Questions & Answers for Lancôme MAQUICOMPLET - Complete Coverage Concealer

What is the purpose of the Correcteur shade? I noticed in one review that the customer used both this and the Camee together.

Some areas that are difficult to cover can benefit from the use of a color corrector. Yellow is the opposite of purple on the color wheel, so using yellow over any purple-ish areas (like marks from acne, broken capillaries, or dark circles) will neutralize this type of discoloration. Some people also find this color useful for neutralizing blue or red areas as well. Yellow can be a bit easier to work with than a white, orange, or green corrector because yellow is naturally found in the skin and blends easier into the surrounding skin. After you color correct, you may find that the neutralized area is not the same shade as the skin around it, which is why some people might use a separate concealer. This will also give you more coverage. Alternatively, you could just cover it with your foundation. =)

corrector is to correct under eye circles. you place this under your regular concealer. the yellow counteracts the blue in the dark circles.

Question
Which product to use?
I am a bit confused by the choices we have for concealer. I've decided to buy one from Lancome, but which one? We have this one, MAQUICOMPLET - Complete Coverage Concealer; the EFFACERNES - Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer; and also, the PHOTÔGENIC - Skin-Illuminating Concealer SPF 15, which says it is good for dark circles under the eyes.

I've got the sunscreen covered, but I do have terrible dark under-eye circles. My skin is light colored and sometimes red. It is sensitive and tends to be dry, and I've got some wrinkles to go with those dark circles. So which should I use??

My instinct is to go with the stick MAQUICOMPLET in the yellow color. But then ,,, , Any advice?

This is an item that is used under another item. For example, I use the Maquicomplet as an undercover (lightly use with my baby finger and blend lightly). Then I use a heaver bb/cc cream and/or light foundation and blend with a clean sponge.

All I know is that from using both, the PHOTOGENIC is a little thicker so it adds more coverage than the MAQUICOMPLET. I used to use the PHOTOGENIC in the pot and could use a brush with it. Both are excellent though.

The Photogenic (which I adored) no longer exists. I really like this one. Give it a shot...you can always return it if it's not right.

Light Buff is probably pretty close. Maybe a teensy bit darker, but I have fair skin and it works for me, also, with Summer coming up maybe you can go a bit deeper in shade. I love light buff.

I use the Clair II and it sounds like we have similar skin tones. I have a very light complexion. Light enough that some make-up lines don't have light enough concealers or foundations for me - but Lancome does. I'd recommend the Clair II - it's not the lightest in the line, but almost.

For me this ran a bit dark, so I ended up with the lightest color (camee). I'm light to medium skin tone if this helps. I'm thinking you should try the lightest color.....

Question
Would I use the same color I use with the undereye concealer?
I currently use Lancome's undereye concealer in Clair II on my forehead (to cover Melasma). Should I use this product instead? And is the color the same as the undereye concealer color?

The under eye concealer has a slightly thicker, creamier consistency. It does offer a thicker coverage that is very matte. The macquicomplet is a not as thick and may not give you the same amount of coverage. Plus, the effacernes is waterproof and not as prone to wear off during the day. If you are happy with what you are currently using, I would stick with that. If you do decide to change, the Clair II is not exact in every Lancome concealer line but it is pretty close and you should be okay using the same color.

Yes, you would use the same color. Clair II is the same for both concealers.

1. I use the coverage concealer.
2. I then use bb/cc cream in under-eye area.
3. I powder out my eyes and then face.
4. This should help it last longer during the day.

It does hide dark circles as well as blemishes (I use it on acne and acne marks as well). It covers those pretty well. And you do have to reapply at least once throughout the day - by mid afternoon, it is pretty much gone.
