Questions & Answers for Phyto Phytocitrus Color Protect Radiance Shampoo

Question
Do I have to start washing daily?
The suggested usage reads that you should wash daily for the first two weeks after coloring. I wash every other day. Do I have to start washing daily? Or can I just use it each time I wash for it to be effective? Thanks!

My stylist recommends this stuff, and says that you should use it for the first 2 or three shampoos after a color, then go to something more hydrating. She didn't say that I should shampoo any more often, and didn't raise any objections when I said that I shampoo every 2 or 3 days, even after a color. Shampooing every day isn't needed, just make sure you use it for the first few shampoos. (I use it to shampoo between the color rinse and the conditioning treatment, too!)

I think each person should do what works best for them, if you need to wash daily then do it but try to hold out for at least every other day so that your hair's natural oils have time to do their magic.

I don't wash my hair daily, I think the less the better with color treated hair. Every other cleansing I use conditioner or a little masque only, rinse and style as usual. I guess it depends on what your needs are.

Parabens or No Parabens?
You give it your seal and claim no parabens, yet parabens are listed in the ingredients.

Question
My hair is naturally wavy, it is short, and colored blonde. Please recommend shampoo and conditioner.
I want to boost the curl without having stiff, crunchy hair ( prefer a softer look and feel). I am particularly interested in the Phyto brand as I want to use products without parabens, etc.

Hi, I have damaged hair from going blonde to a dark brunette, and I loved Bumble and Bumble's mending shampoo and conditioner. I have curly hair and I found it helped my curls and my hair. If you are looking for a restructuring shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair, I would try Bumble and Bumble. I just washed and conditioned my hair with Cloud 9's products and I like the feel of my hair now. Phytocitrus shampoo and mask did nothing for me, even with 3 weeks of use.

For hair that is colored, I would recommend PhytoCitrus, but make sure you condition. I use the Phytobaume but once a week I also use (in place of the Phytobaume) Phyto's hydrating hair mask. I also don't wash my hair everyday, since the Phytocitrus is a bit drying.

Phytocitrus is best to be used for the first few shampoos directly after a coloring treatment; after that, you should switch to another shampoo until your next color. So if you've stopped coloring your hair, you should switch to a different shampoo. I use phytorhum in that interim period as my hair is pretty dry, but there's a bunch of different shampoos for different hair types!

If you would like to eliminate the grey/silver without coloring your hair, try the Phytodensium. It works for me, although I have light brown hair. I stopped coloring my hair around nine months ago. I now alternate between the Phytodensium and the Phytocyane (for thinnging hair,) and see no grey. Prior to using Phytodensium, my hair was around 30% grey. However, dark hair and silver can look beautiful. Light brown and silver, not so beautiful.

Use Phytotargent. It is specifically desined for white, gray or silver hair. Platinum blondes can use it as well. It should be used once a week to keep your hair bright and shiny. Paula Deen uses it!

Start off with the Phytojoba shampoo and conditoner. Both are safe for color treated hair and will help to smooth and hydrate. I would recommend the Phytomist to use as a color protecting spray. The Phytocitrus products are for locking in color but can only be used about once a week b/c their purpose is to preserve color. They don't hydrate. So the Phytojoba products coupled with Phytomist would be a good regimen.

Question
Why does Phyto get your natural/organic seal?
Your statement says Phyto "is formulated WITHOUT: parabens, phthalates, etc.", yet this product contains sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, and parabens, among other things. this is seriously contradictory & confusing!!
