What it is:An antioxidant-rich brightening and nourishing serum enriched with vitamin C. What it is formulated to do:Look forward to a bright future—daily. Formulated with a proprietary five-source vitamin C complex to support natural collagen production, brighten, and minimize fine lines, this must-have serum defends from environmental aggressors and free radical damage, leaving skin healthy and protected. It is enriched with green tea extract and sodium hyaluronate to nurture and nourish. This lightweight and oil-free formula quickly absorbs into skin while the iconic uplifting citrus scent pampers your skin and your senses. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Phthalates What else you need to know:Not all vitamin C is created equal. Vitamin C is the primary water-soluble antioxidant in the body, disarming free radicals and preventing damage both inside and outside cells. Ole Henriksen has harnessed the power of vitamin C by creating a proprietary “5-C” complex to repair, protect, and nourish. How the complex works: - Orange extract supports natural cell turnover and purifies. - Grapefruit extract brightens with antiseptic and aromatic qualities. - Rose hips seed extract heals, repairs damage, and soothes. - Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is very stable, safe, and non-irritating—the key to production of collagen. - Ester-c (Calcium Ascorbate) is a highly stable natural form of vitamin C found naturally in the body.

This is a serum and serums are used after your toner but before your moisturizer (don't use this instead of your moisturizer). Its supposed to be gentle enough to use morning and night. some people do have sensitive skin so playing with it and finding out what works best for you is what i would recommend. I use mine usually just in the morning (although i don't have especially sensitive skin) and the ole henriksen night gel at bedtime. Sometimes though i do use this in the morning and at night. Hope this helps.

I got a smaller bottle of the serum in the Three LIttle Wonders set (no longer available) and the directions that came with the set recommended using it before moisturizing 2x a day, once in the AM and once in the PM. I usually only use it 1x a day (I still see the effects). I apply it to dry skin after cleansing, wait for the serum to dry (less than a minute) and then apply a vit. c moisturizer. I will say that although I have rather sensitive skin, I can use it 2x a day without irritation. Hope that helps!

The over-reactive response to "Do some research and find out for yourself." was taken out of context and not mean at all. "Luxurious from NY" stated that it's best to use at night, and due to oxidation it was less effective during the day. We all have to find out for ourselves as all of our skin-types are very different...ergo "research and find out for yourself ". I find the serum is too strong to use twice a day on my sensitive, and in fact every-other-night use is my answer.

Poeple ask questions like this to get feedback. Answers like"Do some research and find out youself" are NOT helpfull. They are also just plain MEAN. If you cant answer the question, why tell someone with a legit question to "find out themselvs"? Only the worst kind of person would waste the time of people with the same question with an answer like that. Here is an idea. If you can't answer the question properly, DON'T!!!! Thank you Sephora staff, for an answer that was helpful. You can always count on Sephora!!!! :) Let's see if this get posted!

I have some sun spots along my cheeckbones. My aesthetician recommended that I use products with vitamin C during the day to help protect my skin from getting more sun spots. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant, so it helps to fight environmental damage that you wouldn't be around at night. However, I have also used it at night when I travel so that I don't have to take 2 serums with me.

I would not recommend using vitamin C during the day, it oxides and looses its effect, it is best used at night. Do some research and find out for yourself.

This item can be used day or night (whichever you prefer). The skin does more repair while we sleep, however the vitamin c in the product provides anti-oxidant protection, so most prefer using this in the daytime.
Apply on clean skin, prior to your moisturizer. Apply to the face, neck, decollete, hands, etc (avoid the eye area). Using an SPF is key to any anti-aging regimen, make sure to use a sunscreen daily.

This product is very hydrating and not moisturizing, meaning it adds water to the skin, not oils. I would suggest using it before any oil-based products. Applying it first will allow your skin to absorb it then you can seal the skin, if you will, with a more moisturizing/oil-based product. The serum is closer to water than oil.

I would use it under the argan oil because the product is very light. I would also let it soak in a minute or two. Your skin won't feel dry after using this product, so I would think the argan oil will go on quite nicely. I would definately use this product first though, I think the argan oil will make a barrier and keep the serum from getting into your skin.

in the steps of the kit i got i believe it goes on first, but if you are looking for a moist base to put on the oil after, this wont work too well as it dries very fast and seems to leave a dry soft layer on the skin. i noticed after using it and then applying a cream over it that it would rehydrate the serum and rearange it on my face haha, not sure if that made sense? see if you can get a sample in stores and try it at home under the oil and cream.

The product instructions highly recommend that you apply the serum befor you apply your moisurizer. You can use the serum alone, without any moisurizer, but as for me I have dry skin so I always apply a moisturizer. If I plan on being outside I make sure the moisurizer also has SPF included to protect my skin. I hope this information helps fellow Sephora beauty.

I also had acne and scarring while using this product. It either has a slow healing process of removing dark spots, or it's just not the best product for it. However, it did not cause acne. In fact, it did help subside it for me. I used a combination of an acne cleaner, followed by the Ole serum, and a moisturizer. Waking up the next day, my skin was soft and the acne slowly healed or scarred. This product works well if it goes in hand with an acne cleanser, and moisture cream.

Great for acne-prone skin!
My face will breakout in a heartbeat and since using this serum (2 months now) a have not had a breakout. I have had two very small pimples appear (not together) and both disappeared within a day or two. I betting hormones or stress and convinced that this product kept an actual breakout at bay. It lasts a long time and the scent is wonderful - orange creamsicle.

I am 20 years old and this serum is a holy grail product for me. I have very oily skin and it's helped keep my oil at bay and gives my skin a gorgeous healthy glow. My skin has seriously never looked better. It isn't heavy like other anti-aging serums it's very light. I almost think it is more appropriate for women in their 20's and 30's. Just try it girl, you won't be disappointed!

I don't see why it would be harmful. I would think the sooner the better to prevent damage. Vitamin C can make you more sensitive to the sun so if you are spending a lot of time exposing you face to the sun, I would limit use to only at night. Although, if you are getting a lot of exposure, then you might want to use this product that much sooner. I'm 33 now and started using this when I was 29 and love it!

You don't NEED it at your age, but it is a wonderful product, and cannot hurt you unless you are allergic to some ingredient in it. It is a vitamin C serum, for brightening and collagen boosting of the skin...you have plenty of collagen in your early twenties, so I'd save your money for now...

I hate to say it, but I broke out terribly after about 2-3 weeks of using this product. My cheeks became raw and enflamed and I had tiny blemishes all over. I'm not prone to acne, so I was shocked at how bad the reaction was.

This product did not cause my skin to break out. However, it does clean out pores, so you may have a little redness or areas of irritation for the first few days (only 2 or 3 days for me). Then skin is very clear and not red at all. Check the ingredients listed to see if there are any you may be allergic to.

These products are meant to work in synergy. Truth serum is packed with antioxidants and works to brighten the complextion. Pure Truth (the oil) supports Truth Serum as a follow up moisturizer, with simple ingredients - Rosehip Seed Oil, Tangerine Peel Oil, Lemongrass Oil, Vitamin E. I have tried both and can tell you that the oil really helps to accelerate the results, plus its really lightweight, so even if you don't see yourself using an oil (it is natural and non-comedogenic) it absorbs quickly and truly repairs skin.
