I prefer the original over the drama one. Drama clumps and isn't buildable to me. The original is truly customizable.

I have tried both and I really wanted to LOVE the Hypnose Drama but I found it to be a pain in the rear to figure out. Plus I found that is had a tendency to flake off under my bottom lashes before mid-day and I also had a huge problem with it clumping.
Hypnose Custom Volume, while not increasing my eyelash volume by 6 times, looked stunning. It created natural looking length, the volume was significant, and it had awesome staying power. It is actually the first mascara I have had to use a make-up remover to take off that wasn't waterproof and I love that if I am too tired to remove my make up my eyelashes are still perfect the next morning. It also held up well while I was outside doing some yard work. Another plus you can custom build it.One coat gives you the perfect daytime lashes and three coats gives your eyes a wow factor.I found it hard to get one coat on with the Hypnose Drama without my lashes clumping together and am still trying to figure out the brush that comes with the Hypnose Drama.

I tried Drama and it was great but only comes in black and I prefer brown. If you want black you will probably love drama - a little thicker and more defining than the regular Hypnose.

My personal opinion is the original Hynose. The reason is the brush on Hypnose Drama (to me) clumps the lashes together and makes a spider-y mess. The original Hypnose brush allows more control.

I've used only the regular hypnose, but it definitely has enough volume and length. A lot of my friends have said the hypnose drama is too harsh and clumps really easily. One coat of the regular hypnose is plenty for daytime in my opinion and two coats looks really dramatic. Go with the regular hypnose!

Defincils or Hypnose?
i'm a total mascara junkie and i'm dying to try either definicils or hypnose... i hear great things about both... i need super-length and curl, a little volume. i have short wispy straight blond eyelashes. any recommendations?

I love them both and switch back and forth :) You can't go wrong. I would say that deficils is a little more separating and gives a natural, even look without any lumps, very easy to apply. With hypnose you can add on layers and get a more dramatic look, but it's a creamier formula so it can lump up a little especially if you're adding on more layers. Easy to fix though, just takes a little more effort, but the final result is always awesome and lump free! :) Both of them give length to lashes but I think hypnose gives more volume.

I own and love both. Definicils is my daytime mascara. It defines and lengthens your lashes beautifully for a very natural look. Hypose is my going-out mascara. It adds tons of volume and lengthens as well, so it's very dramatic. It's as close as you're going to get to a false lash look without wearing false lashes. So in other words, it really depends on what kind of look you're going for. Hope that helps.

If u are looking for more length and definition definitely go with difiniciles. Hypnose is more about the volume but both are great. I'm a hypnose lover myself!!

Definicils is great for lengthening, Hypnose is great for volumizing--It's similar to Cover Girl's Great Lash except it doesn't make your lashes fall out like Great Lash does! Also, I have super-oily skin and teary eyes from contacts, and Hypnose has never, ever smudged for me--stays put!

i prefer the hypnose over the defincils, i've used both. hypnose gives you everything you want from a mascara...rediculous looking lashes, however it smudges at the end of the day. i notice it on my upper lid and right below your bottom lashes.

The hypnose is sooooo much better than the difinicils!!! Its like night and day! Definitely try the hypnose, the difinicils makes your lashes look long and spikey, as where the hypnose is thickening and "feathery". Its beautiful!

The original Hypnose isn’t labeled as waterproof, but I’ve been wearing it for 5 months now and have had no problems with smearing, smudging, or running. While I haven’t been in hot/humid areas, I have been caught in the rain and snow numerous times, and, as I don’t carry an umbrella or wear a jacket with a hood, the results weren’t pleasant. Even though my hair, clothes, and shoes were soaked, however, I can happily tell you my mascara still looked like I just put it on! This product is truly incredible, and I would definitely recommend giving it a chance. If you purchase it and it doesn’t last as well in humid areas, you can always exchange it for something else. Good luck!

Depends on what kind you use. I use Olay face and body bar and that takes off this mascara and the rest of my makeup completely. When I was using Dove, it didn't come off well. Using makeup remover is not necessarily more effective. I've used Clinique Take the day off makeup remover; it seemed to come off, but then when I washed my face, I'd get raccoon eyes!

I curl, prime, and then apply Hypnose in upward sweeps. I sweep upwards from corner of eye to mid point, then reverse brush and finish with the tip pointing toward those short lashes at end of eye. After that, I generally spend another minute going over the wet lashes with my index finger to remove excess. This isn't necessary if you can wait a bit until mascara dries, but I am usually in a hurry:).

How much volume you get depends on how many layers you apply. Do not wait for your layers to dry, just keep applying them. Make sure you wipe off the wand though first because it tends to pick up way too much product.

Start light and go all the way to as heavy and dramatic as you want. I have to use the end of a brush to avoid painting my lids with it (then I have to struggle with removing waterproof mascara on my eyelids!). If you have longer lashes it might not be a problem for you.

The mascara does NOT clump - no matter how many times you apply it. Thats what makes it customized volume. Apply the mascara.... wait a minute... and apply again. It comes out great.

Start at the root and wiggle the brush from side to side as the move up the lash, rather that just straight painting it on. close your eyes and then brush lightly over the top near the ends. Then use the brush in a normal sweeping motion from underneath to smooth out any excess product.

This or other lancome mascaras?

Hypnose - Custom Volume Mascara is the one you want! I've used Lancome's Definicils years ago & just dont remember that much about it. I think as far as cost goes, Hypnose is less pricey that some of Lancome's mascaras. Lancome has an awesome reputation in the make-up industry, and I have no doubt that all their products are good, but this mascara is GREAT!

Hypnose takes some getting used to because if the thicker formula. If you're not patient, you could end up with some clumping. But once you get used to the formula and brush, you might love it! In the meantime, have you tried Lancome's Definicils? It is not as thick and doesn't volumize, but it is a fantastic lengthener and gives amazing definition. Good luck!

I wore Definicils for ages. Loved the way it lengthened lashes. Then discovered Hypnose. It is most definitely the mascara to use for volume.
I have both now, and depending on my mood, wear one or the other or layer. I also use the Lancome lash primer. Think it is hard to find all you want in one mascara, but Hypnose with a primer should produce gorgeous results.

It really depends on what you are allergic or sensitive to. I can't wear Dior because of something in their mascaras that is irritating to my eyes, but I have had no problems with this in the non-waterproof black. I wear contact lenses and like the fact this mascara does not flake at all. It is also very easy to remove with soap and water, if you are sensitive to makeup removers.

I have medium brown lashes and I didn't see a huge difference from the two blacks, but I felt like the deep black did stand out a bit more. I think it depends on your natural lash color. I would definately recommend going in to a Sephora and try one on each eye. Then you can see what is best for your skin tone.
