I also have fair skin and I didn't get what I would call bruises at the follicle but my skin did get a little irritated and red from the ripping out the hair action. It was temporary and it went away after about a day. I think with waxing your skin just has to get use to it... I only used a little bit of it on my legs before I returned it so I don't know about any other areas of the body...

This product works great for bikini waxes. If you follow the instructions in the kit, the wax will not stick to your skin, it just grabs the hair. You can give yourself a pretty 'thorough" waxing with this kit. A true Brazillian removes all your hair, that is something I would leave to a professional.

I don't know for sure - I only used it in my underarm area. I figured that for the cost of going to the salon, if I used it only 3 times, I would get more than my money's worth and it was pretty easy. It says it would work in the bikini area.

Hi there! I use this product for a bikini wax, however, I did try it for a brazilian and it was a little more difficult to do and a little more tender in those areas. Pull your skin around it very tight for less sensitivity. For everyday it is great but for a full brazilian wax I would recommend having it professionally done. All spas use different waxes and some are more gentle that others. I also use tend skin which is a GREAT product for ingrowns, I use it daily and very rarely get them anymore. Good Luck!

no, this is not microwaveable. i bought a cheap saucepan and use it as my designated wax pot. i place water in the pan about 2/3 up from the bottom of the poetic wax jar, and heat it slowly on low/medium low. i keep it in the pot as I wax so the warm water helps keep the wax a good temperature while i work.

The wax is already in the mug. You just heat the cup in a pot of boiling water to melt it. To keep it warm during use I wrap a towel around the mug. The wax will become solid again when it cools for the next use.

no, you can't put the mug in the microwave- it is made of some kind of metal. You have to fill a pot with water and heat it stove top adn it takes a long time for all of the wax to melt uniformly.

never heat your wax in the microwave!! they tell you to heat in a water bath (little pot on a stove with about an inch of water, just plop your mug in) but i found the easiest way to heat it and keep it hot is to buy an electric candle warmer, their only about five to ten bucks and then your wax can be kept warm while you need it, WHERE YOU NEED IT!! (this is key!) you just put it on and take it off as needed! I found that no matter how you heat it, it takes a little time, so i always put it on my candle warmer in my bedroom sometime in the afternoon of the evening that i would like to wax.

The wax already comes inside the mug. I heat it in a shallow pan on the stove and it should melt in roughly 10 to 15 minutes if the water is boiling or simmering.

Yes, be careful waxing the face at all. Although, there's no way to know what the issue is until you try different products. This is good for sensitive skin so maybe just give it a shot. If the issue persists, consult your esthetician or look into "threading".

BAD IDEA!! You need to be very careful in that area!! I'm going to school for esthetics right now, learning about waxing and I've heard horror stories about women waxing their bikini lines and trying to do brazillians at home- the potential for infection is really quite high. My advice: go to a salon. This product is much better for a quick facial wax, or even a leg/arm where the skin is a little tougher.

yes you can use this on your face. it is perfect for brows and even the delicate upper lip area. The "bliss" of this wax is that it "shrinkwraps" the hair without sticking to the skin, making it perfect for more sensitive areas like the face. It is also a low heat wax, which makes the waxing experience much less irritating.

Probably-just be careful and make sure the wax isn't too hot. If you haven't waxed before I'd go to a salon a few times first until you are used to it. Waxing yourself requires a lot of confidence-you can't be nervous!
For face, I'd actually recommend threading if you can find it. It's way more gentle and better for your skin. It's a really common beauty practice in the Mediterranean region, and it's catching on in the US. Some regular salons are starting to offer it, but its easier to find in bigger cities at salons with Lebanese, Persian, or Indian owners, employees, or clients.

I believe it will work quite well for upper lip area. You are suppose to let the wax cool so that it's puddy like and rip it off. This is the same wax used on me when I got a brazilian at Bliss. I would not recommend for legs.

The Poetic wax is used in Bliss spas for brow and upper lip waxing, so yes, you can use this on your face! This is a stripless wax (the wax hardens to becomesthe strip). The wax 'shrink-wraps' the hair and does not stick to the skin, plus it is a low heat wax, so it offers a much less painful and irritating waxing experience, especially for sensitive skinned gals. Be sure to read instructions carefully before use, and use the pre waxing cleanser and the pre/post waxing oil for best results.

Try threading instead-it's way better for your skin, and I think it hurts less and causes WAY less irritation. It's just harder to find but it's catching on.

If I were you I would go to a salon, and tell them you have sensitive skin. I've used it on both my eyebrows and lip and the rash I got was way worse then the few pimples I get from my usual salon wax. Also, it's inconvenient to heat up and mine didn't turn out as well as I thought it would for 40 bucks a pop.
