Question
What Shade to Choose?
I have light to medium skin brown eyes and brown hair. My lips are plummy-rose and I don't know what color to choose. Any Suggestions?

Hi,

Normally, I'd give a very specific answer with a specific shade. However, these glosses are barely colors, which is why I personally love them. If you want a lot of color, you might want to look at something else. If you want barely there sheer color, go with any of the darker deeper shades which will give you a tiny bit more color. If you're looking for full coverage or a more colorful, more obvious gloss, this would not be the right product.

I adore this gloss but it doesn't have a huge amount of color. It's not made to have a lot of color. It does exactly what it's supposed to.

Hope this helps.

Since this gloss is very sheer, I say go for darker colors. I have tried Grapfruit and the color was very close to clear. If you like pink/reddish shades of lip gloss, go for papaya (sheer soft pink), watermelon (clear pink), or strawberry (deep red). If you want a more neutral color go for apricot (melon nectarine), (shimmering golden copper), vanilla (pearly nude gloss), or (shimmering golden nude). Hope this helped(:

Grapefruit and watermelon are really flattering pinks. Layer with a stain to intensify the colour.

Try these: Berry (pearly mauve gloss), Blackberry (purple wine), Brown Sugar (shimmering golden nude), Guava (sheer rosy brown), Mocha (sheer plum brown), Sugar Plum (sheer nude plum), or Vanilla (pearly nude gloss). Also Grapefruit (frosted pink) or Papaya (sheer soft pink) may look really nice as an everyday color as well. Of course it's totally up to you and what kind of look you want, but based on your description these colors should go nicely. Good luck!

Question
What lip color is suggested for blondes?
I am looking for a lip color that is noticeable but doesn't stand out. I have natural blonde hair and blue gray eyes. My skin is light with slight red undertones but I do tan, so I am not fair. I have a few freckles not many. I just can never find a lip color I like. Thanks for any suggestions. IN the photo of course I am the mom:)

Hi,

Since this is a bare-ly there gloss made so deliberately by Stila, I'd say that you can go with any shade you like. Usually I'd suggest a specific shade but in this case you could probably use anything. This is not a full cover lip product. They smell great, too.

Hope this helps.

Question
Is this applicator easy to use?
I have not used this lip gloss before but I love Stila and want to give it a try. Does the gloss flow easily from the pen applicator? I am concerned because the Cherry Cheek Stain is difficult to get out of the pen applicator. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

It's very easy to use and these new pens are even bigger than the previous ones. Just don't overdo, or too much will come out. Have a little bit of patience the first or second time - I've found more comes out usually after the second or third time I've used each pen.

I love these.

I know someone who used to work with Stila, and when they where showing there students about the Lip Glaze they told them to click the end twice, and be patient. The product will come up within 15 seconds or so. If clicked more, you could rick wasting the product.

I like the built in brush, but the twist up applicator makes it hard to get just the right amount and I end up wasting some and it gets messy.

Yes, I found it easy and convenient to use. All you do is twist the bottom part and product comes out and you just brush it on your lips. Plus, product won't come out unless you twist it, so it's mess-free.

Hi,

Just so everyone doesn't sound crazy to you, the illustrations occasionally change so when someone asks a question, the responder might be seeing something totally different. Also, with the differences in computers, the shades and swatches can look very different in actuality than what's seen on the screen. It looks like any one of three coral based shades today, but what you previously saw when you asked the question might have been totally different. These shades are all very sheer, so will look much lighter when applied than they do in a picture. They're wonderful and made as a sheerish type gloss. I love these.

Hope this helps.

Don't wash with water, just wipe the brush well with a paper towel or something SLIGHTLY damp, like a makeup-removing wipe or abby wipe, THEN a dry rub with a tissue.

You can wash the brush and water will not get backed up into the gloss. If you are afraid that water will get into the gloss, wash the glaze facing down into the water...:)

Vanilla! It's just a milky white color- almost clear with a hint of sparkle (: Another great clear-ish would be apricot, it comes off as a super light apricot (really original, right?) color with little to no shimmer.
A girl has some really good swatches, google 'stila lip glaze swatches' and click on the first link, she has both swatched.

Hope I helped!
