Does the jar come with protective seal?
I just received this product and am wondering if it has already been opened. There was no protective seal of any kind. Is this how the jar usually comes? Thanks!

There is no plastic band sealing the lid, but there should be a very thin foam-like disc on the top of a new jar once the lid is removed that must be peeled back to get to the moisturizer itself.

Mine was opened and spilling out. No protective seal but it is a great idea. I wrote a bad review just because of the poor packaging. You might do the same. Enough complaints and they might fix the problem.

I don't think there is a seal, per se...just a "cover" under the lid.

I don't think it does come with a protective seal. Mine was just a jar in a box.

My tub had a protective seal. I would suggest you take it back to the store to exchange.

I am a recent "newbie" user of this product, and I also received my jar without any type of protective seal, both along the exterior, as well as the interior. My jar was completely full with product, and didn't show any signs of tampering or misuse, so I am just assuming that this is how it comes... Hope this helps!

It's suppose to be lightly sealed. I have been buying this product for many years already and sometimes their lightly sealed, sometimes their opened or not sealed at all. Especially if your ordering online, sometimes the jar will tip over and cause a mess :(

Absolutely! I have combination skin and it completely moistuizes my dry patches all day. Very long lasting moisture.

I would not recommend this if your skin is "extremely dry". Instead, I would recommend L'Occitane's Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream, which feel a little more oily than Amande Firming & Smoothing Milk Concentrate, but it works great for dry skin! :-)

Yes it is perfect for extremely dry skin! Have a friend with the worst dry skin I bought this for her, along with the scrub, and skin firming oil. After using for a short while all the little dry skin bumps on the back of her arms and back were gone.

I am really dry as well...this was perfect for the daytime, but I added L'Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil to it at night....loved the combo of the two!

Yes. If your skin is literally cracker, I would get a bottle of St Ives and moisturize daily. It worked wonders for me.

It has a fresh, clean scent. It's a light fragrance that won't overpower perfumed or other perfumed lotion.

I would say the scent is a vanilla/almond scent. The scent is not too over powering. I think it is awesome. I have a friend that is very sensitive to strong smells & she can use this with no problem. AMAZING scent.

No I don't think it'd be as good a hand cream as it is for the body only because of the moisture and oil it does melt into skin but it seems like it takes longer for your hands so they might be a little oily or moist longer before it sinks in which may not be a good thing for hands

I use it as a hand cream as well as on my body. I love it! I even rub some into my cuticles too to help soften them. It will not leave your hands a greasy mess like some thicker creams do.

This is a great question... although i'm not sure as to the answer, but now I would really like to know if it contains parabens or not. The scent is not too heavy... i get migraines from strong fragrance, and this one does not bother me personally.

unfortunately it does. I usually steer clear of parabens, but this stuff is worth it. One week of using and my skin looks like its glowing and feels silky smooth.

Yes, absolutely yes! My face and back have breakout tendancies, and after I started using this cream, I don't have severe breakouts. I used to use 3 different products on my face and back, now all I'm using is a toner and this cream, and the end result is radiant and clear skin!

Funny you should ask...I used it on my face, I didn't read the package too well. ( I thought it was a big sample ) haha. Anyway it made my face so soft and satiny. I really loved it. I had no problems with oiliness or anything else. For myself I will continue to use it after my treatment, and if any problems come up... I too have combination skin. Good luck

It does contain cetearyl alcohol, which is a fatty alcohol. It is essentially an alcohol molecule bonded with a fat and is used to blend fats together into a smooth mixture. It is not a type of alcohol that will aggravate or dry skin.

No, it's not a replacement for the gel. I have both gel and and concentrate. I always put on the gel, then apply the concentrate to give my skin that extra soft and smooth feel. In addition, I did notice that my lines on my leg is fading slowly! :-)
