answer 1
The packaging of my balm doesn't list parabens. Even if it had them, there isn't much product, so it would have to be a very small amount, which would be totally safe. But, as I said, I do not see any parabens listed at all.

i agree it was confusing reading the ingredients list and seeing "Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben" when Caudalie claims natural ingredients.
I looked online and found a Caudalie brochure that noted with an asterisk that the lip conditioner is 99.5% natural.
However, the actual list of ingredients on the packaging (I have it infront of me now) includes:
Helianthus Annus (sunflower seed oil), Ricinus Communis (castor seed oil), Cera Alba (beeswax), Oryza Sativa (rice), bran wax, cetyl palmitate butyrospermum parkii (shea butter) extract, Copernica Cerifera (carnauba) wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (candelilla) wax, Vitis Vinifera (grape) seed oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Stearyl Olive Esters, Prunus Armeniaca (apricot) Kernel Oil, Parfum (fragrance), Palmitoyl Grape Seed Extract, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Glyceryl Oleate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid.

Caudalie made the decision to invest a significant amount of time and money into discovering a healthier method of preserving our products. All products are formulated without parabens and phenoxyethanol, without mineral oil or chemical colorings - only the best for you and your skin!

The company reformulated it late last year and removed the parabens. Sephora has not updated their ingredient list yet. The stocking stuffer kit has the new ingredient list.

I suppose if there is a conflict of information, you should ask the manufacturer because us the users will not be able to tell. I don't find anything irritating about it so perhaps it does not have it in there??? Not sure.
