It really depends on how often you use it. If you're only using it once daily it should last 4-6 months depending on how much you use. a little really does go a long way

i originally got this product for a moisturizer and i find that it's actually very drying (( it may just be because i tend to have dry skin to begin with but it does give that "warning" on the bottle)) .. it seems to be helping with my acne though but just not with moisture .. but maybe you'll get different results because i have dry skin and you said you have oily skin .. i'd give it a try .. if you don't like it you could always get another moisturizer like i did and just use it as an acne treatment if it helps you like it seems to be helping me ! hopee this helpss and goodluckk ! =]

You should get Hope in a Bottle. The salicylic acid helps your breakouts and even prevents it. It also helps your T zone from getting oily. :)

I have been using Hope in a Bottle during the day, but it's not enough for my skin at night. I got a sample of the On A Clear Day moisturizer and am using that at night - I think I like it better for night time, as my skin is not as dry when I wake up in the morning. HIAB is great for daytime use though - it's really lightweight and perfect for under makeup.

I recently tried Hope in a Bottle for the first time. I absolutely love it! Usually, moisturizers for acne-prone skin make my breakouts worse, and despite being called "moisturizers", they make my skin dry and irritated. Hope in a Bottle doesn't dry out my skin, gets rid of my breakouts, and improves the texture and tone of my skin. I highly recommend it!

Question
Does this have the same smell as HIAJ?
I hate the smell of Hope in a Jar but can handle it at night. I don't think I could stand it during the day so does Hope in a Bottle smell as bad?

No, it doesn't smell anything like HIAJ. I know what you mean, I really dislike that smell too, but HIAB smells different, and is much less offensive.

It has a medicated smell to it from the salicylic acid I'm guessing. Honestly I think it smells like windex cleaner. But I still use it b'coz I find that it controls my shine well.

Honestly I have not smelled hope in a jar, but when I was looking into buying this many people said it smelled good. In my opinion it smells kind of medicated, but it works so well i don't mind it for night time use.

If you have very oily acne skin. I am 38 and use salilcylic wash everyday and spot treat with Hope Bottle. Just don't start too many other things like AHA's or lactic acids too.

Question
Was this product reformulated so that now there is a strong medicinal scent? Why was it taken out of the regular line-up of skin care products?
I read the reviews about this product. And I used to get it with the kit for congested skin; I used it with no problems. Now there seems not to be a kit for congested skin and all the other kits leave it out. Is there a better product? Does "On a Clear Day" all over moisturizer work the same way?

You can still get Hope in a Bottle in a kit at philosophy.com.I'm not sure why sephora doesn't carry the kit.I hope it isn't getting discontinued. The kit is called makeup optional for congested skin.

I think the two are different. After using both I am still a huge fan of Hope in a Bottle. I think Clear Day has newer products in it. But sometimes the old stuff works just fine by me.

I wish I had an answer for you on this, as I too am wondering why it is no longer included in the kits. It does smell a little medicinal, and when used on my daughter, it's far too strong for her (she's 13), but not for me. I hope it doesn't get replaced!

I'd say morning. It's light-weight and absorbs nicely without leaving a heavy shine. And, if your skin's even the slightest bit sensitive or prone to dryness, you'll need to balance this with a heavier moisturizer, which might leave you greasy.

Salicylic acid shouldn't bother your skin with sun exposure. You should be fine wearing it either/or. Just be sure to put on a sunscreen, just in case. I'd recommend experimenting, just to be safe.

Question
is this product ok for non-oily sensitive skin?
I read the reviews and most people said it helped with their oily skin. I seem to have a few breakouts all the time and I was looking for something to help control it. It's not all over, but I usually have at least one or two breakouts on my face all of the time. I just want to make sure this product would be ok for my sensitive skin and is not that oily. Thanks!

I found that it was quickly absorbed, not oily at all. I DID find it was a bit harsh for my skin, especially the drier parts. Just keep in mind this does have salicylic acid, so if your skin is sensitive to that, Hope in a Bottle MAY be too harsh...I prefer the original Hope moisturizer, it's also quickly absorbed and has formulations for normal to oily and dry to sensitive... Ask for a sample and try before you buy...

I have intermittent issues with adult acne (I am 38), and regular use of this has helped calm that down. I don't have anywhere near the same number of issues when I am committed to using this every day. I hope that helps!

I would say this product is great for oily skin, smoothing texture, and reducing pores. As for anti-aging properties I can't say because I didn't purchase it for that. I haven't particularly noticed fine lines vanishing, but my skin tone seems more balanced. Break-outs and blemishes aren't
as troublesome.
