Question
how to use
i am in my mid 20's, is this gel appropiate for my age? is this an everyday use cream? i have read some reviews that say that it should not be worn every day. Is it enought to prevent the signs of aging?

This gel is not appropriate for your age, you should be using a very light gel for your age or just your facial moisturizer, until you hit thirty, then begin with light eye gel, at 40 go stronger, when you hit 50, then go for the gold! Or when you begin to get the first signs of wrinkles around your eyes, begin with a good gel.

I am 23 and I use it to prevent wrinkles and I use it everyday and I have had no problems with it. Keep in mind though that everyones skin is different. Try Ole's sample kit with a small sample to see if you don't want to buy the full product. (I love his sample products, he actually puts enough of his product in the samle to see results)

I tried a sample of this and it burned and made my skin super red. I have VERY sensitive skin though. I also thought it may be interacting with my other products, so I tried again on a fresh face and it also burned and made my skin red. It seems like a lot of people found this product awesome. So I would say just get a sample and try it at home before you buy. That's the great thing about sephora.

I have extremely sensitive skin and always got red spots when I used other eye creams (and I tried quite a few!). This one is soothing and hasn't caused any redness or irritation in the past two months. Just make sure to only use it at night, as it is a little sticky which makes it uncomfortable during the day.

I have to be very careful with even the type of mascara and eye shadows that I use they are so sensitive! Give it a try! I don't think you will be disappointed! Hope this helps! Aloha!

The Ultimate Lift Eye Gel is natural - I have allergies and asthma and I have never had a problem with it. It is for NIGHT only, though. You can check other Ole Henriksen eye creams for day or check out Caudalie eye creams. Both of these lines are natural and the products are excellent for people with allergies

This one might work, although it's a gel, not a moisturizing cream. Use a minimum amount and spread it sideways from the nose to the temple, then spread just a tiny bit up towards the lower lashes. Don't spread it downwards toward your cheeks- if you have trouble with dryness/redness on your cheeks it will irritate them. Let it dry before going to bed.

No...this is for night time use only. It leaves a residue that you would not be able to put any make up on over it. I have put a very light patting of this on the lower eye mid-day when my eyes were very tired - but that is not what this eye product is recommended for. I would point you toward Nude eye cream for day use (Rachael Zoe swears by it and I found fab results for depuffing instantly as well as decrease of dark circles over time from it. If the price is too stiff for you on the Nude eye cream, I would recommend Benefit Eye Con - it's been a fablous day eye cream for me for years and I RARELY stay with any one product. I am always it seems on the search for a new, better product...but I always have a back up jar of Benefit Eye Con, OH Eye Gel, & Peter Thomas Roth Meg Eye cream.

I use Obaji Elastiderm Eye Gel and it's amazing. It worked in about a month and my lids are no longer saggy. I did just buy this today at Sephora, because I wanted to rid myself of the puffiness I am getting lately. I like the cooling affect this gel has, however, I can't tell you how it works yet. But I have used the Obaji for over a year. It's a great product.

You need to go into a Sephora store to get samples. It's rare when you order on line they will have exactly what you want to try and if they do, it's only in a very small packet. In the stores they will make up a bigger sample for you (ASK for more if you don't think they gave you enough and they will put more in the pot for you typically). I am with you, esp on the eye creams - I HAVE to try them first because too many of them make me tear up or have too much Vit C and they burn my eyes. I have not have any sensitivity to this great NIGHT TIME eye treatment gel - and I DO as I said, have a lot of reactions to eye products. If you are not able to go into a Sephora store to get a sample, Sephora always has a GREAT return policy in store and on line - 100% product guarantee within 30 days of purchase.

Hey there! Yes go to Sephora and if they are out of it (or even if they're not out of it) they are always happy to give you a little sample of whatever you want to try. Their samples usually last for a good week or so too! I have done this with tons of products there. Some samples have been GREAT and I end up buying the products. I sampled this particular product because it was on back order and I'm glad I sampled it, because I didn't really like it much. I have puffy eyes in the morning and slightly puffy upper eyelids (not so much lower lids) and I didn't notice any difference. Plus I don't really like the gel feeling - I prefer a cream even if it's light for the eyes over a gel.

If you are close to a Sephora store, you can ask for a sample; they should be able to put a small amount in a tiny container for you. This is the best way to try a product...but if you're ordering online, a sample may or may not be available, as product availability changes.

This gel is not super hydrating if that is what you are looking for. I use an OH product for eyes that is yet to hit Sephora - it's brand new - a serum in the truth line from OH that exfoliates around the eyes - it's $75 but well worth it. Then I use this eye gel. After that sets up for about 15 mins because I do use it pretty heavy - I apply Peter Thomas Roth Max Eye to get the moisturizer I need...however some nights, I skip it and do find I have enough hydration from a thick coat of this eye gel. It's still well hydrated in the AM when I wake up.

In my opinion, this works very well to reduce puffiness (though bags may be genetic, and no product can cure them if they are) - it brightens the eye area. However, I found it to be drying (not moisturizing at all), and it did not smooth or hydrate my fine lines.

Question
Can this product cause red bumps on the eye lid?
I received a sample of this product on 7/13/10. I used it for the first time that night and put it into the refrigerator. I used it again on the 14th right from the refrigerator, then used it the same way again last night, and this morning and my right eyelid was swollen with multiple tiny red bumps on it, and a few on my left eyelid, but not as bad. On my way into work the swelling subsided, still a little swollen and the dots are still there and are sensitive. Do you think it could be from this product? It is just strange if it was from this product why did it take 3 nights of application before I got the reaction?

it might be an allergic reaction to one or some of the ingredients in the product. I didn't have any allergic reactions to this eye gel, but I did have a horrible reaction to a clinique acne solution moisturizer and it caused red bumps all over my face. I tried the refrigerator trick too. Nothing the first couple of times, but after about the third time I did get a red bump directly below my eye. I didn't put any on my lids, just on the brow area and below my eyes. I stopped refrigerating it, and didn't have any more problems.

You should probably go see a dermatologist or your family doctor. Maybe you just had a wierd reaction based on your skin profile, not from somethhing wrong with the product.

This sounds like an allergic reaction - I would go to a doctor or a dermatologist and explain when it occurred as well as the specific products you were using. Only a dermatologist (or regular doctor) should answer questions and concerns about possible allergic reactions to products.

This gel did exactly the same thing to me! It took a few days for the rash to develop, so maybe it's a cumulative effect. It itched like crazy, too!
