I have used this with and without blow drying. It works fine either way. Just be sure you are only using a SMALL amount of product since it can make your hair greasy if you use too much!

I'd make sure to try to wring out as much moisture or towel dry your hair pretty well before applying.

Yes! My hair is naturally curly and this is the product I have been looking for my entire life! I just scrunch my curls with product in my hands and let it try naturally

For me if I apply it to wet hair, it provides more smoothness and shine than hold. I have thin wavy hair, and will use any other product I have on hand to hold the style. It is excellent at controlling frizz and dryness!

This product works just great to give my hair a little shine and to keep my curls in without blowdrying.

I don't know if this answer will be helpful, but I guess it depends on how much hold you're looking for. I basically use it to define curls and tame frizz or flyaways. I never blow-dry my own long curly hair, and I think the product works great!

Question
If I purchase the Styling Balm, do I need to purchase Phytospecific Beauty Styling Creme.
I have relaxed hair and am deciding to do more for myself in the new year. My hair is top priority. I have read reviews and am enthused about switching from Organics products to Phytospecific. The problem that I face is, if I purchase the Styling Balm, do I need the Beauty Styling creme as well? I am interested in wearing curls a little more than just my usual flat-ironed wrap style. Historically, my hair does not hold curls, will this product (or both products) help me?

Both products will help. I do recommend the moisturizing styling cream for daily use and protection from heat.

This product works great for moisturization. I think that depends on how dry your hair is and if you plan to moisturize your scalp. I used to have very dry hair and scalp and its color treated. I usually use the scalp oils that phytospecifics carries to care for my dry scalp and the styling creme to care for my hair. These two work pretty well for me.

I, too, have relaxed hair that does poorly holding curls. I only used the moisturizing styling balm. I have found it to be effective for holding a style for an active work day.

Question
compare to Phyto 7 Daily Hydrating Botanical Cream
How does this compare to Phyto 7 Daily Hydrating Botanical Cream? I'm looking to reduce frizz but not weigh down my fine hair (fine in texture, but pretty thick, few inches below my shoulders) thanks.

Just be very careful not to use too much. I posted a review here - and said, that as long as you use about the size of a pinhead, you'll be fine. I only use it on my ends, and I have fine hair which, despite not being chemically treated, still gets bad frizz at the end of the day. I use very little on my damp ends, blow dry it out, and my hair stays voluminous all day long with just a little shine.

I used this product a long time ago, for a few months, but kind of drifted away from it because it was not amazing. As i remember it, this is much heavier and a bit more oily. With the phyto 7 cream, no matter how much you put on it doesnt seem to weigh hair down or make it greasy at all. My hair, being completely fried, drinks it up and does feel a lot better with the phyto 7 cream, but i have to use a lot of it on my ends. I even upgraded to the phyto 9, which is a bit more effective but very similar to the 7. I go through the small tubes very quickly, but still I would choose either of those over the bigger phytospecific cream, especially when looking for weightless moisture. (personally, i keep searching for products with more added moisture so i don't use it so fast, or a bigger tube size; but nothing I've found has the Phyto 9 quality, including this phytospecific cream)

I would say yes. I have very course, curly, chemically processed hair and it is fantastic. It smooths and hydrates. It is very thick and heavy so you only need a little but if you don't go overboard your hair will not appear greasy either. Good luck!
