I wear it year round, but I guess some people may think it is too strong to wear in the summer time.

I would say it's more of a fall/winter scent. I suppose you could wear it year round based on your preference, but for me, it's a little too musky/woodsy to be considered during warmer weather.

Despite what people say you can wear any fragrance you like year round. Many will classify this as a fall/winter fragrance because it's warm and a tad bit heavy depending on how much you use, however if you like it that much...wear it whenever you'd like day/evening or summer/winter!

it sounds like the one you received was the eau de toilette...that sucks

I wear it year round. I think it takes on a new character when mixed with the summer sun!

personaly I would wear this all year round, it does not at all hit me as strictly fall or winter.

it's pretty strong so mainly fall and winter, but i wear it in the summer sometimes too. it's not a seasonal scent really. all year round would be fine.

I got it for my mother for her birthday in August and I think she wears it year round, so it can certainly be done without it seeming out of place. I think that its more evocative of other fall and winter scents however, so it certainly would be appropriate this time of year!

I tend to wear mine a bit more in the summer, actually. (I just pulled it out today, May 1st!!!) I think it's quite sexy in warm weather. I like it in the winter, too, though; it's not a heavy, winter oriental but it's not so light that it's only good for summer wear.

You probably have the burberry brit sheer. That bottle has white stripes on it. The scent is the same as the regular brit but just less intense.

If it is Burberry Brit, it could be that you ordered the Eau de Toilette vice the Eau de Parfum. The toilettes are not as strong as the parfums. Parfums have more of the essential oils, where the toilettes are more watered down. If it has pink in the stripes, you could have ordered the Brit Sheer.

The bottle pcitured above is the eau de parfum bottle, the clear bottle with the white stripes is the eau de toilette bottle. The parfum is more 'rich' with the fragrance and the toilette is less potent.

The bottle you got which is clear w/white stripes is the Eau de Toilette which is just less concentrated. The bottle you see above with black and red stripes is the Eau de Parfum which is more concentrated but yes they are the same fragrance just one is Toilette and one is Parfum. Hope this helps you.

White stripes is Eau de Toilette - the one in the above image is the eau de parfum. The difference lies in the strength of the fragrance and the length of wear. The eau de parfum has a higher oil content and therefore will last longer and have a stronger fragrance. It's usually personal preference for which one people prefer.

You might have gotten the Burberry Brit Sheer instead of the Burberry Brit Eau de Parfum. They do in fact smell different from each other. If I remember correctly the Sheer smells a bit more floral than the Brit Eau de Parfum... hope that helps.

It sounds like you bought the Eau de Toilette instead of the Eau de Parfum. It essentially is the same scent, but the EDP has a higher concentration of perfume concentrates and therefore is stronger and lasts longer.

Burberry Brit in the clear bottle, with white plaid, is the 'eau de toilette' version. The bottle with the black, white, and red plaid is the 'eau de parfum.' These are both alcohol-based, but the edp version does contain a higher percentage of perfume oils, and therefore lasts significantly longer on the skin. I've owned both and I'd recommend the edp version to anyone who likes richer, heavier scents, and the edt to those who enjoy lighter fragrances that don't last a long time. Of course, the price reflects the cost of the materials as well, so the edt is much cheaper than the edp, because there are less parfum oils in the formula.

Sephora has a great return policy and if you mistakenly ordered the wrong product, you probably won't have a problem exchanging it for the one you wanted.

i agree with this question...especially since we are paying the same price for water-based instead of oil-based. bull!

hands down the EDP is ten times better than the EDT..obviously it lasts much longer and the scent is overall much nicer..

For me, always EDP. It lasts longer and mixes with my skin's chemistry in a lovelier way.

I am definitely an eau de parfum fan with Brit. They smell quite different to me. Oddly, the pear and lime seem to come through a bit more for me in the eau de parfum.

the EDT is fresher and lighter. it has a bit of a grapefruit citrus note. the EDP lasts much longer and is more of a warm deeper scent. both are good so its up to you.

Eau de parfum has higher oil content and less alcohol so fragrance will be stronger and last longer. It's usually a personal preference.

I prefer EDP! You don't have to wear as much and the scent last longer, so even though it is more expensive, it is ultimately worth the little extra, because you'll use less and it'll last longer!

EDP is better if you are looking for your perfume to have more staying power. EDP has more of the essential oils in the perfume and in essence last longer through out the day. EDT has more water/alcohol in it so it's lighter in scent and doesn't last as long through the day.

The bottle with the white stipes is usually the edT and the black and red stripes is the edP... However I believe the etP 1 oz only has white stripes(If this is the case it is stupid and confusing)... It should have a sticker on the bottle somewhere that says Eau de parfum or Eau de toilette...

Eau de Parfum is ALWAYS "better" because it is more highly concentrated and lasts longer. With an EDT (short for eau de toilette) you have 4 hours of fragrance AT BEST. An EDP will get you through the work day, but remember to use it more sparingly!

I actually found it at perfumania! You can order it online. I think sephora just doesn't carry it anymore...
