My first thought is that you may have used too much. The gel spreads very easily and takes just a tiny bit. I would suggest a very thin application. You can always apply it again the next day if you want a deeper color. It's much easier to add more later than to wait for an overenthusiastic application to fade.

Use an exfoliator before use. I recommend Sephora Double Duty Exfoliator + Mask for the face, and Bliss Super Minty Soap n' Scrub Energizing Exfoliator for the body. This will get rid of all the dead skin and make application more even and leave no streaks. Also, before you apply, lotion your elbows, feet, wrists, and hands. For the inner arm, you may want to add a little bit of body lotion to the tanner so it's a lighter application, since your inner arm is always lighter than your outer arm. Hope this helped!

apparently you put too much on. Try using less & not stacking it every nite on...every 3 or 4 days is enough for a more natural look.
The only time I saw an orangey look with this product was once in between my fingers when I forgot to wash my hands after applying it. I think it was because there was too much of the product there. I have good luck when I apply a couple of very thin coats instead of applying a generous amount. Seems to look natural and more golden than orangey.

use full strength on forearms and lower legs and thighs. But around knees, ankles, elbows, etc, dilute with a bit of hand lotion and use about half as much as you would in other areas. Don't over-do it the first time. Wait to see how it works on you before a second application.
I always blend my tanners with a regular lotion ( Aveeno or whatever you use). It lasts much longer this way and looks way more natural! Give it a try!
