Questions & Answers for Lancôme ARTLINER - Precision Point EyeLiner

Question
Does this product leave a "crease line"?
Does this eyeliner crease (you know, how sometimes you get that line right where your eyelid is when you have your eyes open) at all? How about over eyeshadow? I always wear at least nude shadow underneath my eyeliner and would love to know if this smudged or creased at all. Thank you!

I've never had this leave any on my upper lead/in my crease, you just have to give it a couple seconds to dry.

I have rather oily eyelids too, but have NEVER had a problem with creasing. I put the liner on after my shadow & mascara, and it seems to dry in about 5 seconds. But, if you make a "goof" and need to correct/blot somewhere, you can just use a moistened Q-tip or whatever you'd normally use -- it's still easy to remove within a few seconds of application. Once it's been on for a minute or so, it's more "set," and takes a little more work to remove -- but you can still use soap/water to wash, but I'd recommend Lancome's eye makeup remover!

yes like any liquid liner if you immediatly open your eyes all the way right after application it can leave a mark, it all depends how thick of a line you apply as well. I usually apply this and then eyeshadow right after to give my eye a chance to dry and then its fine. If you are in a hurry or prefer to put this on after eyeshadow, use a thin liner brush to gently set the liner with a dark black eyeshadow and it wont move.

Once this dries...(which seems like a couple seconds) you're set to go. The eyeliner won't be going anywhere. No creases or line stamps on your lids. It only goes where you want it to go:)

I have never had a problem with creasing of the eyeliner. I have pretty oily eye lids and usually my eyeshadow creases but I've never had an issue with this eyeliner-- I've been using it just about daily for several years.

Is this a matte eyeliner?
I am used to using Avon's Liquid Black Eyeliner, and I love how it comes out rich and matte in the first application, does this eyeliner have the same effect?

It's somewhat shiny. If you wear glitter shadow it sticks to the liner and makes it glittery. I kind of like this, but you might not.

It is not completely matte. It's got a slight sheen but not shiny. I don't like shiny and this is my favorite eyeliner.

I'm not familiar with the Avon one you mention, but I have used eyeliners that are much more matte than this one. That said, I only use the black - there is a grey colour that may give you the effect you're looking for, but if your goal is matte black I'd say you can find better.

You have to shake it before use.
It's not like an ordinary eyeliner filled with liquid inside the container.
So it feels like the same everytime.

I wouldn't call it "water proof" - I'd say more water resistant. I can get watery-eyed and even shed a few tears without it budging, but if it's a full on cry fest or super deep into allergy season and I have uncontrollably watery eyes, then it will smudge/flake a little. The nice thing is - if it does move or flake a little, it doesnt ruin the whole look and is easily touch up-able. Hope this helps!!

I didn't think it was long wearing or very waterproof. I noticed it would crumble so I had to reapply it quite a bit and shake it up during application. It stays longer if a shadow is applied on top.

Question
Already used?
Its hard to tell sometimes if a Sephora product has been opened, used and returned previously. When I brought this eyeliner, most of the sponge brush was still white, so I assume it wasn't used. But there doesn't seen to be a lot of product in it. I shake it before use but the tube just doesn't seem filled. Is it the same way for everybody else? Is there more product in the tube then it seems? If you use this eyeliner everyday, how long did it last you?

It's normal for the tip to start out white...you have to shake it a bunch before the liquid gets fully absorbed in the tip. It may take a few times of use before the tip is fully colored...

It's not meant to be waterproof, otherwise it would say that it was waterproof. It stays on long (up to 8 - 12 hours depending on environmental, etc. conditions), but don't expect it to stay on as long as Stila'a Spark Waterproof eyeliner, which is waterproof and lasts for about 12-24 hours.

The line is pretty intense... I only use it on the top and use a complimentary shadow with a stiff brush or a pencil when I line my lower lids, because I think this would look way too harsh. That said, I don't think it would irritate your eyes, so long as you don't try to use it inside the lower lid.

I did a very fine line close to the lash line, but by the end of the day it had run and smudged a bit. However, I believe it was due to the heavy moisturizer I wear under my eyes...perhaps, with some eyeshadow blending it would have lasted.

Yes it can be used on the bottom as well as the lid, I don't use it on the bottom, but I don't put any liner on the bottom. It may have to be softened with a q tip or something to prevent the harshness of a line.

I don't have mine on me right now to tell you the exact ounce size, but I can tell you that I use this product once or twice a day, every day, to do my cat-eye liner. Using it that often, I usually have to buy a new one every 2-3 months at the earliest. So, it does last for a while.
