I have paper dolls and tea party. I don't really see a big difference in either 1 of them. They both blend very well. I have been using paper dolls for a couple of years and just recently started to get the air brush tan so I decided to move up to tea party but did not see much difference. But this is ok because it is my absolutely favorite foundation ever! And i have medium tone skin an they both work great!

Unfortunately they discontinued JAX the lightest shade. You are left with Spin the bottle-which is a neutral medium fair color.

I agree, spin the bottle is the way to go. i have light skin, and this is what the Benefit makeup artist reccomended for me. i would by no means consider myself fair, so if you do, spin the bottle may not be the shade for you.

Definitely "Spin the Bottle." I have fair skin and actually only can use this shade in the summer. This foundation does not come in a very fair shade.

they're both great, but the bobbi brown costs more.

bobbi brown is also more moist, so it would be better for normal-dry skin, while the benefit playsticks are drier, so better for normal-slightly oily skin (but not very oily skin)

this is really up to you. If you have a darker skin tone go with bobby brown but if you don't, go with Benefit. They're both amazing, i have both but i prefer the benefit one. Shiseido also carries one but its harder to get. best of luck.

Question
benefit play stick - jax
What happened to the color Jax? I don't see it as one of the colors I can buy. Does that mean Play Sticks no longer come in "Jax" or are you just temporarily out of stock?

They discontinued it!!! I'm very fair skinned and that was the best product that worked for me. I wrote to Benefits customer service, and this is what they responded; "Thank you for writing to us at Benefit Cosmetics. We are very sorry, but the play stick (JAX) has been discontinued. Currently, we do not have a product that has directly replaced play stick (JAX).

it actually has soothing properties in it that help reduce the redness of the skin. (not to mention it covers really well as far as cancelling out redness). i think it has green tea extract?

I have EXTREMELY acne prone skin and have had it for eleven years. I look at anything oily and I break out. I walk into McDonalds and I break out. I wear this literally for 24 hours straight including sleeping in it and I have no extra breakouts.

It covers all of my problems very well and is layerable, though for extremely dark spots I use Too Faced Absolutely Flawless concealer (Perfect Nude matches Play Stick's Tea Party perfectly).

Another plus, touch ups are amazing with this so if it does rub off on something (such as a pillow) you can reapply in 30 seconds flat on top of your other makeup, including powders, without looking messy. This helps cover blemishes up also.

Hope this helps!

I have acne and oily/sensitive skin. As long as I use a primer, blot once a day, and thoroughly was my face at the end of the day, I dont get any new breakouts. Most people don't even know I have acne, and thats because I use Play Sticks. However, it does have a tendency to settle into scars a little bit, so watch out for that.

The product CAN settle into fine lines. Settling tends to happen with oily skin. My skin is oily and I've had it work for me.

If your face can get oily some methods are blotting before use, and then setting it with a powder.

I've had my face look flawless from a late night out to literally the end of the next day by these steps. (on a clean and moisturized face)
-Dot on product
-Blend in to skin
-Set with powder (especially under the eye)
-Set with Skindanavia or Urban Decay Finishing/Setting Spray

I NEVER use this product alone, otherwise it will settle.

I to also have medium skin tone brown hair and brown eyes I have been using paperdolls for quite some time now I thought since i was getting a little bit more color to my face that I would try tea party. There was not a big difference in either one. They blend so well that either would probly work well for you.

Hmm... Spin The Bottle, perhaps? Or maybe Tea Party if you need to go lighter. You can always exchange them until you find the right one, so don't give up! Good Luck.

Question
application/how long it lasts
What is the best way to apply it? Do you put it directly on the skin and blend with a brush? Or use a sponge (damp or dry) or what?

Also, how long does the stick last, on average? I am sick of buying Bare Minerals every 1-2 months, and I am looking for something else. I usually need a good amount to get the coverage I need. Would this take a lot of product or just a little for full coverage?

I apply my play stick directly to my face. I draw a line around my cheek and jaw then on the chin and nose. I blend these lines with our foundation brush. The brush works really well with this product, ensuring full coverage.

I use the benefit foundation brush. The trick is short quick strokes to keep it from looking too powdery.

Question
Which color do I choose?
My complexion is fair and I have black hair and green eyes. I'm not pasty pale, but fair with an olive undertone. I do not go out in the sun at all. Which color Play Stick will match my skin tone best? I had used Bare Minerals in Medium in the past, but it always looked yellowish on me.

Use "Spin the Bottle." It is the closest to a neutral medium. Also try Bare Minerals Medium Beige as it is more neutral.
