Yes! Yes! Yes! I have very dry skin and found this product to be a God-send. Powders are best for dry skin. You'll see your skin actually improve with use of this powder.

for dry skin, i would recommend you use make up forever's hd powder instead. this is great if you need an oil absorbing finish. but the hd powder is very fine and light (doesn't absorb oil well) but will work great with dry skin.

I occassionaly have semi-dry skin, and this make up is the best I've tried with dry skin. It doesn't make it more noticeable, but doesn't 100% hide it.

I have very very dry skin. I can use mineral make-up with a moisturizer and a primer. It can look chalky. It's just not ideal IMHO. I'm not crazy about fluid make-up but it seems to be the best way to go when you have dry skin. Hope that helps.

I would recommend it even for drier skins. I have combination skin in the warm weather, dry in the winter and I get the same results year round.

I think you can use this product with any skin type... I have never noticed any bare minerals products to be drying to my skin. The owner says they are good for your skin and you can even sleep in them! (not that i'd recommend it...)

Absolutely! I have over-50 dry skin (58 to be exact), and I believe a light touch of mineral veil actually gives the illusion of a creamier complexion and does not accentuate dryness. A little goes a long way - and I do no use it on my cheeks where the skin is the most dry - but on my forehead, nose, and chin area. Use a fluffy brush and tap excess off the brush before lightly applying.

I would most definitely think so. Though Mineral Veil controls oily skin, it's also just a good topper for your other makeup. When used as a top layer, it smooths everything else out. It doesn't dry skin out per se. So I would say go ahead and give it a shot; I think you'll be very satisfied!

Make sure you use a make-up base first, and only use a light dustin, which is what the mfr suggests anyway.

I don't have very dry skin but I have a few dry spots and I would recommend it, I don't know if your skin is flakey or rough, if that is the case, I would use a cream first maybe.

Well, I feel that it would be okay to use, just make sure that you moisturize and apply primer before applying any makeup products. And, be sure to only apply the Mineral Veil sparingly to keep it from potentially drying out your skin okay.

I see no reason why you couldn't use this product. If you use either the primer that comes with the starter kit or even just a moisturizing lotion before application, you shouldn't have a problem getting a nice finish. Start out scarce and then work your way into it.

Yes, my skin is also very dry-it looks great, never cakes on my skin. They also make a primer that you can use first and it really makes your skin feel silky and smooth.

I have very dry skin also and it feels fine. It's so sheer that it doesn't fall into fine lines or feel heavy and irritating.

I also have dry skin and as long as I ise a light moisturizer I can use this with fantastic results.

I definitely think you can use this product even if you have dry skin. my skin is more normal to combination in some spots and i often go to stages when my skin gets very dry. Mineral Veil doesn't harm my skin at all and it still looks good on my skin even when my skin feels dry

it is not the best in my opinion for dry skin, if you have dry skin you might want to wear some moisturizer under the mineral veil, but other tan that it's a great product.

I wouldn't think you would need to use it if you have very dry skin, but that being said, I have some dry patches on my face and the MV doesn't cake on them and doesn't seem to dry them out any further. MV's basically just corn starch.

depends on the kind of dry I would say. I mean I was pealing this summer on my nose and I just made sure I used a really good lotion and used it less on that section of my face.

Just use it after your face lotion and you will be set to go.

It depends what you're looking for - if you want something to just smooth everything out but not add any kind of glow, the regular mineral veil would be the best. If you want to add a glow to your skin, the feather light (illuminating) would work the best. I personally love the feather light mineral veil - it's gives you a nice, dewy glow without being sparkly or shimmery. The regular mineral veil is also great, though.

For a wedding, I would try the veil with shimmer to give yourself that extra "ethereal" look. It won't add any extra colour, but it will add a soft focus effect to your look and blur your lines for photos.

if you dont like a lot of shimmer, then go with the normal veil. if you do want a slight shimmer, then go with the feather light. If your weddin gis outside during the day, I would go with the normail veil, if it is at night, then the feather light. hope this helps.

Try "feather light". It doesn't have any color, but it has a soft glow that doesn't look like you're oily and it won't change color, look chalky or turn orange. It's great for pictures because it gives you a "soft focus" look.

I know this is such a short answer, however either one would be fine to use. I use Mineral Veil and it does not leave any powdery residue, so either would be perfect.

I'd go with the regular Mineral Veil. It's pretty much translucent, so it won't effect your foundation shade.

Because Mineral Veil is translucent, it really doesn't matter what shade you choose. It basically just melts onto your skin, takes a little shine off and helps you look a little more finished. Hope this helps!

I say indulge your cravings and have fun! You've really already stated what you truly want to do, so go with that instinct. You are young; take advantage of this time and go for the shimmer, or whatever makes you happy. You have plenty of time to worry about this aspect or that aspect of makeup, if you choose to do so in the future. Enjoy the skin you have and be true to what you want to do with it. I've always wanted to make myself more tan than I am, but I recently tried the illuminating veil and I love it. Stay true to yourself!

I say go for the glow. Your young and your make up should be fun. You can do a lot of things now that you won't be able to get away with when your older. This one is easy, have fun, do what makes you happy.

The regular mineral veil gives a soft, matte look. Whereas the luminous one sort of gives a yellowy, golden shimmer. I'm guessing since you like bronzers, the latter would do.

I recommend getting the regular mineral veil. If you have shiny skin, half way through the day you can always dab on a little more. If you had the tinted mineral veil, it may start building up the color and look a little strange. However, if you want to get a little color I suggest you try the Warmth product Bare Minerals offers. Start with very little and build up. Then put some mineral veil over it to set it all. Again, if during the day you have a little shine, just put on a little bit of mineral veil to absorb it- but not too much! I had shiny skin when I was younger and found out to stay away from Glows and Bronzers. Though it looks great at first, half way through the day it only makes the shine look more severe. If you plan to have a mineral veil in your bag, you should get the regular container one with brush to keep at home and then the refillable brush to avoid a big powdery mess every time you open it.

I love the shimmer and glowing appearance but if your skin tends to get shiny on its own the luminous will make it worse. Try a tinted moisturizer with the mineral veil over it.

I used a sample of MAC finishing powder and hated it. There is no comparison between the two.

I would go for bareminerals. It's 100% healthy and good for ur skin. It doesn't clog pores so it will not give u acne, it helps generate new cells so it helps keep ur skin clear, you don't have to wash it off b4 bed so u can sleep in it (and its actually good for you), it absorbs oil (but it doesn't absorb it a ton), its totally sheer (even if u pile it on its still completely colorless &sheer), and it really blends everything so it looks like a super smooth finish. It almost makes u look airbrushed. U prob have to do a couple touch ups throughout the day though, to keep ur face looking perfect.

I suggest buying the refillable buffing brush. They are fairly easy to refill (they also come completely apart so u can clean them) & they have one that comes with foundation in it, one that comes with the mineral veil in it, and one that comes empty. I wouldn't buy the empty one because to me its pointless (its also larger than the filled ones which isn't needed for a to go brush). It's much more expensive and u don't get any makeup in it. As long as u have the to go brush, or anything that let's u take some mineral veil with u, u should b fine. It's a GREAT product. You should try the foundation also. It's so nice. Every product they sell is great in my experience, especially the mascara! Their mascara is the most amazing I have ever tried and I've tried a lot! Try it. You'll be hooked!

Also, u said u wanted something that kept ur makeup in place all day. I haven't come across any powder or anything like that, that keeps my makeup from wearing off, however primer works amazingly. Eyeshadow primer will change ur life and face primer is great also. Your Eyeshadow will go on in the color its supposed to (it shows up the way it looks b4 u put it on), it won't crease, it won't wear off, and u don't have to worry about it once its on. I couldn't believe the difference when I used it. It's like day and night, that's how dramatic the change is. If you use eye primer and face primer with the mineral veil ur makeup will look perfect and should stay that way. I dance and even when I sweat it holds up very well. It's just my opinion, but with those 3 things u can't go wrong. I hope this helps!

I can't speak about the MAC product, but I love the BE mineral veil. To help with the oil throughout the day, you should try BE oil control foundation primer. I use this under my BE matte powder foundation and it really keeps me from getting oily throughout the day.

I have acne prone skin to the MAX! After reading MANY different reviews all over the Internet I decided to give Bare Escentuals a try and have never looked back. To me it is TOTALLY worth the money. It isn't too heavy (like I have seen MAX make-up to be). But, yet it will cover acne flaws.

I found the mineral veil did add a glow to my face, just like I wanted. I am not usually a fan of powder as they seem to set in creases and just look funny, but this is great over a light foundation to just smooth and help add a glow to your face. There is not any sparkle, or sheen, just a semi-matte glow. Go for it!

The luminous one should give you what you're looking for. It gives a golden tone shimmer.

This would add more of a "set" matte look to your foundation or mineral loose powder application. It has a really light texture though, which is nice.

Absolutely, I use my fan brush to evenly apply a light dusting of it on my face to set my make up (I have the tinted mineral veil). It works miracles on absorbing oil and maintains a matte finish for several hours.

I have used the illuminating veil to set all of my products (followed by a spritz of the Evian mineral water spray).

YES it is great to set makeup, or sometimes I just use it to set suncreen/moisturizer for a light look, and yes I have used a teeny dot to set undereye concealer and it works great

I like the illuminating mineral veil much better than the hydrating mineral veil. The hydrating mineral veil felt almost "gritty" on my skin and showed fine lines under my eyes, whereas the illuminating mineral veil goes on smooth, soft and almost invisible. It looks and feels wonderful.

I haven't used the illuminating veil but the hydrating veil worked for me to get a more dewy less chalky look.

The regular, and even the Hydrating Mineral Veil will give you a matte look. If you want a dewy complexion, I'd go with either the Illuminating Mineral Veil, or if you think that's too shiny, the Bare Minerals Brilliant Gold Beauty Duo will give you a nice glow. A couple other products by Benefit are really great at giving me a dewy, glowing complexion: first, High Beam is easy to apply and ideal at giving that celebrity-like glow. Also, Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl is excellent for a dewy complexion too. I hope this helps!

It will last all day if you do not touch your face and don't have oily skin. I like to keep a travel size in my purse for hot days to touch up my nose.
