Questions & Answers for LORAC Bronzer

Question
Shimmer or Orange color
I am looking for more of a matte bronzer. Does this contain shimmer? Also previously I have had issues with this bronzer looking orange. Has anyone had this happen? My skin is on the drier side, will this be a perfect pick for me?

Thx

VERY shimmery/satin finish. Lagoona also has shimmer but with a light hand can be used to contour. I don't really enjoy Nars products that much. I would suggest you look into Guerlain Terracota Brozing Powders they are better quality and have different tones for different skin tones so you would probably find a better match for you.

Contains shimmer. If you want a contour or bronzer that is matte and not shiny try the kit by makeup forever called sculpting kit one. You can use it all year long and the it is a perfect fit for what you need.

I have always had trouble with bronzer looking "orangey" on me as well, but this one DOES NOT!! I use the Warm Glow, which has a bit of pink in it. It does have a small amount of luminescense, but I promise that it is the perfect amount..unless you are heavy handed that is. In my experience, it is not glittery at all. I just lightly sweep it all over my face. It doesn't even come across as bronzer, but wakes up my face and adds the perfect amount of warmth to my pale winter face. I can honestly tell you that I hope they never stop making this. It is my favorite of all time and I have tried them all. I think you will love it.

If you're looking for a matte bronzer, I would not go with this one - this has a very heavy shimmer / luminizing finish. For a matte finish, I would try Tarte (which has a matte, pressed bronzer), Nars pressed powder (in a shade like Laguna), or Benefit's Hoola (which is matte, but pretty dark). If you do not want shimmer, I would also avoid Laura Mercier's bronzing block and Smashbox (I've tried both; both are shimmery). I hope this helps!

I could see warm glow going orange on someone who is pink toned. I wear warm, but I need peachy colors so it's a good match for me. If it was orange on you before??

I did not find this to be orange at all. It does have a bit of subtle shimmer, however. If you want matte bronzer I recommend Nars bronzer, it adds a perfect glow without looking like you actually have make up on.

It has a definite shimmer, but not too much. It is definitely not orange -- more pink.

This bronzer is not matte. It has a shimmery glow to it, but not glittery. It is a very sexy, attractive look. I have dry skin, too, but moisturize it very well and want a dewy, moist look to my makeup. This bronzer does that and does not look dry on the skin.

It does seem have a light sheen/glow to it. It's not matte (not glittery though). I bought the Warm Glow shade, which is a bronze-pink. I use as more of a blush, and it has not turned orange on me.

I have fair to medium skin. I didn't like the warm glow on me. It seemed to darken my skin rather than adding light and glow. I would suggest you to try the glow one instead if you are looking for a highlighter.

I have brown hair and brown eyes, but without highlights in my hair. The warm looks great with my skintone. I like how Lorac is light but it gives you a nice glow without a lot of product.

If you have cool undertones in your skin ( pinkish or redish) get the Warm Glow. If you have more of an olive skintone (yellowish) undertones, get the Glow. The Warm glow has a bit of pink in it. I have sort of "neutral" tones and could probably wear either. Maybe the same is true for you, but I'd start with the GLOW. Good Luck, you'll love it!

Which color?
I have light skin with golden undertones. I also normally wear a creme or gel blush under Bare Minerals powder. Which color, Glow or Warm Glow, would you recommend for me?

I think that the rosy tone of the Warm Glow would be more flattering. It provides a slight blush that offsets any gold or olive tones in one's complexion. Since your skin is light, just remember that a little goes a long way. May be best to apply it with a big bronzer brush.

Go for the GLOW with your coloring! Warm Glow has a touch of pink in it that I believe is more for cool undertones and you definitely sound like you have warm undertones. Good luck...you'll love this bronzer!

I use bare minerals foundation in fairly light as well as their blush in I believe radiance and I use the Lorac Warm Glow. I use it for a slight sheen on top of my cheekbones to give me a more alive look since I have such pale skin.

I haven't tried glow warm... but if you have "golden undertones" then you'll probably want to go with the glow, since it is golden and the warm is a pinkish.

Question
Nars Laguna or Warm from Lorac?
I have tried Laguna from Nars.. and I love it but, was wondering if anyone has tried both and which they preferred.

Yes, I believe I have. Nars is quite color saturated, which I salute, but I find the LORAC less prone to obvious streaking when I'm not the early morning make up artiste I like to think I am. LORAC is diffuse enough, subtle, always gives good "glow" without being something you have to be really careful with.

I've tried both products and the color hues are not the same. Nars Laguna is darker, and has more blue in its tone. It's more of a plummy maroon-type shade. Lorac's Warm Glow is more of a sandy-brown rosy tone. Both result in different looks - your choice depends upon which look you prefer.

I tried both and definitely prefer Warm from Lorac because of the type of finish and the good it does for your complexion.

"Warm Glow" has a slight rosey tone. It can be used alone or over another powder blush. I have light olive skin and this is a perfectly natural blush to wear to offset my skin's sallow winter coloring. I do use this during the summer, too, though, when my skin is tanned.
