In Search of Red: anyone tried #522, #523, #525??
I am searching for red that is not orangy nor fuchsia. A bit of blue but classic deep red is what I am looking for.

I went to a few Sephora shops, but they did not have samples of those colors. Could you please tell me what kind of red #522m #523, #525 are??

523 definitely has blue undertones that could read as pink-y on some skins. 525 is a very dramatic blood red, and 522 is probably the "true red" of the three. I wear 523 but wouldn't recommend it for someone who is really looking for a true non-blue red.

I have #525 and it's classified as a true deep red. While it's still a gorgeous color, I've noticed that it has a bit of a deep fuschia undertone on my fair/medium skin with yellow undertones. Hope this helps.

Light/Medium Skin, Blue Eyes, Blonde - 23 yrs. old
I'm looking for a quality red lipstick that won't look garrish. My skin tone is relatively warm although I'm naturally fair skinned and I fluctuate on coloring depending on whether I'm using self-tanner or not. Please see pictures below. Suggestions?

I have Kiss Kiss Stick Gloss in Candy Pink and love it. It is really more of a lipstick than a gloss and with a good lip primer will last longer than any gloss I have tried. It is a full bodied pink with no blue or purple in it. It covers like a lipstick giving good cover. I just love it. If I were to order a similar one in the Kiss Kiss Lipstick, I would try Pinky Boop.

Even with a lip pencil I don;t think the Kiss Kiss lipsticks will last all day.

Which color in the Guerlain lipsticks is a true berry ?
I want to buy a Guerlain Kiss Kiss lipstick for my mother because I love the way they last. She prefers berry shades [red with a bit of purple]. I don't know if the descriptions are accurate so I would like your opinion on the color. The Sephora in my town carries very few colors and none of the ones they carry are what I would call "berry". Your assistance is appreciated. By the way, if you don't know the colors first hand and are going solely on the written descriptions, as I would be, then you can't really be of assistance here.

I wear Excess de Rouge which is described as a berry red. I would say that it reads red on my fair skin, but it definitely has a blue undertone. It's a beautiful color, but if you're looking for something a bit more wine-colored (I'm not totally sure from your description sorry) this is not that. it is a blue-red.

You should try Folie de Grenat which is a deep rich red. I am Filipina and this works very well on my skin.

I don't think they make that color anymore. I LOVE Guerlain lipsticks and I've been wearing them for several years. I've never heard of that color before. Maybe there's an existing color that will work for you.

I have a fair coplexion and hazel eyes, I wear 525 folie de grenat, it really makes the green in my eyes pop out and it looks great with just mascara, I have very clear skin and hardly wear foundation, I have very, very light shadows under my eyes but without all that concelar and foundation you end up looking really beautiful and fresh, even in bright day light,and isn't that what we want gorgeous but natural

I'm not sure you would like this, but I love dark red lipstick. Like the 1920's deep crimson red. And with your features, I think it would look gorgeous. I am also very fair-skinned, so I bought the Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in Folie De Grenat 525. It has excellent staying power, beautiful smell, and I can find nothing wrong with it. And I am VERY picky by the way.

I would go to the nearest Sephora to try all of the Guerlain red shades to get the most striking red for you! Blue red maybe the color of the day, but might not be the "it" red for you. At this price you want to get it right the first time, that's my plan anyway...see you there!
