The matte foundation has some more oil-preventing and absorbing ingredients in it. You get a bit less, and it costs a bit more, than the traditional foundation. It is almost like a combination of the foundation and the Mineral Veil powder.

Although there is no stamp of approval from any issuing agencies(leaping bunny, etc.), I believe that bareMinerals would be considered Vegan. The only ingredients are truely minerals from the earth, no animal byproducts. As for animal testing, I could only find "no animal testing" on my Prime Time, but I would think the rest of the line is that way as well.

Do you have a store nearby so you can get a make up artist to color test you? I ordered medium and it was too dark for me, I am a fairly light/light.

The ingredient bismuth can cause some ppl to feel itchy when sweating.
It can also cause a glow, which is not good for ppl with oily skin.

I wear my bareminerals all the time...even when I play soccer (and I sweat alot!). I have never had it affect my skin like that. Maybe you are allergic to something in the foundation?

click on 'more information about this product' on the product info page. if that does not work, go to the website 'Skin Deep'. they are an environmental group who collect data on beauty products, and will break down a product by ingredient, and show you if there is any toxicity. you can also email Bare Escentuals; I did once, and their answer was both prompt and informative.

Question
Golden Medium is a tad too light..
What should I do, the Golden Medium looks normal under normal lighting conditions, but looks a tad light when I photograph with flash. I tried using Warmth to darken it a little bit but it isn't helping that much. Should I used more Warmth and less Mineral Veil?

Maybe the foundation isn't the problem here. It is a possibility that it is just ur camera or the flash on it! Or you may have your camera on the wrong setting, the white balance may be off, you may have the brightness too high, or you may have your camera on the wrong flash settings! These are all things you need to consider before blaming the foundation because my face photographs fine with it and it is a really great product!!!!! I hope this helped! If it didn't help then I'm sorry and I wish you luck!

You may just have to look at the starter kit that comes with 2 colors, and may be a good idea to get both of them. I usually need 2 to make my skin even. Besides, you could wear a lighter color for the Winter and a darker for the Summer. I'd also recommend trying it on. You can always get them at the Sephora store or at the JC Penny Sephora "booth" Hope that helps...

Question
does anyone think this doesn't cover as well as the orginal?
I used to use the original formulation but it was itching my face and gave me a rash. So, I'm trying this but I've notice it doesn't cover as well. I have to use so much to find the coverage I'm looking for. Anyone else? Also, any recommendation on the brushes? Any other brand of brushes that's good? I find that the BE brushes irriate my face. Thanks

You may be better off with synthetic brushes (not sure of a brand though). Since these are made from horse hair, they can be irritating to the skin if you are allergic to horses (most people who are allergic to cats/dogs are also allergic to horses).
