not like a stain or even a thicker lipstick. I probably reapply every hour or two, which I don't consider a bad thing. If you are looking for something longer wearing or higher pigment, I'd opt for a lipstick over this. If you want something more natural to keep your lips moisturized this is more like a chapstick or lip balm.

I am a constant drinker and smoker, so it doesn't last very long for me. I find the color will last longer with the benetint under it and this as a gloss. But the balminess goes fast

The color doesn't wear off as long as you use benetint or posietint under it. If you don't use the tint before you use the lip balm then the color won't be nearly as vibrant. I use it with posietint and the color stays and its great just the glossiness goes away after a while.

It's red in the pot, but it definitely goes on pink because it's so sheer.

It looks red in the container, but on your lips it kind of gives them a berry hue. it's not true, deep red on your lips. It gives you more of a natural flush.

Its somewhere between pink and red, Think Pride and Predjudice with Keira Knightley. It's very natural and no one ever guesses you have lip gloss, stain or lipstick on.

It is not red when applied-it only appears dark red in the container due to the product's density. When applied it is a sheer tiny of color that gives a natural rosy look to your lips.

I use it lightly, and get a sheer red that isn't bright, but you can apply more for deeper color. You can also apply this over Benetint if you want a really deep red.

It's a sheer red, like with most lip balms. It also depends on how much you use and what you use under it. Like most other posters said, using benetint or posetint will keep the color longer.

I would describe the shade as the color of rose petals if they would sort of bleed and stain your lips. It's really a wonderful pink/red rose shade that can be controlled in intensity pretty easily depending on the amount applied. I'm very pale with cool undertones and this shade looks great on me (even as a cheek color). This balm has a very hydrating, creamy consistency and I use it on both the cheeks and lips. I don't like the nailpolish type brush that the original benetint has so I apply this with my finger (or a lipbrush when using it for my lips).

This is basically gloss in a pot, so however long gloss usually lasts for you. But it's very easy to reapply - you don't need a mirror, just your finger & it feels wonderful and looks so pretty.

i don't like putting my fingers in stuff, so i use a retractable lip brush (the sephora one). yes, it does kind of put red on your fingers. i don't use this product on my cheeks.

The color doesnt stain your finger at all. It just leaves it a little glossy so you just wipe it off but once its off, the color doesnt stay on.

No, it doesn't stain your finger-it is not a stain but more like a tinted vaseline consistency. Once you apply just wipe your finger on a tissue or into your cheeks until it's all smudged off. Note: I wouldn't go touching your clothing right after applying until wiping off your finger because the vaseline consistency and rosy tiny would leave an oil mark on fabric-there is vitamin E in the product afterall.

Not permanently. Your finger will be the color of the product until you wipe it off but it comes right off when you use a kleenex to wipe it.

It does show up on your fingers, but juuuust barely, and I haven't noticed a stain on my fingertips from it. It's quite sheer and absorbs into your skin pretty fast.

I don't really notice a smell. If I stick my nose in and really concentrate, I think I can smell rose oil but it smells like real rose essential oil.

I very infrequently get a faint whiff of rose, but so faint it's barely there. This only happens within a few minutes of application and then I don't smell it again. It's a nice smell, not a bad one.

I wouldn't say it's super protective or hydrating. The color payoff is amazing though... you only need a tiny bit to get a vibrant but still translucent stain. It does tend to wear off quickly however, I find myself constantly reapplying. All in all I wouldn't suggest it as a "winter balm", it seems much more suited for warmer months.
