for dry skin, i would recommend you use make up forever's hd powder instead. this is great if you need an oil absorbing finish. but the hd powder is very fine and light (doesn't absorb oil well) but will work great with dry skin.

I have very very dry skin. I can use mineral make-up with a moisturizer and a primer. It can look chalky. It's just not ideal IMHO. I'm not crazy about fluid make-up but it seems to be the best way to go when you have dry skin. Hope that helps.

Absolutely! I have over-50 dry skin (58 to be exact), and I believe a light touch of mineral veil actually gives the illusion of a creamier complexion and does not accentuate dryness. A little goes a long way - and I do no use it on my cheeks where the skin is the most dry - but on my forehead, nose, and chin area. Use a fluffy brush and tap excess off the brush before lightly applying.

I would most definitely think so. Though Mineral Veil controls oily skin, it's also just a good topper for your other makeup. When used as a top layer, it smooths everything else out. It doesn't dry skin out per se. So I would say go ahead and give it a shot; I think you'll be very satisfied!

Well, I feel that it would be okay to use, just make sure that you moisturize and apply primer before applying any makeup products. And, be sure to only apply the Mineral Veil sparingly to keep it from potentially drying out your skin okay.

I see no reason why you couldn't use this product. If you use either the primer that comes with the starter kit or even just a moisturizing lotion before application, you shouldn't have a problem getting a nice finish. Start out scarce and then work your way into it.

I would say yes because it's so translucent and light that it won't cake on and enhance dry/flaky skin. It is very natural and soft and it might help the texture of your skin because it leaves a silky soft sheen when you put it on. I have very oily skin so I might not be the best person to ask though. =)

For a wedding, I would try the veil with shimmer to give yourself that extra "ethereal" look. It won't add any extra colour, but it will add a soft focus effect to your look and blur your lines for photos.

if you dont like a lot of shimmer, then go with the normal veil. if you do want a slight shimmer, then go with the feather light. If your weddin gis outside during the day, I would go with the normail veil, if it is at night, then the feather light. hope this helps.

Try "feather light". It doesn't have any color, but it has a soft glow that doesn't look like you're oily and it won't change color, look chalky or turn orange. It's great for pictures because it gives you a "soft focus" look.

Because Mineral Veil is translucent, it really doesn't matter what shade you choose. It basically just melts onto your skin, takes a little shine off and helps you look a little more finished. Hope this helps!

i used the medium beige in bare mineral and in the mineral veil i used the completely sheer one. the completely sheer one tend to be universal for all skin types.i like to used the mineral veil before the foundation to absorb the oil from the start and through out the day i used blot paper to absorb any excess oil.i been meaning to try the tinted mineral veil for summer but havent yet. since i tend to tan a lil bit during that time of the year.

You want tinted. I wear Fairly Light mixed with Light in the winter, and Light foundation in summer. If I get dark enough in August, I have to go to Medium Beige mixed with Light. And over it all, from May until November, Tinted Mineral Veil.

As light as my skin is, with your tone, you can safely purchse Tinted Mineral Veil knowing you will USE it.

Good Luck!

To help combat oil, I use regular mineral veil first before applying the foundation. Then I use either regular or tinted mid-day and before going out to help create a matte look. Tinted is good for maintaining your foundation color and regular helps even out and blend when you don't want to add more foundation.

I use the medium beige foundation myself. I am a true believer in the mineral veil # 42945. This is what I would do; go to your favorite Sephora and one of their beauty experts to help match you best. Mineral veil is very light and only emphasizes the beautiful parts and hides what you want hidden. If your lucky enough to have a Bare Essentials store near you, they can help you out as well. But visit Sephora first, I have been to both and love my experiences at Sephora much more than BE stores. Good Luck!

When I want to go lighter (more of a no make-up look), I just use the Mineral Veil, it adds a nice light finish to the face.

Mineral Veil is not waterproof. however, to make your application last longer, try using a make-up primer underneath your powder. you could also try a light misting of a make-up setting spray such as Make Up Forever's Mist and Fix. Sephora also makes a setting spray called 'Setting Mist.' products like this are what stage actors use to hold their makeup on while performing; they usually perspire under the lights and these sprays help. I would start by using a LIGHT misting holding the bottle about a foot away from your face. this should help to hold your powder until your next application.

The luminous Mineral Veil is fine for oily skin. It makes your skin look dewy all day long. A suggestion... use an oil free moisturizer after cleansing your face and before applying the Mineral Veil. Most people think a moisturizer is unnecessary if they have oily skin. That is not true. Emphasize - OIL FREE moisturizer!

I had not noticed this smell in my product before. I have a baby and I do get my fill of the baby powder scent and I have not noticed it coming from my mineral veil. You might want to check with whom you received this from, or compare it to the MV you would get from a direct source like sephora.

I've purchased Mineral Veil many times as well as other BE products, and never have I noticed any odd scent, or any scent at all for that matter. I suggest you do not use this just in case, and in the future purchase this or any other makeup or skincare product from a reputible retailer (like Sephora), that way you know that you are getting authentic product, also should you feel you received something of inferior quality you can exchange it or get your $$ back.
