it has lots of natural oils to moisturize and protect but does not mention that it targets lines and wrinkles. Either way, it's beneficial. You can try putting eye treatment on your lip area.

Question
What is the product's shelf life?
I love the Sugar Lip Treatment, and I love how it doesn't contain parabens. But since it doesn't, I would imagine that it doesn't last as long as other products that are made with chemical preservatives. Would anyone be able to tell me what its shelf life is after being opened? Thanks! :)

I only used the Sugar Lip Treatment and nothing else when the Honey tint came out I switched to that. The shelf life is for months although I doubt you would leave it sitting in a drawer as it is addicting. I've had a left over Sugar that I leave in my office since the switch to Honey and it always delivers. Don’t leave it in your pocket or hot car as it will melt easily.

I just bought this a few weeks ago, but I will update in the coming months to tell you what I found out....provided that this product does not meet the same fate as other lip gloss I have purchased (melted in the car, accidentally washed in the clothes washer....) I hope it lasts a long time because I really love this product!

I have had it sitting on my vanity for 6 months and it still has is working. There are no weird odors or anything. I use it on a lip that has no make up on, so that is why it might have have lasted more than if I had used it on top of a lipstick.

answer 8
The shelf life of your makeup will vary from product to product. Most products nowadays have an expiration date printed on the packaging to indicate the shelf life, and when in doubt, it is always best to check with the manufacturer. All cosmetics will also include a symbol which depicts an open cream jar and is accompanied by an indication in months or years of how long the product will remain suitable for use once it has been opened.

Here are some tips to help keep your cosmetics fresh:

- Keep makeup containers tightly closed except when in use.
- Keep makeup out of sunlight; light can degrade preservatives.
- Never add any liquid to bring the product back to its original consistency. Adding water or, even worse, saliva could introduce bacteria that could easily grow out of control. If it has lost its original texture and consistency, the preservatives have probably broken down.
- Never share- it's the fastest way to spread bacteria!
- Throw makeup away if the color changes or an odor develops. Preservatives can degrade over time and may no longer be able to fight bacteria.

I hope that helps!

Question
Why doesn't this lip treatment get "Sephora's natural seal"?
asked 2 years, 8 months ago

answer 1
A lot of sunblocks are made of potentially carcinogenic chemicals... Just a guess, but I think the inclusion of the SPF in this product may preclude it from getting a "natural" seal. Regardless, I love this product, and since sun protection is important to me, I am willing to use products with chemical (as opposed to physical) UV blockers.

I'm a huge fan of the Cosmetics Database from the Environmental Working Group website; it takes lots of popular cosmetics, breaks them down by their ingredient lists, and rates them on a scale of 0 to 10, 0 being super-safe (i.e. water) and 10 being super-toxic (i.e. ingredients that are banned in Europe but are not regulated in America). For each product, it lists the toxicity of every ingredient and what threat they pose (developmental toxicity, irritation, cancer, etc.) I always check it before buying cosmetics.

The Fresh Sugar lip products consistently rank an 8 out of 10, which is in the 'red zone.' In contrast, many of the Sephora 'natural' products rank a 3 or 4, in the green or yellow zone.

If you want to check out the site, just google EWG cosmetics database. While natural isn't always safer, this site ranks by the toxicity of ingredients, not the 'naturalness.' I think there are many products offered by Sephora that are less expensive, equally therapeutic, and much safer.

That's so funny that this question is on here - I have the same complaint about the rose! It makes it hard to apply correctly. Oddly, though, this version doesn't seem to melt like the rose does - either that, or I simply don't notice it as much, since then there isn't pink smeared all over my face.

I noticed the same thing in the description too. I don't believe I have noticed it plump my lips like other plumping lip glosses. Then again, most plumping glosses only last for the first ten minutes, then nothing. I have noticed that my lips look healthy, smooth and all around better looking therefore they do look fuller due to the better condition they are in. Maybe, this is what they meant.
