this product is NOT designed for the eye area - exfoliation is not recommended for the eye as the skin is already so thin. This could casue irritation, and will not hydrate the eye (this is not a moisturizer).

I would not use it around your eyes because of the exfoliating acids. It will probably irritate the eye area.

Well, I have dry skin around my eyes, however, I find that I do need a seperate cream for my eyes. The Skin Rev-er Upper didn't really moisturize my eye area as much as I thought it would have.

skin rev-er upper is great but it sounds like you need an additional product. I use a second SPF moisturizer on top of skin rev-er upper (I have very fair skin, need all the protection I can get) and it works just fine. Skin rev-er upper is so light, you can definitely use something on top of it.

Question
skin rev-er upper or primer
I just purchased a Bare Escentuals ID kit and included in it is a primer. In my daughter's case she received rev-er upper. Which one do I need and what do each of them do? I also purchased "well rested" thinking it was for dark circles and it's not. I don't need it for upper eyes - is there anything else I can do withs it?

This is more of a moisturizer than a primer. I use this, allow it to dry and then use the Prime Time as my primer before putting on my foundation.

I would just use the prime time face primer, with no skin rev-er upper because the prime time does not contain parabens or petro chemicals, which the skin rev-er upper does contain.

answer 3
The primer is supposed to "prime" your skin your makeup application to help endure the day ahead, the Skin Rev-er Upper has actual vitamins in it as well as primes the skin for makeup application. I use the Skin Rev-er Upper in place of moisturizer whether I put make up on or not. I also have a bottle of primer that I use only when I wear makeup it gives my skin an even matted pallet for my makeup. Hope I was helpful!!!

The primer holds the foundation. The skin rev-er upper smooths your skin for a more flawless look. Well rested can be used for the under eye. I use Bisque as a concealer then top it off with Well Rested to brighten the under eye.

It didn't do a whole lot for me. My skin got worse after using bare minerals but I didn't know if it was from the makeup or the rev-er upper (since I bought the kit and used them together). Sorry!

I also got the kit and got the rev-er upper. I actually would have liked the primer better. Primers usually take away fine lines and make your makeup stay on better. I am not thrilled with the rev-er upper other then it makes the face not so dry but doesn't make any difference when I apply makeup. Stick with the primer for sure ;)

Yes, I used to use this as a multi-vitamin night "lotion." Sometimes I would put moisturizer over it, but usually didn't need it. I've since switched to morning, but there's no reason you have to put anything over it. It's meant to be a skin treament.

sure, but it's just going to be like wearing a light moisturizer alone. I prefer to wear spf and foundation over it. So, if you don't need the coverage, have at it!

Sure, you can always use moisturizer with or without makeup. However, this product is not tinted, no it's not going to give you any kind of coverage.

Question
Does bareVitamins contain parabens?
Breast cancer runs in my family, so we all try to avoid parabens and we're pleased to see that most of your products don't contain them. My current bottle DOES contain parabens and I was wondering if this has changed.

No, the formula hasn't changed so it still does contain parabens. Most of the bare escentuals products do not contain parabens, however all of the "rev-er uppers" (the skin rev-er upper, eye rev-er upper, and lip rev-er upper) do contain parabens.

I would use it under my moisturizer because you want the acids to exfoliate the skin. I would also use a moisturizer (w/ SPF) on top b/c the acids + sun can irritate your skin

i use this product as a light moisturizer prior to applying primetime. the rev-er upper seems to bring an instant glow on application. and the prime time smooths everything out for your foundation application.

I also use both. The skin rev-er upper I use daily right after I cleanse. I only use the prime time before applying the foundation. They have different uses for me the prime time controls the oily shine I often get while wearing foundation. The mineral veil will do the same thing if you are willing to reapply as needed during the day or if you are willing to apply the mineral veil both before and after you apply the foundation. If cost became a concern for me I'd definitely give up the prime time in favor or the rev-er upper because the mineral veil provides the same oil control function for my skin.

I just use the primer. Although I loved the skin revver upper I realized that the product contains parabens and my husband has a skin allergy to parabens so I had to stop using it. But I use the primer alone and I think it helps keep my face looking less oily, and I guess it is helping to keep my BE make-up in place.

The Rev-er Upper is not a primer, it's more of a gentle exfoliator for your face. The Prime Time is a primer that smoothes everything out and preps your skin for a more even foundation application. I usually apply Rev-er Upper, then moisturizer, then Prime Time.

I used this as my primary moisturizer without any problems. It is very important that you realize this does not have SPF though. If your foundation doesn't contain SPF, I strongly recommend you use an SPF moisturizer on top of this.
