Yeah they are! They actually HELP my skin. If I skip a day and only wash my face, I find my skin reacts badly whereas when I wear it my face looks flawless with it and nearly flawless without!

I have acne-prone skin as well and I use this product everyday. I have not noticed any problems as of yet, but everyones skin reacts differently to different products. I say use it for a week or two and if problems arise you can always return the product.

I actually sometimes leave it on my face and have slept in it. I'm not really prone to breaking out, but i do break out if i left foundation on my face overnight. I feel that it's definately more pore-friendly then anything else on the market. If you are oily, or tend to have t-zone issues, try blotting paper (nonpowder)- it's amazing what a difference it makes, and you are really taking all that extra oils on your face that causes you to break out in the first place!

the commercial said that the rev-er upper and foundation primer worked to prevent products from getting into your pores and also kept your pores clean and protected. so far i'm a believer. i guess only a dermatologist or other professional can really tell by testing the product whether it is right for you, but i'm a real believer in the primers.

I have semi-sensitive skin and I use many Bare Escentuals products, including the foundation and they do not clog my pores or irritate my skin at all. Because it is mineral make-up, it is incredibly lightweight and non-clogging. If any problems should arise, I am sure you can return the product or something. I don't think you should have a problem.

I'm really prone to acne, but I've never had a problem with these powders - the primer didn't help me though. Just let whatever moisturizer you've already found that works for you dry - then use the powder. You always want to let it just stick to whatever natural skin oils there are - not to another product.

Yes, I belive it is. I have sensitive skin, and have used their products for years! I love all of the line. The blemish control pwder is gentle, and works great. You can use it everyday, on your T-zone area, even if you don't have pimples at the time. The foundations are gentle, and cover as much or as little as you need (layering). I have pretty large pores too. The foundation is awesome, but I use Bare Escentuals "Prime Time" foundation primer and the Skin Rev-R Upper to help minimize my pore size. It has done wonders for my skin.

Ok, my first question for you would have to be. Are you using anything to moisturize your skin before you put makeup on? If so you might want to think about stopping use of that product and maybe switching to something with salicylic acid as your moisturizer before you put makeup on. Yes, bare Escentuals is fantastic, but we don't want it in our pores. And don't worry about the whole sun burn risk with salicylic acid. Your B.E. foundation will serve as a great sunscreen. Oh and one more thing. I used to have the very same problem when my brushes were "dirty." Get some brush cleaner and keep your brushes clean when you begin to use this product. P.S. DO use something on your skin before applying this, or any other foundation product. Just like me, you need to have a barrier between your skin and the makeup. Try Neutrogena's Acne Stress Salicylic acid gel. It comes in an Aloe Vera base. Very natural. You can get it anywhere.

absolutely, this product is non-comedogenic. I get clogged pores on my nose from excessive oilyness in my t-zone. this foundation doesn't add-to the clogged pores whatsoever. I usually will use a pore strip or something to get rid of the clogged pores (some skincare product that contains salycilic acid) and I'm religious about washing my makeup off every night. Not washing your face at night, regardless of what brand you use for foundation, will add to the clogged pores, and enable them to get worse.

I used to have problems with clogged pores as well. I admit, there were some nights I fell asleep without washing my makeup off so I'm sure that didn't help with the problem either. Here is a trick I use sometimes in the morning. Wash your face regularly with warm water, but before your dry your face and put on makeup, rinse your face with a sudden cold water washcloth to close your pores a little, that way less foundation gets in!

I have horrible skin, from whiteheads to blackheads to everyday pimples to mega cysts and I have NO PROBLEM with this product. Told my dermotolgist I was using it and for the rest time ever, he did not tell me to stop using it, which is huge because he told me not to even use blush because it can clog the pores. i did read and hear from other users that it caused cystic acne?? I panicked and stopped using for a week, but i'm now convinced that if you regularly deep cleanse and exfoliate..you'll be fine!

In my three year experience with BareMinerals, I have never had any problems with clogged pores or breakouts due to the makeup I was using. The only time I remember having issues was when I stopped using it for a month and went back to liquid foundation. Then the clogging began again.

Yes, this foundation is fine if you have a problem with other foundations clogging your pores. It's extremely lightweight and I often use it on my younger sister who has acne. PLUS, if your skin DOES break out or you find that you don't like the product, Sephora will take it back as long as you KEEP the receipt... even if it's been months since you bought it... even if it's almost empty. I have found that if you use a moisturizer then the BM primer, the pores and lines should show very little. I have noticed that this foundation doesn't do well if you sweat alot. I still like it better than all the others I have tried thru the years. PS, I'm 46.

No it will not clog your pores, in fact, it will give your skin a healthier look that when you began using it :).

I have read everything I can find about this foundation, and none of the descriptions say specifically that it is noncomedogenic. However, I have used it all throughout the spring and summer and my skin has never looked better. I also use philosphy's adult acne serum called "on a clear day" on the rare occassion I still may get a breakout.

Bare Minerals will NOT clog your pores. In fact this line is so pure and gentle you can even sleep in it. I have read and heard stories from women whose skin actually IMPROVED from using this product. "Regular" foundations (liquids or cremes) are thick, cakey and feel like they are suffocating your skin, but not Bare Minerals. Give it a try you won't regret it. PS-Mineral Veil really helps to "Sop up" oil on your skin.

I, too, tend to get clogged pores. I found that it is much easier to control the i.d. mineral products than liquids or creams. I can apply them sheerly, and get a smooth finish without grinding in. Do clean your brushes often by brushing them across an alcohol-soaked cloth.

I also don't feel guilty when I'm lazy @ night & go to bed without washing my face. Less is more when using this though so don't pile it on. I had some trouble with breakouts while using the BE mineral foundation. I'm not sure if it was something in the ingredients. I wash my brushes regularly to prevent bacterial contamination, and would definitely recommend NOT sleeping in the makeup like the ad suggests. That's just asking for trouble if you're already prone to breakouts.

Honestly, this is all natural mineral based makeup. Everyone has diffrent types of skin, and reactions to things, even IF they are natural. My answer to this question is that it depends on your skin. For some people, this might be a wonderful noncomedogenic product, but others might get skin irritations. Some products are noncomedogenic, but can still cause skin rashes or irritation. Acne lotions often have citric acids, salicylic acids, or high levels of vitamin A, more commonly known as retinol. These can aggravate acne and cause burning, redness and itching. However, some people find them beneficial in reducing acne.

I promise that you won't have any problems with it clogging your pores. I sleep in my makeup every night and I never have problems with break outs or anything. Here's an example of how clean it is. I always put a wash cloth down as a placemat when I'm ready to put on my makeup since it is powder and does tend make a mess. I just always happen to use a white one. I'll use the same washcloth for probably a month at a time and when I do finally remember to throw it in the washer, it comes out perfectly clean and good enough to use in the shower.

Bare Minerals seem to work really good with problem skin. I think my skin's got better using it, so no complaints here. Sometimes though the best thing to do is try out a product for at least 2 weeks and see if you break out. I know that even with the "non-cogmogenic" products I've broken out, and I suspect it may be due to other not so nice additive in the makeup. I have used the bareMinerals foundation for almost two years and have not experienced any clogging or other irritations.

You must start with a good facial cleamser and moisturizer before applying this foundation. I do not have a skin condition, but I drink plenty of water, wash my face nightly and use a night moisturizer.

I switched to BE years ago b/c my previous makeup clogged me up. For me, the switch to BE was worth it. Use benzoyl peroxide in your regular skin care routine and this makeup and things should improve with time. I also have good luck with Laura Mercier and Tarte foundations being non-clogging.

I use this on mself and my teenage daughter and neither of us have had a problem with clogged pores. My daughter (going through hormone changes) has had breakouts before with other makeup, but BE has been awesome...never a blemish. I think you'll be really happy with it. Good luck!

This foundation is so very lightweight and natural will NOT clog your pores. I swear by this product and have been using it for 8 years. I've tried dozens of foundations before finding Bare Escentual and this is the ONLY foundation I have ever used that does not make me break out in pimples. I love it.

These products shouldn't clog pores, but if you have trouble with that, you should get a good BHA product. That will do wonders. Just be careful because there are many BHA products out there, but surprisingly few that have the correct PH balance to actually clear up those pores.

I love the Bare Minerals products because I have never had breakouts after using them, and I break out easily. I think because you can layer as you need to to add coverage, you don't ever have too much, as you would with a liquid makeup. Try one of the starter kits; they have all of the products in smaller sizes and you can play with it for a while and see if it works for you. Good Luck!

I have trouble with clogged poars as well. I dont know if this necessarily helps with not clogging poars, but I know its better than using a liquid.

I had problems with once a month acne before I started using BareMinerals, now with using them I do not. I am pretty sure that instead of clogging my pores that the RareMinerals cleanser and night base have kept my pores from being a problem anymore. I highly recommend both of these for any skin ailment!

I have not had a problem with clogged pores from bare minerals, however, I have noticed that it does not wash off well with only my facial cleanser. I noticed my skin dulling and just not feeling "clean". I began using a makeup remover, then cleansing my skin, and it works much better. Mayber your cleanser is not cleaning all the makeup off, thus resulting in clogged pores.

It doesn't clog pores, but remember to use a makeup remover that will properly remove it before using your cleanser. A water soluble oil based cleanser (I like the Shu Enriched) will breakdown all makeup and "stuff" from your skin, rinse away and really allows your treatment cleanser to do its stuff!

Be sure to put on lotion before applying the powder. I have large pores too. Also, don't put too much of it on at once. Another thing that might help is a little trick i have. Maybe try using a primer before putting on your foundation? That usually helps me when I want my skin to look smoother. I like using the Skin Rev-er Upper from BE.

Start with Smashbox photo finish oil free primer, follow with bare minerals foundation, apply your blush and/or bronzer and finish with the bare minerals mineral veil. This is the recipe for flawless, pore free, shine free skin. Good luck!

You might want to try using less, not more, of the foundation. I don't have large pores but find that unless I apply it slowly and carefully I get the mask look and it doesn't make the wrinkles look any better either. Try using a much smaller amount - tiny! and see how that works.

Hi - I too have large pores and have been using BE for many years. Have you tried using a makeup primer? That usually helps me and also a good brushing of the mineral veil on top of the primer (for when I go out) usually helps minimize the pores, too. It seems like a lot of layering but that's the beauty of BE. It's ok to layer it and you don't look overly made up. Good luck to you!

Try using a sponge applicator to dab over those areas. I use the brush all over my face and then touch-up with a make-up sponge and that helps. Sometimes I'll also apply the powder directly to the sponge and apply it that way. Hope that helps. :)

Have you tried the Bare Escentuals Prime Time Foundation Primer? This product actually fills in any recessions on your skin (without clogging your pores) so that the foundation goes on much more smoothly. It's a godsend!

Have you tried maybe using the mineral veil first? I found that to work well.. or maybe a mix of mineral veil and well rested or a small amount of bisque.

I like to use the primer before applying any of the makeup. I think that it allows the minerals to go on smoother. I also use bisque with the full coverage concealer brush before applying the foundation. I hope this helps!

I have found that pore minimizing isn't done with the foundation. It is the under make-up moisturizer. Find one that minimizes your pours. Then apply your foundation.

My advice would be to get a pore minimizing primer such as Dermadoctor Picture Porefect, before applying the mineral foundation.

Have you tried the mineral viel? I have found that using that after the foundation with the max coverage brush has helped with covering up some pores in my T-Zone. Give it a try!

Hello! I've had the same problem as you my whole life, finally I've found a regimen that works...ever since I started using BM foundation. I cleanse with Philosophy's Purity Made Simple facial cleanser, then I mosturize with Aveeno's Clear Complexion daily mosturizer...which you can get at any drugstore etc.....My pores shrank up, and I do all this with BM foudation, and I've never felt more beautiful! Hope I could help!

The foundation should work well, but the key to minimizing pores is the mineral veil which creates a soft diffused glow and tones down the "shiny" effect you may get from the foundation alone. Hope that helps!

You can make this work by switching to something else. This product won't cover your pores and will more than likely just sink into the pore holes and they will still be visible.

having suffered with large pores on my nose and above the apples of my cheeks my entire life, I can say since using Bare Minerals my pores have improved. For the past 6 months The salespeople at my Sephora store in the Green Hills Mall in Nashville have provided me with several samples of different products to help me with my pores, and with the research I've done own my own, I recommend the following:

1. Use Witch Hazel as a toner on the effected areas once in the
morning and once at night. Try to find one that is 100% natural
botanicals

2. Use Dr. Brandt Poreless cleanser, pore effect and pores no more
before applying bare minerals spf 15 in the morning.

3. Then at night, after cleansing, only use Witch Hazel & Aloe Vere
Gel (100% Non- alcohol) on the effected area.

4. I only apply moisturizer ( day & night) where needed, I never apply it
on the areas that I have large pores.

And before you know it your pores will greatly improve. I've had large pores my entire life and I've tried everything!!, and not until I started using the above products and follwing the above regiment these past six months, I've found my self these past 4 weeks not having to use as much products and I've skipped a few nights barely washing my face and went to bed with no worries about my skin the next morning. There have been days when I have left my bare minerals on, especially after a long and hard day, and woke up the next morning with no problems.

I also recommend that you drink a lot of water and maybe even do a liquid, fruit, and veg. fast and maybe a mind fast also one weekend. What we put into our minds and bodies will reflect what appears on our skin!

I don't think this is a good product for covering pores. It tends to emphasize them if you apply too much product. I suggest you try to work on the pore issue alone. Try some microdermabrasion. It makes my skin look great and minimizes my pores. I use Dr. Brandt's.

If you want to use make-up to cover up, you need a full coverage foundation. BM is not full coverage.

Most people have large pores here in Phoenix - it's the dry heat! Start a skin regimen with a good toner (I use Caudelie - it's a cleanser/toner), exfoliate (you can use a mild peel weekly), use a serum and moisturize tons! Don't forget the sunscreen. It works for me. Also, try a tinted moisturizer under the bareMinerals and rub it into your pores - it helps until your pores shrink.

I apply a good primer (like Smashbox Photo finish) first, and let it dry for a couple minutes before applying the foundation. Are you sure you are using the right shade? I have found that if my shade is a bit too light, then my pores are more pronounced.

Try more buffing action instead of adding more product to the brush, if that doesn't work try using a primer first.

I had the same problem. I found that using a primer helps. The two that worked for me are Laura Mercier and Smashbox. Make sure you wait about 5 minutes for the primer to set before applying the foundation.

Try using BE's Prime Time - foundation primer. Another good tip would be to apply the Mineral Veil first and then the foundation. I also have this problem and find that blending lightly with a sponge helps.

Have you tried the bisque, in the summer shade? Some say it conceals quite well also.

Try a pore miniming primer before you put on the foundation. You can also use a pore minimizing lotion. Just search on the words "pore minimizing" & primer on sephora. That should help.

I had the same problem, and ultimately I just switched to a tinted moisturizer because I tried everything, and this foundation is just ideal for large pores. Well rested does help, and you can using MIneral Veil before you put the foundation on, and again afterwards. Ultimately though, if you research the ingredients mica (one of the big ones in this foundation) is known to enhance large pores. Try sandwhiching the mineral veil, otherwise there are great tinted moisturizers fromTarte and Korres that are also natural and won't enhance pores.

I like to use a makeup primer that is suitable for my skin type (oily). This sets a great base for the foundation and actually helps me use less makeup since is smoothes out so well. I like no fuss makeup and I like to limit my "touch-ups" throughout the day, so I keep the Mineral Veil on hand and touch-up once or twice and I'm set.

Using mineral veil helps close up the pores on your face as well.

I have found nothing really gets rid of large pores -- I have them too! I do, however, begin with a face primer. I use the bareMinerals foundation, then add the all over face color (whichever goes best with your skintone) as it tends to lessen the look of pores. Then I use the bareMinerals Mineral Veil because it fills in the holes even more. Add bareMinerals blush to the apples of the cheeks. Pores seem to disappear.

You should try the Bare Essentials Prime Time face primer. I have large pores as well and this does the trick to minimize the appearance.

I forgot to add, that I use the Kabuki brush and get great coverage.... I really love that brush and get great results with it. I need a little more coverage in certain areas and this seems to do the trick......

Try using Clinique Pore Minimizer on those areas to "fill in" pores before you use foundation.

Have you tried bareMinerals new all-natural primer? This helps even skintone and reduce the size of pores before foundation application. It's healthy for your skin too just like all of their products. You could also try using the Multi-tasking Bisque as a concealer on areas of concern prior to buffing on your foundation. I have found both options to work well for me.

after you apply foundation, brush a coat of bare escentuals mineral vail- your pores will look 10000 times smaller.

Philosophy's Supernatural Poreless, Flawless, Tinted SPF 15 would be just right for you. It does have tint, but you can barely tell once you put it on. I use this along with Bare Minerals and it does not cake up. I've used other primers from this website and they tend to be sticky or make my make up cake. If you are worried about the tint, they have other primers to offer.

This is the worst product for minimizing pores, it actually maximizes pores making them look huge. Try Trish McEvoy even skin instead.

AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS PEOPLE WERE SAYING THAT MY FACE LOOKED REALLY GOOD. NOW THAT'S BETTER THAN JUST THINKING SOMETHING IS HELPING. YOU CAN WEAR IT UNDER YOUR MAKE-UP, AS A MOISTURIZER ALONE OR WITH YOUR MOISTURIZER. BUT ONE THING I KNOW FOR SURE, IT WORKS!

I have had success on areas that are too red or blotchy by either (a) applying circles of the BareMinerals to those areas first & then really blend all over, or (b) light coverage all over first, then concentrate on special areas & then Kabuci(sp) brush last. Works every time!

Try using Prime Time by bare escentuals. This is a great foundation primer that is gentle and might help "fill in" any large pores. Good Luck!!

Try using a primer. Bare Escentuals makes a nice one and so does Smashbox. I use Bare Escentuals bisque as my foundation. It is a finer, softer powder.

Try the Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Prime Time, $21. This primer will address your pore issues plus it is packed with antioxidants and vitamins to nourish the skin. Apply before foundation application to tighten pores, improve texture and control excess oil.

I find that using an oil-blotting product helps to reduce the appearance of pores. My favorite is by Smashbox, & apply it sparingly, just smoothing it around lightly & quickly, then letting it fully dry before your i.d. application.
Also, use a clay-based mask in the evenings to help as well.

Have you tried the mineral veil? I don't have large pores on my cheeks, but I do on my nose. The mineral veil seems to help with that for me.

The same thing happened to me with this BE foundation. Know what I did? I chucked it and went back to my old reliable liquid foundation which provides much better coverage. I suggest you do the same.

Use a oil free moisturizer, use a makeup primer (BE has a good one), then use the Heavenly Face Brush to put the foundation on. You can use it to layer with of course. I will advise you to layer the foundation in small amounts. Because, if you apply too much of the foundation at one time or don't buff it in to your face enough, then you will see the foundation settling into your pores rather than disguising them.

I know that there is a learning curve when it comes to applying the BE foundation as it is totally different to apply than liquid or cream foundations. But, once you get the hang of it, then you should start seeing a positive difference!

I'm not sure about that, but what I can say is that I also used to have large pores, but it has gotten smaller after I've been using this product for awhile now. I used to have a lot of this gross white thing in my pores when I was using liquid foundation. I think it's a bad mix using liquid foundation and having oily skin, so I tried this bare minerals and noticed that my pores were getting smaller and that i dont have any more of those white things (eew), my face is less oily, and it doesn't cause me to break out, so I'm pretty happy with this product. I'm never going back to liquid foundation! So yeah if you decided to try this, I say give it some time. :)

For better coverage, try some of the Bare Mineral powders that have been milled more and the powder is even finer. There is a even a version of the mineral veil that is more baby-fine powder.

I too have large pores. A primer like Laura Mercier or serum like skinprep FX or even sunscreen applied to skin before the powder helps me.

The Mineral Veil is great for minimizing pore. If you use the max coverage concealer brush with mineral veil UNDER your foundation, it'll help conceal them before you put the foundation on. Also, a primer under it (I use their Prime Time or Photo Finish by Smashbox) will help as well.

You may need to use an astringent and a primer first.

You might want to try using the primer they sell before applying your makeup. It worked for me!

I use Bare Minerals Prime Time prior to putting on the foundation. It helps and does not make my skin oily, though it feels a little oily going on, it dries nicely once on.

Do you use Prime Time primer before applying the foundation? I'm a redhead with fair skin and green eyes too (with ruddy cheeks). My large pores are on my nose. I use Prime Time and then Bisque to conceal and then put my foundation (light) over it.

The best thing I can recommend for you to do is to buy a good foundation primer. Preferrably a dimethicone based one. This will help to fill in the pores and provide somewhat of a barrier between your skin and the makeup so that it doesn't sink in. Another plus, is that it helps to seal in moisture which you may need in the upcoming winter months. BareMinerals has one that you can definitely use, but I prefer Smashbox 's primer if you need to even put your skin tone and MakeUp Forever's All MAT if you'd like one that absorbs oil. And Clarins has one that is top-notch back in the skincare department called Instant Smooth for only $29. i prefer all of these to the Bare Minerals primer. They don't roll as much and help to address specific needs if you have them.

Did you ever try a pore minimizing primer? Kinda like a "pore filler," its supposed to give skin an even canvas upon which to apply foundation

I used to have the same problem myself and I invented a technique to deal with it!!! I use Prime time primer first all over and then wherever I have large pores, I mix a little bit of the foundation with the primer to make it "pasty" like a liquid foundation and apply it with the Max Cov brush. That covers my pores. Then I apply the Mineral veil all over to cover the pores and take the oiliness away and THEN I apply the foundation the regular way...that is swirl, tap and buff!!! A little bit time consuming BUT it's worth the time. It covers perfectly my large pores, takes away the oil and stays flawless for the whole day. Hope it is helpful!

Using too much at once, leaving too much foundation on the brush can make the pores more obvious. I have found that primers work really well to help fill in my large pores. I also use a small, firm concealer brush to blend the bareMinerals into my pores. This works very well and gives a very smooth look.

I too am fair skinned, green eyes and reddish hair. I could not do without Bare Minerals. I use fairly-light foundation, but I do also use multi-tasking on my trouble spots (large pores, blotchy skin, etc.) This is the only make-up I wil ever use. Keep experimenting with different mixes to get your perfect match. Most people I know always tell me my make-up looks very natural, evened-out, but kind of see-through. I have tried EVERYTHING--I'm telling you, this IS the best. Hope this helps.

Add Mineral Veil over the top of the foundation. It softens the look and helps cover the pores. I too have oily skin with large pores and it makes my face look smooth and the pores less noticeable.

Use a primer underneath your foundation. It will help fill in some of the more noticeable pores. I like Spackle by Laura Geller, even Prime Time, by BE would work for you. I also like Dr.Feel Good by Benefit.

How funny. I'm fair skinned, with red hair and green eyes. And as much as I hate to admit it, I have large pores on the apples of my cheeks as well.
My suggestion? Don't use bareMinerals. Try Vincent Longo Water Canvas Creme to Powder Foundation. Very light, buildable coverage. Natural finish, won't call attention to your enlarged pores. Or at least it didn't for me. Good luck!

Have you tried a primer underneath? I like Smashbox: Photo Finish to help create a smooth surface for the foundation to sit on.

There's a couple things you can do. First, start using the RareMinerals revival treatment. I've noticed a difference in my pores since I've been using it. I believe Sephora has a 30 day trial kit with the Cleanser for under $20.
Also, the Skin Rev-er Upper & Primers make a HUGE difference in how the makeup applies on your skin & it's appearance!
Mineral veil helps to also make pores look smaller.
If you're going to use BE, it really is best to use the full line of products to get the best results. I'm a cosmetologist & I'm trying hard to get my boss to switch his makeup line to BE.

You might want to try bareMinerals in Light since you have fair skin. Also, you might want to try the mineral veil over the foundation which eliminates shine and, I think at least, reduces the appearance of pores. Make sure you moisturize before you put your makeup on, and a good one that lasts all day might help fill in larger pores. Good luck!

I too have some large pores around my nose area. In the morning I use a pore minimizing serum which seems to help. But even without it, I never find the Bare Minerals to leave me with "holes." I would say to make sure you're using the right color. The undereye color is light which might work for your fair skin but I recall it has more of a yellow undertone. If i were you I would head to a store to see if maybe "Fair" would be a better color for you. The right color will blend into your skin and you prob won't see "holes" in your face. I don't think you can 100% make pores go away but with the right combination of products (serums/primers) you can smooth your skin and look great in foundation.

You need oil-free foundation primer, the best is Smashbox Primer. If you apply a thin layer before putting on your mineral make-up your pores should disappear. Dont lay it on too thick tho, just enough for the coverage you need/want; if you apply a thick layer it will actually make your pores look worse and could clog them.

Girl, you need to purchase a primer. The primer will help to fill in the little holes. I suggest Bare Escentuals or Smashbox Primer Light. The other thing you could try is Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals Skin Revival which has helped reduce the the size of my pores.

I use a primer before I apply the foundation and a dusting of mineral veil after to camouflage my large pores

Smashbox makes a primer for the skin which works great to help hide large pores.

I use Philosophy's "The Present" on my face before applying the Bareminerals. You need to let it dry for at least 2 minutes but it gives your skin an all over even tone and helps hide your pores. I have the same problem with large pores but they are on my nose and chin. If you can go to the Sephora store ask for a sample of Philsophy's "The Present" and see if you like it before you actually buy it.

I have the same features as you (only more auburn-red hair, with hazel-green eyes- but same fair skin).
I had the same problem with BareMineral's foundation. Now I use Stila/Laura Mercier's tinted foundation, as well as Smashbox's foundation when I need it.
If you're keen on continuing to use BM, I would first apply a primer, mixed in with tinted moisturizer. Actually, you could also apply tinted moisturizer after you put on the foundation!

you may want to use the max concealer brush to apply mineral veil to areas of large pores then a light dusting of the bare minerals foundation.

the 'holes' you are describing are your pores expelling sebum and perspiration, which is normal. it's what pores are supposed to do. oily skin seems to 'make' more oil. [one thing: oily skin ages better than dry skin. I tell this to myself when I see a face-full of shine in the mirror.] I have the same situation with my skin. I've used the following products which have helped with my oily skin.
I would start by adding an exfoliating cleanser to your skin care regime. I have very sensitive skin, and I use Philosophy's Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash. unfortunately, nothing can 'shrink' a pore- actually, something can- a very strong chemical peel; you would have to get this done at a doctor's office, and it'll take awhile to heal.
for those of us who have neither the time nor the money for a deep peel, we do have excellent products to help. you can make your pores look smaller by keeping them clean. I have large pores on my nose and cheeks, and the Philosophy cleanser has helped to keep them clean; they look a LOT smaller, and my skin is smoother. this exfoliating product also does not irritate my skin as many exfoliators do.
you could also use a product containing salicylic acid or alpha-hydroxy acids. again, a good product from Philosophy for you would be Hope in a Bottle, which is excellent for keeping congested skin clean. it has a light texture and helps control oil. you could also try Peter Thomas Roth's Glycolic Acid 10% Moisturizer. get samples of each and see which works for you. both will help keep skin clear of dead cells so your pores will not get blocked and look larger; the mild exfoliating effect will make the skin's surface smoother.
ANY powder or foundation is not going to work well on oily skin unless you take care of the skin situation first [I know this first hand!] after a couple of weeks, your skin will become smoother, and your Bare Escentuals should go on much more nicely. or, you could switch to a concealer on any 'imperfections' and finish with Make Up Forever's Microfinish Powder. I can't use BE foundation because my skin is too oily. I've used the combination of a concealer and the Microfinish Powder, and I am a lot less 'cakey.' this might work for you.

I am also extremely fair skinned with large pores (mine are mainly on my nose). My fair skin gets discolored from past blimishes and I find that the concealer can be a little too dark on my skin. What I do is use the well rested not only on my eyes but as a concealer on my nose as well. I don't have the problem with the makeup not blending. I use the face rev-er upper that bare minerals makes and that may be why. Also I live in a very humid climate and that may make some difference. Have you tried using the mineral veil on top of the foundation? It has light diffusers so it doesn't really give that made up look.

I use this prodcut to cover scars from acne and redness in my face. I use it over a tinted moisturizer. I suggest making sure your skin has been covered with a light moisturizer or primer before using this product. It will make you look flawless, it works for me. Good luck!

try using the i.d bare vitamins-skin rever upper, with the PRIME TIME foundation primer. they usually come in the starter kit, i have tried them with and without and notice a huge difference. if you dont think do a test, put it on one side of your had and then compare to the other!! it works!!

Try using a primer before applying the foundation. The primer will add an extra layer between your skin and the powder and should fill in your large pores for a smoother appearance. BareMinerals has their own primer but almost every makeup brand has a primer so shop around until you find one that works for you. You don't need to use the same brand primer as your foundation.

The best thing to minimize pores has to start before the foundation.
I use murad acne cleanser because it has salicylic acid (found in a lot of skin care)which helps to shrink my pores. You may also try smashbox they have different primers you apply before your foundation that may help. Sephora also carriers these in small sizes so you can try it out before you commit.

Bisque multi tasking is a great cover-up and comes in a larger container than Well-Rested. However, the cool thing about the mineral makeup is there are no rules; these products are interchangeable and can be used for more than one purpose. So if Well-rested is taking care of the problem, I think you're doing a good job of making the product work for you.

I also have big pores. I start by using my daily moisterizer, and letting it dry completely. Then using a makeup primer (Laura gellers Spackle) and letting it dry completely. Then putting on my BE and it works great!

The kabuki brushes also provide more coverage than the regular without the "too made up" look the max coverage might give you?!

The most important tip for this problem is don't apply too much in those areas. It tends to accentuate large pores. Maybe try an oil free primer before.

Before you put on this foundation use a primer like Dr. Feelgood from Benefit and then use the bareMinerals. the application is smoother and the makes just glides on.

Try using the prime time primer after you have cleansed your skin by using a nice and warm washcloth first, leave it on for a little bit then,cleanse with the RareMinerals Facial cleanser and Then rinse with cool water, use the B. Hi, ok so first u need to always use a primer before using makeup it will help to make the appearance of pores small and makes make up look flawless. Bare essentuals has a great primer kit buy it. then use the fair bareminerals foundation and also buy the mineral veil. what i do is I mix about 1/4 mineral veil to my foundation powder. for this i will recomend to have a to go compact kit so you can add your foundation and the mineral veil. shake it up and voila!!! trust me it works amazing!! ur skin will look smooth and flawless also this little trick for the mineral veil and the foundation is great. good luck and let me know how it works. :)

I have fought this with other products and this one until I learned this secret. Use a differernt brush, (eyeshadow one) and wet it lightly. Put some Bare Minerals on it and then apply. After applying let stand for 1 minute. Then apply BareMinerals as you normaly would. Great coverage. Looks flawless.

My suggestion would be to apply the Skin Rev-er Upper before you apply your foundation. I think it just makes everything go on so much smoother. Also - definelty finish up your application with the Mineral Veil. Good luck! It took me a few tries before i got it right when i first switched over.

Instead of using the full coverage brush for foundation, I use the baby buki - it puts just the right amount of product around the nose, on my cheeks where my pores are biggest, and it doesn't cake and look fakey.

i suggest you try bare minerals Prime Time primer first and then use the foundation. this will smooth out your skin and make the foundation look gorgeous.

I find that Philosophy's mineral foundation with the sponge top offers a smoother appearance than BE. However, if you bought BE and want to use it up, try putting a dusting of mineral veil all over your face (after using a primer, like BE's Prime Time) before you use the foundation. The mineral veil has talc in it which absorbs some of the oil/sweat.

Have you used the Prime Time? It is supposed to help prepare your skin for the application of the powder. Not everyone needs it, but some of definately benefit from the "base"

I agree.... it sits on top and amplifies my pores also. I have to avoid the areas where it cakes up. disappointing.

I have really big pores too. I find the answer is usually in the primer, not the foundation. I like smashbox photo finish. Cargo blu_ray liquid mattifier does a pretty good job too if you have oily skin. The skin rever-upper is good too though, if you haven't tried it yet. It works really well with this product because it helps the foundation stick to your skin.

The Mineral Veil works well to hide my large pores. I apply it liberally with a concealer brush.

Have you tried a foundation primer, like the BE one or Smashbox?

With foundation the lighter you go with the brush the better. For large pores you will need to add skin refining steps to your reg amine to aid in reducing their appearance. Using this natural product though you will see results over time as you are not pouring a layer of "gunk" on your skin each day.

The best thing about this make-up is its versitility (I use eyeshadows as blush and vice versa, blush and other face colors as lip color, etc.). If using well rested as a foundation works for you then continue using it! Because the products are all natural minerals I don't think it will hurt! However, you could try using the Prime Time face primer before using the foundation and I definitely recommend using the mineral veil after applying the foundation.

I work outside and my pores can get clogged, too. Take the time to use an astringent every day and exfoliate once a week. Clean makeup like this one helps but you still have to maintane healthy clean skin when you aren't wearing it.

i don't know if bare minerals is the best thing for you bc i've been told the ingredient bismuth oxychloride (which is in the product) can actually make pores bigger. There's a mineral product called Emani which is very similar and doesn't have that ingredient.

use the rev-er upper and prime time foundation primer. i find that once you use these, your face feels and looks smooth like a clean canvas. anything that goes on after just looks that much better.

if you find the foundation powder sinks into pores, try applying the bare minerals ( no color) first ... pat it where you have particularly large pores.. that will fill in the 'holes' - then lightly dust the foundation on top... this works wonders to fill in pores.

I have pretty large pores too, and what I have found is that if you use the mineral veil, it shrinks the appearance of them. Also if you take the concealer brush and dab some of the veil on the really obvious ones, it also makes your pores seem smaller.

Have you tried using the maximum coverage concealer brush and the bisque for spot treatment? Or maybe a pore minimizer lotion or mask prior to applying your makeup?

The answer is to get some Clinique pore minimizer perfector. You will look poreless. It worked for me and I thought NOTHING would. Don't rub it in. Just glide it over your pores and give it about 5 minutes until you put on your foundation.

Have you tried Cosmedicine's self-adjusting exfoliator? I saw a significant change in pore size after using it (used it at night and saw results in the morning). It's gentle enough to use twice a week and even though I have sensitive acne prone skin, it's not annoyed my face at all! It's like a miracle! :)

Are you using the mineral veil along with the foundation? Because I've found that it has a minimalizing effect on my pores. I have larger pores on the sides of my nose and the mineral veil really works for me.

Try Bare minerals Prime Time Foundation Primer followed by a light dusting of mineral veil before applying your bare minerals foundation.

I have the same type of pores on cheeks and forehead. I have found using the Prime Time primer works so well, I am weary of adding so many products to my skin, so I sampled the Prime TIme and now you won't catch me without it

What I would do is right after you wash your face pat it dry with a towel. Use a moisturizer such as cliniques dramatically different moisture. Make sure you rub it in until your face feel moist but not greasy. Then, I dip my regular bare minerals brush right into the Bare Minerals powder. Tap the brush to remove the excess. I start applying on my cheek and than move the brush to the rest of my face( nose, chin, forehead). I think the key here is the moisturizer. I hope this helps. If not don't give up on this product go to Sephora and someone can help you with how to apply it properly.

You might want to try changing your skin care regimen. Maybe a different moisturizer.

Also, a primer would help. I like Benefit's "That Gal" Brightening Face Primer.

Finally, definitely avoid putting a lot on. It won't help and, like you said, it will just make you look too made up.

I like using a product called 'Philosophy - the present' on my skin before applying bare minerals foundation. It is a clear makeup that really smooths out the skin and creates a great surface for applying the foundation.

Try using their concealer lightly in the affected area first blending it in and than apply the foundation. It smooths out the area and gives the foundation something to cling to.

Try using a foundation primer before applying Bare Minerals with a lighter coverage brush. I too find that the full coverage brush adds a bit too much makeup on my face. Hope this helps :)

Yes, I believe it is. It is free of a lot of the ingredients that cause irritations to the skin. Also, the blemish control powder they have is great. It is very gentle, and I use it every day now,on my t-zone area, even when I don't have any pimples! I have sensitive skin, and bareminerals is the only product I've used for years! You might try an exfoliating scrub and a pore minimizing mask helpful. use them a few times a week. Then try bareminerals , bare vitamins-skin rev-er upper, and or their face primer, before applying the foundation powder. Their blemish control powder is a great product to use on large pores, pimples, blackheads too! Apply it before the foundation to all your problem areas. It's very gentle. Hope this helps!

I have the same issue at times on my nose area, I use the prime time first, let dry, apply mineral veil FIRST to those areas, then the foundation, lightly. Works for me, hope it helps you, I've been hooked since 2000

I have experienced far fewed clogged pores with this foundation than with liquid or cream (eekk) foundation. I have a problem with large pores too, so use a scrubbing cleanser daily. Also, a foundation primer works great for a smooth skin before foundation, and I use Smashbox Photo Finish and love it. I love in Florida, VERY humid and hard to keep foundation from just sliding off in 1 hour. This works for me. Good luck!

Try using Smash Box photo finish before you put on your powder. This should help minimize your pores. It does with me!

You're best bet is to buy the Bare Vitamins Prime Time. It's a BE foundation primer. You'll put it on before you buff on your minerals. I use it and it gives me a nice smooth canvas to work with and it keeps the greasies away. :-) You can also try dusting on a light coat of Mineral Veil before applying your BE foundation, and then finish your look with another layer of Mineral Veil.

You might be using too much foundation or the wrong color. If you are very light toned like my daughter you might be Fair instead of Fairly light. She uses the Bisque as a cover-up and I have her put it on very lightly in a circling motion. You can always add more. i am assuming you use the rvitamin primer or primetime first to make a smooth surface for the mineral to sit on?

I have rosecea and I have found that this foundation has great coverage for problem skin. It looks very natural and it is so lightweight and you don't even feel like you have any makeup on at all. It leaves your skin looking natural...but better.

This foundation is not good for people with complexion flaws. (I hated it, but tried to stick it out for a couple weeks). The foundation is so drying, it soaks all the moisture out of the skin and reveals flaws, like large pores. Seriously, I'd ditch the bareMinerals foundation, even though so many people liked it. It just doesn't work for some people. You need a good "prep" product before you apply any liquid foundation--not a "primer" but a serum that goes on after you cleanse and moisturize--like Estee Lauder's pore perfecting serum (I don't have the bottle in front of me--it is light green)--it works great and makes foundation glide on. Then use a good loose powder--Clinique translucent is excellent at covering up pores all day.

I'm in a similar boat. I have fair/light skin, green eyes, and reddish-brown hair and have enlarged pores over about half my face, the worst being on my nose.

With my routine, I buff on the light foundation with a kabuki brush and then do the same with the mineral veil. It provides a great finish and smooths out my complexion.

I think the most helpful thing for you would be to try a primer on your skin. It is a liquid (think Smashbox Photo Finish, sometimes available as a sample) that smooths out the surface where you will be applying the foundation and allows it to mask the enlarged pores more efficiently.

Bare Escentuals sells a brush that does a great job of really buffing that foundation into your skin. I hate looking made up and this brush helps a lot. It has a long handle and short, dense bristles...called the Heavenly Face brush.

Try buffing on mineral veil first then applying the bisque to cover your pores. Actually well rested is for lightening dark circles around the eyes. Bisque is the 'concealer' of the product line. This should help minimize the look of your pores.

You are definitely making a good decision in trying bare minerals. I also have large pores and this foundation is a godsend to me. Just apply it in a circular motion with your brush. Follow with the mineral veil. I have had excellent results. Hope you will too!!

I reccomend a light layer of mineral veil before foundation. I think there's another product from Bare Escentuals that works as a primer, but it escapes me. Anyway, mineral veil first, then foundation, usually in two light applications. Then buff, and buff, and buff some more. And I'm not any kind of skincare professional, but I learned to manage my pore size with careful experimentation with exfoliators. Good luck! = )

Try the PrimeTime primer. I bought it when I purchased the foundation & it works great! I too have large pores on my cheek by my nose. I don't use it all over my face, just the problem area. It's really a great product.

I would suggest trying Prime Time by Escentuals. It smooths out your skin and gives it a velvety texture prior to using the bareMinerals foundation. Also you may wish to look into a skin toner and oil-free moisturizer designed to shrink pores. Good luck, don't give up on the BE products!

The 'bisque' product is a great great concealer. Also, try using a foundation primer before you apply. Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer was just made to work with Bare Minerals

Try using the mineral veil first and then the foundation. If you use a lot of the product, it only looks like you've put too much on. If this doesn't work, then I will try to think of something else. I hope it works for you, though.

Hi there, I'm not sure if this will help you, but what I do for my freckles and blemishes is take the concealer brush and spot it on. Definitely use a toner first.

Experiment with different brushes. Also, if you take a high quality powder puff type applicator and lightly pat over the pores, it smoothes out the area diminishing the appearance of large pores. I too have large pores and this additional touch seems to help.

Have you tried the Prime Time Primer (by BE as well) before your foundation? I have the same problem and using the primer first lets the foundation go on much smoother. When I am in a hurry and try to skip the primer, I notice it!

Hey there! Have you tried using a primer such as SmashBox Photo Finish or Cosmedicine Medi-Matte Oil Control Lotion? (Medi-Matte claims to provide a 37% reduction in pore size!) I've tried both and have had some great results.
Also make sure to blend the minerals really well on your skin. The buffing action is really important in the application of Bare Minerals (according to the DVD that came with the Get Started kit).

I would try to use your concealer brush first, then apply your foundation, and go over again w/ your concealer brush.! that is what I do.

some people dont do well with powder mineral makeup.I didnt.I loved the idea of it though.So i looked and finally found a liquid mineral makeup which still had all the good things I like about mineral makeup but none of the things I dont like.Plus the liquids come in varying coverage types from sheer to full coverage.

Are you using the bare vitamins? I find that it makes a big difference. Also using the Bare Minerals cleanser leaves the skin smooth and helps reduce the pores.

I own a lot of the bareMinerals line and they suggested for me their MD Formulations Oil Control Pore Refiner. I fell in love instantly. Don't let the words "oil control" fool you, it simply has a matte finish to it, and makes your pores invisible. You do not need oily skin to use this.
It feels like silk on your skin, and when you rub it in between your fingers it has the smoothest texture imaginable and doesn't feel like a lotion. It covered any pores you may have, and it is great under their bareMinerals Foundation.
I do have to state that it is a temporary fix, and does not make your pores smaller over time, but it makes your face flawless in the meantime.
I suggest trying the RareMineral Nighttime treatment as a long lasting product, but since it works over time, in the meantime the MD Formulations Oil Control Pore Refiner is fantastic.

They make a face prep - Skin Revver-upper. I find it really helps

Try using Philosophy's Supernatural tinted moisturizer as a primer. I have dry skin and mix mine with a little extra moisturizer, but this works great under mineral makeup. Also, try using BareMinerals Mineral Veil on top of your foundation to minimize pores.

i have very large pores on the same spots that you do and I found that if you do a layer of the veil then the foundation then one more light layer of the veil it helps. i know it sounds like a lot. but doing it in that order also helps keep oily skin a little less oily.

Try some well rested before your foundation,with the concealer brush.

I understand because sometimes the mineral makeup can sit in your creases if you are older, like me. Have you tried using the angled brush to dap the makeup on your cheeks and then brush the mineral veil over your entire face? Also, perhaps using the bare escentuals primer moisturizer would give you a better canvas for the mineral makeup.

try using the rever upper by BE before using foundation; use a light dusting of mineral veil BEFORE using foundation, try using a little less product and build up as you go. I have found that if I buff on the foundation and think i need alittle more, walk away from the mirror for a few minutes and check again, I often find that I really do not need anymore coverage. hope this helps!

I have some large pores, too, so I know your problem with this foundation. Have you tried the BE primer? Great help with large pores and you can use the full coverage brush without looking so made up. I don't know how that primer works, but it's great. And it won't clog your pores, either. You might try the Rare Minerals Night Therapy, too. This will actually make your pores smaller so you can enjoy your foundation more. Good luck!!

Have you tried using a coat of mineral veil underneath the foundation and then maybe a bit on top? that usually helps also the primer they have out now by bare escentuals is supposed to help with pores. Hope that helps. Zoe

get the bare mineral prime time to go under it. There is also bare vitamins and I can't remember which one works better for minimizing pores. I have tried them both and I now only use prime time. Read the descriptions for both- it will tell you which one does which.

If you are not using a primer you might want to try that under your foundation. I also have large pores around my nose and I use Philosophy's Poreless Flawless spf 15 under my Bare Minerals foundation and it really helps.

I also have large pores on the apples of my cheeks. I just use the bare mineral foundation and the multi-tasking bisque with the full coverage brush and that helps me the best. Unfortunately there isn't any miracle for completely covering these pores that I have found yet. Hopefully the bisque will help you some.

I personally didn't like Bare Minerals, especially for large pores, I found that it emphasizes them rather than covers them. I actually opted for Ben Nye cake foundation, or their cream foundation. If you have no Ben Nye retailer, then Cover FX works very well.

Use a foundation primer it will help. I like Laura Gellar foundation primer.

I have the same problem with large pores on the cheeks. This foundation has a shine to it and and I think that's why it makes the pores appear large. I have tried buffing very little on the cheek area thinking maybe I was applying too much product and my pores still didn't look too great. Applying mineral veil over the foundation helps a little, but overall there are better foundations out there for the large pore girls.

Have you tried the rare minerals acne therapy? I got it and it's really nice - light, covers pores and blemishes and does a nice job as a cover up. The brush helps put it where you want it to go, too. It might be worth a try.

Definately use the Kabuki brush and start out with a small amount. If you find you need more coverage then apply another layer. Also sitting with a mask on a couple nights a week. They help minimize your pours and the makeup sits on nicer.

try using Smashbox Photo Finish befoe applying your foundation.

Depending on what you've tried, I would reccomend a light application of a liquid foundation (try Stilla) and the brush the powder on!

The way I cover my large pores is by applying some of the BE bareMinerals Mineral Veil BEFORE I apply the foundation color. Also, I use the Honey Multi-Tasking Bisque. If you prefer, you can buy the Multi-Tasking Bisque in the shade that works for you. I would suggest applying some Mineral Veil over the problem area first, and then apply your foundation. It works for me. Also, the longer you use this product, the smaller your pores will get.

first it's essential in general to use good skin care products. use someone at the sephora store to help you find something that will help with your skin issues. i've always gotten good advice there. and you might use a makeup primer. it fills in wrinkles and helps the foundation go on even smoother

I have a similar problem with any make-up I put on my face, but I found that if you moisturize regularly and actually go for the looser brushes when you apply, it helps a lot. To go a step further- try using a primer like Dr. Feel Good.

To minimize large pores, it is essential to use a foundation primer after you use the "rever-upper" that comes with the "get started" kit. BareMinerals makes a primer called, "Prime Time". It is a clear gel-like substance that you put all over your face to make your foundation set without it literally "settling" into your pores, thus making them more noticeable. Most importantly, make sure your regime is done in the correct sequence: 1) (after cleansing) apply BareMinerals Skin "Rever-Upper" (avoiding direct under-eye area) ; 2) SPF Oil-free moisterizer and under-eye cream (optional, but a good idea); 3) apply BareMinerals "Prime Time" all over face (BareMinerals also makes an eyeshadow primer, which is great too... but never use anything on your under-eye area or eye lids that are not specifically for eyes.); 4) ...Then apply the BareMinerals foundation as instruction in the manual that comes with the get-started kit. Sounds a bit complicated, but it beats the heck out of just smearing the cheap liquid foundations we all used in the past, which just made our flaws more pronounced than if we had not used any makeup at all.

I suffer from the same problem. Try washing your face with an exfoliating facial scrub first. Then use a strong toner. Then apply the BareVitamins Primer or Bare Minerals Prime Time. They work fabulously for me!

I have the same problem with my pores. I don't know if you have tried bareMinerals' primer, but it works wonders for me. That's the last step in my skin care more regimen I do before I apply the foundation, and I think it makes a big difference. Also, make sure you use the Mineral Veil powder as a last step, and that also helps conceal the enlarged pores. You can also try using the concealer brush with a little extra Mineral
Veil on the problem areas. Hope that helps!

I think using something under your mineral foundation is your best bet. Philosophy has a Poreless Flawless that covers well. Tarte's Smooth Operator (only in the new Health Couture line - not the old one) also works well. Then I put my powder foundation over it. With two spf's, you are probably better covered from the sun too. If you really want more coverage without a lotion, put mineral veil over the Bare Escentuals Foundation. Or use Philosophy's Airbrush Foundation. It's a concealer and foundation in one (has spf too).

I also have lighter to medium skin, with green eyes. My pores tend to get larger around my nose, but I would say the best advice is just to buff, buff, and buff. Use your buki brush and just blend it. It worked like magic on me!

Have you tried a primer?

You must use a moisturizer underneath AND a primer. Try Prime Time and see if that doesn't help. I also use a concealer first.
You will be surprised the difference the primer makes on the pores.

Try using the PRIME TIME foundation prep.

Use peel off masks to take care of clogged pores, mud masks, if your skin isn't prone to drying, plus, my secret beauty weapon: Witch hazel, as an non-drying astringent. Take care of those clogged pores and your make-up will sit better on your cleaner ski.

Have you tried using a good primer underneath? I find that if I use a good full coverage primer and let it dry well, it helps... You might want want to try using the bare Minerals primer or others I have used and like include Laura Gellar Spackle & Philosophy "the present"

Hi, I too have large pores, and I am fair with green eyes.
What I do is I use a facial cleanser that contains a gentle exfoliant
first , then I follow up with a moisturizer I give the moisturizer a chance to absorb into my skin and then I apply the bareMinerals foundation in the "light" shade. I always follow the foundation up with a light application of "warmth" to give my skin that natural sun-kissed look. Without using the "warmth" it doesn't look finished.

If you don't use primer, try that. One option is to wet apply...spray your brush with water and then dip into the foundation and buff. The other option is to use alot less foundation. Just add light layers. HTH

You can use the well rested to conceal or Bisque, with a concealer brush & then use the Bare Minerals foundation that best matches your skin ( a great color for fair skin in "fairly light"). Also they make Rare minerals skin care, you should try their skin primer, to prep your skin prior to foundation application.

Use a nice light spf lotion under mineral foundation to smooth your skin

i have larger pores on my cheeks so i don't use the full coverage brush to apply it. Try using the kabuki brush and make sure you don't put too much on the brush. Then i use the "warmth" bronzer just a tiny bit but it makes a huge difference in the way the foundation looks! then put a little blush over it... it totally blends and looks super natural :)

You need to set the foundation. I have the same problem but I can fix it pretty easily. First use a primer after you moisturize. This will smooth skin and "fill in" the pores(not really it just looks that way). Then once you are all done applying the Bare minerals ( you may look a bit chalky) take rose water or I use Dermalogica barrier protection spray and "set your makeup. Spray it on and don't touch. No more too made up or chalky feel.

Before applying the foundation, try applying mineral veil first, then the foundation and then another sweep of mineral veil. Also, I use the Bare Vitamins Skin Revver Upper first on clean skin.

I would try using a primer first. It should help reduce the look of pores and help the bare minerals foundation go on very evenly. Also if you haven't gotten the mineral veil yet you should, it's my favorite.

Bare Essentials "Mineral veil" is great. I too have large pores, and this item was great. I first put on the SPF foundation, and than the mineral veil. Hope this helps.

If you look on the main page for Bare Escentuals on sephora.com, they have a shade finder where you can look at the models and judge based on that. My guess would be the medium beige. If you don't want to risk it, just go to a Sephora store and have a makeup artist show you--that's what I do almost every time! It really helps to see the shades in person and try them on.

Try the Medium Tan. This is a more golden tan shade that would probably suit you really well.

I am fair, not olive. I ws afraid the "fair" would make me look washed out. It made me look alive! I'd suggest going by darkness of your skin, not the shade. Pick a shade whose darkness is as close to your as possible. If you have to go to one side of the fence or the other, I'd suggest one shade lighter. It will add light to your face.

I have the same issue. I am medium olive-skinned tone. I am Filipino (just to give you an idea of my complexion). I would suggest going to Sephora and getting matched by a Sephora artist because it is better to be sure that it matches than buying it online without trying it and being disappointed.

Hi, try blending Golden Medium and Medium Tan, my mom has the same skin tone....she loves them! Just use a small amount of each and blend well, then try a light skin highlighter or bronzer.

I would try medium tan or medium beige, but either way be sure to try a few on in the store (and check it in different lighting) to make sure you get the best match.

You might want to try medium beige or tan. I sometimes mix the two.

I would stick with anything with yellow undertones and from there just add bronzer or color. Its so hard to find the perfect color because you always have to tweak it somehow. I personally use Medium Beige (which is just a tad light for my skin) and I follow up with a light bronzer or Glee All Over Face Color by Bare Escentuals.

Hey, I have the same skin tone as you. I have found that it is really easy to look "red" or "orange". I pick colors that have somewhat of a natural undertone and stay away from the "warm" shades. This keeps me from turning into a big orange mess!

Try to get to a sephora store. I am olive skinned as well and was deciding between the medium starter kits but decided to go into a store when I went into Toronto. Lo and behold - I am a perfect "golden medium" - which is a new colour and is not available in the starter kits. So try to get into a store before you choose :)

I have medium-olive skin and I use Light. As I tan and my color gets darker, I blend Light with Warmth to make my own special shade!

I think medium would work best for you. You can layer as light or as heavy as you with. You can even mix a bit of one of the blush colors to give a more rosey (natural) finish.

You might want to try the Primtime primer. It is not sticky or greasy, and Makes a very smooth and silky base for your foundation. I find it also helps my foundation stay fresher longer.

just remember you want something to match your neck because if it looks to light or too dark people will notice that you're wearing make up.

Remember if it's too light you can use a bronzer and it will be perfect but if it's too dark, you can't make it lighter.

Hey beautiful, I have the same exact skin tone, how fabulous are we! Anyway, I use Medium tan. If this is your first time, I suggest buying the starter kit which comes with everything you need for only 60 bucks!

I would suggest that you get a starter kit that has two foundations in it. You would need to get the Tan Kit. This will come with two customizable shades that you can either mix and match or try on their own to see how they compliment your complexion.

All I know is that the color tends to get a lil darker later on after u put it on your face because it reacts with the oil on your skin, that is if u have oily skin. For me I have oily skin (but it's not so oily now after using this foundation) so I usually go just a tad lighter and later on it gets a lil darker and matches my skin. :)

It took me awhile to find the right shade. Although---I liked about every shade I tried, but found that the golden color worked better for my yellow skin tone. You might try checking their website and asking one of their professionals to help you choose the right shade.

I love bareMinerals warm radiance all over face color for a lovely glow. It looks amazing when I am tan.

Try medium beige in the winter, perhaps one shade darker in the spring-summer. Since application is very sheer, it shouldn't look "cakey".

I would get one of the kits that contain two colors and mix them and possibly add in some of the Warmth color. Even better would be going to the store and having them help you find your right shade.

Have you tried medium tan? If that's too light, perhaps add warmth all over or go a darker shade but I'd stick to a golden undertone.

I use medium beige, which is (for me) just a little lighter for my skin tone (olive/tan) but have found that it actually works out because after I apply a blush or bronzer, it makes the finish more natural looking and not so much over-done and too dark.

My Mom has the same skin tone & she purchased the Medium Starter Kit & it worked great for her. I love the Starter kit, because you get 2 colors & can mix them to match your skin tone exactly. Hope this was helpful.

browns beiges and greens all look great on olive/tan skin tones

Try between Golden Medium and Medium Tan. I have a light complexion with golden undertones, but during summer time when I get tanned, Medium Tan is the shade I use. Hope it works for u too. :-)

I have light/medium skin with yellow/olive undertones. During the winter I use light 2.0. During the summer, the tan shades are a little too orangy/red for my skin so I've always had to mix the light 2.0 until I found the right shade. I'm happy to see the addition of a golden medium shade. This one might work out for those of us with yellow/olive undertones.

I use a medium but they have an all over face color I got in tropical
radiance and one in warmth to match my tan as summer progressed.

I'd say medium beige. The colors blend really well, though, you could buy more than one and mix a little to try it out. Sephora has a really good return policy.

Sometimes BE does not have the truest color to match your skin. Best thing is to always go into a store to test which works best on your face.
And, as seasons change, so does your skin tone. I recommend buying a few colors, and get yourself a few empty jars to custom mix your own colors. I, myself, have 7 shades in my case because while I'm fair in winter, I have an olive skin tone & tan very easy, getting dark quickly in summer. I find, most often that I use the medium & medium beige, gradually mixing darker or lighter as I need. Medium Tan is a nice color in summer. Tan is a bit dark, but when I went to Mexico, I needed it.

I would try Medium Tan. Medium Beige is the most popular sold, and I believe it is forgiving. But I'd go to Sephora and try on the Medium Tan and see how it looks!

I think the tan would be the best choice for you, this isnt like putting on a mask, it won't completely change the look and tone/color of your skin, it blends into it.

Your best bet will probably be Tan. Keep in mind that this product is very forgiving when it comes to color. You can always mix 2 shades together if one isn't providing the look you desire. I usually mix one shade darker into my usual color for a summertime look.

I had a hard time as well figuring out a perfect color but what I found was that as long as you are close to your skin tone it will match. I bought 2 colors mixed them and that is how I got my perfect match.

to find a custom color matchh you may want to blend different foundation colors together. you can also use the bisque concealers as color adjusters.

I would highly recommend trying it before purchasing. That said, I have olive skin and I use the Medium Beige all year around. Even when I am tanned, it looks natural. The 'Medium" shade looks too dull on me. I'm a "Latina", and finding a foundation that didn't look like I had just melted a Barbie doll and smeared all over my face was nearly impossible until I tried Bare Minerals. I love it!

Have you tried the Fairly Light shade? If that doesn't work, you may be able to get 2 colors and blend them together for a more customized color.

Welcome to the world of bare Minerals!!! I would most definitely say to use the Light foundation. That is what I use, and I had the exact same issue you stated you had with drugstore brands. I also have light skin with a hint of olive tone and the Light foundation blends PERFECTLY with my skin. I would not go any darker than light. If you purchase the Light kit you will receive the Fairly Light (too light for me) and Light, which you can combine to go lighter if you need to. Hope this helps girl! Enjoy!!!

There is a huge difference between medium beige and medium. I have some of the same coloring and the medium is just too light.......The medium beige adds something more for the olive tone.

I would suggest you use Light. This color is not super light and not that dark either. You can also buy the starter kit for light skin and would come with the Light and Faily Light foundations. If you are still a bit darker than those two, you could apply the Warmth all over face color (it also comes in the starter kit) and mix them together to create your exact match. Good Luck!

Great, light foundation that leaves my skin looking flawless the entire day. It blends well and covers where my skin tone varies. I have sensative combination skin that easily leans more towards oily...this product still looks great at the end of the day.

You need someone to help you blend two colors. I'm very light with neutral to yellow undertone. I use fairly light mixed with medium beige. Blends perfect and looks awesome.

I would ask the store clerks. They were very helpful in finding me my true color. You could mix a couple of colors to find your skin tone. Sorry, I can't be specific but with a little help and mixing you should find your color and not be disappointed.

One of my friends has an in between skin tone and the woman at sephora suggested that she purchase a starter kit- that way you can get three colors to see which one works best for you. Or go into a sephora and one of their makeup artists will match it for you.

I was always light, but have some yellow/olive tones. I found Golden medium works very well for me.

When you use bare minerals the greatest part about powdered foundation is how versitile it is! Why not mix the darker foundation with the light until you obtain the correct color? Thats the beauty of this product!

I am an extremely pale girl and I use the lightest shade. THe great thing about the starter kits is that you get two shades. If you have a sephora store near you the best thing to do would be to go there and have them try out the different colors on your skin to help you find your perfect color. That's what they did for me! (even though i knew i was the lightest shade). You could also try blending more than one of their shades if it still doesn't match quite right.

The thing I love about BareMinerals is that you can mix the powders. You don't have to stick with just one. I alternate between a lighter color in the winter and I mix it with a darker color in the summer. The darker color by it's self may be too dark, so I just mix-it up myself. You know your skin tone better than anyone else.

I would not use Medium. I use Medium and my skin is not what I would classify as tan. Try a darker foundation color.

I have found that mixing a cool and a neutral gives me the perfect shade, so don't be afraid to get both and mix to get what shade suits you best. also this trick come in handy if your complexion becomes darker in the summer

After using for years, the best thing I have found is that as long as you match up the tone of your skin first, then you can concentrate on the shades. For instance, I am not a pink undertone person, although I have paler skin. So, I use the gold/yellow undertone foundations, but the lighter shades in winter and around my eyes (to make them pop and to cover circles) and then the medium shades in the summer. It sounds like you might have a gold/yellow undertone so only look at shades with this undertone starting in med. It is better to be a little too light than too dark.

I would suggest getting the sample try out kit (18 dollars). It would make a great travel set (the sizes are small but you'll have travel sizes and you can mix the shades to come up with a match). You do not need to use a lot so this makeup will last a long time. If you don't want to invest in the kit, I would try on the golden medium. If it is too dark, you can add some Mineral Veil to lighten it up. Hope this helps!

if your skin is warm go for golden medium. but even better, I'd buy a kit for $60 so you can try out 2 foundations and determine which is best for you. absolutely worth it, since you get the 3 brushes and mineral veil and bronzer.

Try comparing your skin look to the pictures. That is what I did and am satisfied with my choice.

Go for medium golden, and used the tinted mineral veil on top. I got a tan and had to switch to medium gold because the fairly light was too light for me now but I just got the sample for medium tan and it is way too dark..

I have fair skin so always used the fairly light but last year started playing tennis and I got a tan in my body so my face looked like a clown's all of a sudden, too white so I went to the local store to try before ordering it from Sephora and the perfect match was medium golden, I just got a sample of the matte foundation in medium tan and is way too dark.

I recommend medium tan especially if your skintone has any golden tones to it.

Bareminerals for me took away alot of my acne. A couple of years ago before I started using bareminerals I had horrible acne from liqued foundation and by miday I could see the oil on my face. Then I started using bareminerals and alot of my acne when away and my face didnt look oily. I love bareminerals because it helped my skin. But it depends on your skin. For some people it causes acne but very rarely. If it does that just return it bareminerals always stand by their products. Also for covering acne or acne scaring use their maximum concealer brush and use the foundation to cover the blemish or scaring. It works better than anything and does'nt cause your acne to become worse like liquid concealer does.

It's never caused me to break-out from wearing it, but everyone's skin is different. My friend tried it also and it made her break out. It just depends on your skin type I suppose. It does a really good job of covering redness from acne though.

If you buy the concealer brush and the face color bisque or darker considering your shade or even just the concealer brush and the color makeup you need . It does not clog pores and it will not cause acne. I had acne bad and it has really helped my skin. I also use the rare minerals line that bareMinerals have the blemish therapy and the powder face wash and I haven't had a break out it 6 months!

It will definitely cover breakouts and I have been using it for 2 years and I have slept in it work out with it on and it has yet to break me out.

It covers my pimples pretty well, it kind of dries my oily skin. it caused a little break out when i started wearing it, but eventually it actually made me skin look better the more i used it.

I would occasionally breakout before I started using this product but I have not have a single zit since then. What I've heard from my friends is that it does cover acne and that it actually improves skin.

This product is all natural and has never caused breakouts for me. I have used it to spot-cover with a smaller brush. Also, BE bisque is a great blemish hider. Just dot a little on a small brush and dab it on the blemish. Presto! Blemish is gone. Good luck!

I think this product does a great job covering blemishes, and will not cause breakouts. I have acne-prone, combination skin, and have used this foundation for almost two years without any problem. Use a bisque that's right for your skin tone/color over or under the foundation for extra concealing.

It covers break outs well. Since nothing can stop all breakouts, it is nice to know their is a product that does not cause them. After a year of using this product I have very few breakouts.

I believe it will cover the acne, and no, it will not cause more breakouts. I suggest using BE Bisque for more coverage if needed. I use it in lieu of what we used to call cover stick. Ick!
