A hair stylist taught my daughter how to use a blow dryer and hair straightener to control her curls so the strands lie flat and sleek, the way she likes them. My daughter uses this product to protect her hair from heat. When the Sephora sales associate let me test it on my skin, the balm felt like glue. I could perceive how it would help protect hair from heat, coating the cuticle. When my daughter uses it, she always follows up with her Chi straightening iron. She is delighted with how healthy her hair is feeling in spite of its exposure to the heat.

I think this product will work for you, but it does make your hair straighter with each application.

Does it straighten curly hair without heat-styling? no. But it does cut your blowdrying/iron time down by a lot and makes the end result much prettier. Plus I dont even have to use extra shine/styling products on the dry hair after I use this stuff. I use it even when I'm not gonna straighten my dry, curly hair because it still seems to make the hair silkier, shinier, and tames all my broken hairs/flyaways. Yup- it's that good.

This won't work without heat.

i have very curlyhair and and so far it helps all the heat stuff i do. Blow dry strait, all the bad stuff. I keep mine in the shower. I turn off the shower and wring out my hair with my hands and then start at the top and work down. once I get it on I brush threw with a wide tooth comb. I make sure it get my hair good and coverd and wring out excess water. I love it.

i have fine hair that does not like to have a uniform shape... ive found that if i use this and heat style itll protect my hair and help it be super straight but more often i use it and let my hair air dry and im left with super soft waves that i can twist into curls with my fingers even when my hair is dry. no stickness, no crunchiness. i love it!

I think this product needs heat to be activated. I would try Living Proof instead. They have both curly hair and straight hair formulations. This stuff did not work for me.

The back of the tube says that this product is heat activated so I dont think it will work without a hair dryer. In my personal experience with the product, I have left it on my hair and air-dryed and ive noticed that it feels softer and less tangled than normal but does not look straighter than normal until i blow dry. To help minimize the heat damage you can let your hair air dry until its barely damp and then blow dry your hair on a lower setting. I use the product in this manner and I get a very straight and smooth result-- even on my thickest roots that are not relaxed yet. I guess it all depends on the texture of your hair but I hope this helps.

Since this product is a non-chemical straightening treatment it lasts until you wash your hair and then it is gone. It will not permanently change your hair because it just coats each strand to achieve a straight style, but it does not permeate the hair to change the structure.

i do not have curly hair but it's wavy. this product definitely straightened my hair and allowed it to return to it's original state after a few washes. the product instructions do say that with continued use your hair will get straighter so maybe don't use it every time.

I have been using it 2-3x a week for the past 3 weeks and my hair still gets wavy and curly when I let it dry naturally.

My daughter has the curly, frizzy, thick hair. She usually likes it to be sleek, but she gets many compliments when she just washes it and tosses it on top of her head in a "messy bun" with curls overflowing. She loves this product because it protects her hair from the heat of her Chi straightening iron. She has been using it several weeks and hasn't noticed any permanent results; each time she washes her hair, it is a curly "mess" again.

ive found that it wont actually change your hair from curly to straight, it just makes it much softer and more pliable so that you have the option to do what you want to. if you wash your hair and dont use the product im sure it will be normal. in fact if you apply the serum and just let it air dry it gives your hair softness and shine but doesnt make it straight without heat styling

Yes you do not have to use a blow dryer for it to do its magic! I put it on my hair before I go to bed, wrap it, and when I get up in the morning I just go - no frizz, soft subtle hair, bounce and moisturized.

Yes this product can be used with any relaxer, it relaxes your roots to extend your relaxer without any additional harsh chemicals.

This works temporarily to straighten the hair that is underprocessed after using the Phytorelaxer. My hair was extremely underprocessed after using Phytorelaxer Index 1 for the reccomended time so wont ever be using it again. The Phytodefrisant balm can straighten your roots after you wash but the effect won't last very long and depends on your exposure to humidity and moisture. You'll probably start to frizz up before your next wash. This balm is good as a temporary measure between relaxers but I would reccomend going to a stylist for your next relaxer to correct the underprocessed hair or you might end up with breakage.

I don't see how you could damage your hair with this. it says to apply on damp hair, comb through, and then reapply so I guess you would need to at least have damp hair.
