My eyes are somewhat sensitive but I wear daily contacts b/ of my need for moisture and this hasn't had any negative effect on my eyes, contacts or sensitivity at all!

I haven't used the tubing mascaras that you mentioned but I have used another kind. My daughter didn't close the primer part of mine so I used this primer with my tubing mascara with great results.

I have the smashbox and use it with my Buxom mascara. This one is cheaper but I am totally in love with it. I don't ever skip a day without this under my mascara. It has made my eyelashes longer and fully with the conditioning serum, since I had thin eyelashes to begin with. I love this for everyday use. It holds my mascara on great. No raccoon eyes, even during my track workouts, it keeps my mascara on! Which I was worried about when I ordered it. I defiantly would recommend this to you.

go to the store and use try one on one eye, and one on the other. bring your own mascara so you know how each reacts with what you already have. (have a contest LOL)

i personally prefer administering the "accidentally scratching my eye test" and see which one will hold better with an accidental scratch.

note that people have a different reaction per product, so its best that you see how it reacts to you, not to other people.

Smashbox

For me, the Clinique lash primer does not curl your lashes but makes them stick almost straight up, like an L if applied from the roots to the tip of my lashes but this really makes my short lashes appear long. Once I apply mascara on top of that, they look unreal: thick, volumized. I can't say they look false because they're not SUPER long (only because I have short lashes). The Smashbox one curls a lot nicer (it looks prettier) and my lashes look more like the curvey part of a candy cane instead. I like the Smashbox brush better because I find it easier to get my lashes the way I want them to curl. The Clinique lash primer gives so much volume, more than the Smashbox one, but I'd rather have nicely curled lashes and wear a good mascara on top instead.

So if you like dramatic eyes, I'd reccommend the Clinique lash primer but if not, Smashbox is much better. They're both great primers and if you do have a chance, try them both on... maybe one on each eye because it's a matter of preference and the length of your eyelashes you happen to have.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't. I've used a few types of overnight lash conditioners and they didn't dry as stiff as this primer. I know it has some good stuff in it but it's still makeup. I think it might protect against some of the harsher ingredients in regular mascara but if you wear it while sleeping and say rub your face on your pillow I would think that your lashes would fall out easier from being stiff. Try a softer lash conditioner thats meant for the purpose.
