In combination with the invigorating night gel, I didn't find this product to make me break out at all. I also found that it's legitimately effective on my dark spots.

Yes I broke out BIG time with this cream. It gave me about 5 huge welts on my face, I'm going to return it.

ALL of the ole henrikson products make me break out like crazy on my forehead and nose (little bumps that sometimes grow into larger ones, general irritation), but they do wonders for my cheeks and chin (supremely glowy skin, got rid of acne) which is why I continue to buy them, as nothing else has worked as well. I suspect it might be because the products exfoliate your skin so fast that the skin cells get caught in the oil your t-zone areas produce and cause breakouts. Or maybe years of intense acne meds on my t-zone have changed the skin there? Who knows.

I consider myself to have very sensitive skin, also borderline rosacea. Almost always red in the cheeks. I did not experience any breakouts from this product. I think a little goes a VERY long way. Be sure you aren't using too much.

I did notice some breakouts on my neck & throat area. If I don't use it there every day, then I don't seem to break out. I'm not happy with this product.

Yes, I broke out from it as well! It didn't absorb into my skin so I took it back and exchanged it. Ask for some samples for a couple of products to try out :)

I broke out from it as well, and just stopped using it. I got it to combat acne scars, and, ironically, I now have even more, (since it made me break out). It's a very drying product, and I would recommend something much more hydrating for people with sensitive/acneic skin.

In terms of Ole Henriksen stuff, I'd say go with Vitamin Plus instead. It's quite light and formulated for combo/oily skin.

Actually, I wouldn't think so...I believe it is meant for more mature or combination skin so it might end up being too emolient for you even though it goes on pretty light. I would go to the Ole Henrikson web site and look at other products in the line geared more toward your skin issues.

It's a very lightweight moisturizer. But I've found that it pills if you have any other skincare products on.

In other reviews I see where it has caused people some acne. Then for me; I have acne-prone skin and its very sensitive and reactive; The cream caused me cyst like pimples and burned my skin. If you are at all acne-prone, I wouldn't risk it.

I have basically the same skin as you! I am on acne medication to keep my skin blemish-free, and have very oily skin. This product does not irritate my skin at all

If you are happy with the Herbal Day Cream I might suggest Using this at night time....

Sheer Transformation makes a great night cream, so, I definitely recommend using it at night. However, it's not greasy at all, so you could definitely use it during the day, as well. I would put the Sheer Transformation on first, and then use the Herbal with the spf. I think you'll really like it! Good luck ::)

I would probably use the day creme with SPF during the day and the sheer transformation in the evenings. No need for SPF in the sleepytime hours. =)

I have tried both products and have found the herbal day cream to be a bit heavier in texture than the sheer transformation cream. I would suggest the herbal cream if your skin tends to be on the drier side or if you live in a very dry climate, or get very harsh winters. I don't think I would layer the two creams, this is probably a plot to get you to buy more product!

Can't say for sure so of course ask your doc BUT I can tell you that this product is incredibly gentle on the skin and basically emiminated the slight redness i have throughout my cheek area and drastically decreased the redness in all my broken caps!

It has made a huge difference in my Rosacea AND the two big sun spots on the right side of my face. Noticed a difference within about 2 weeks of regular (am/pm) use. Very surprising in a very good way. Really like this product

I use this in conjunction with Tazorac gel. After cleansing my skin and removing my make up I wait a bit and apply the Tazorac. I wait about 30-60 minutes and then apply this cream. I used it one night and had no bad reaction. Take in mind, a little goes a long way.

Yes, this works as a moisturizer. The dimithicones will help seal in moisture. Unless the benzoyl is giving you extremely dry skin. I have oily skin and this is the perfect moisturizer for me..

Wether or not you want to use this as your moisturizer depends on how much moisture you need. This is a very thin, lightweight lotion, not a "creme" like the bottle says. If you have been using a thicker, more hydrating cream at night, you probably don't want to use this in its place, as your skin might get dry.

I had this problem for many years, esp summer time out in the sun and it was caused by my birth control pills. I was on a higher-dose estrogen which can cause the pigmentation on the upper lip (and cheeks, forhead, etc.) when skin is exposed to sun called MELASMA. I switched to a lower-dose estrogen birth-control pill, used a prescription hydroquinone cream from my derm, and used Shisedo face cream SPF 55 on the area when in the sun and it eventually went away. I feel your pain.......

Look for something with Hydraquinone in it. Or something with AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) You would have to use it very regularly and continue to cover that area religiously with sunscreen. There is a body lotion called AMLACTIN that has a pretty good price point for what you get that has AHA, but being for the body and not the face might be more dilute than you want

I used to get that type of hyperpigmentation a lot when I was using harsh products for acne. Now I've been using hydrating, all-natural products (which this definitely isn't- try Pangea, Juice Beauty, etc.) for sensitive/normal skin. My skin looks a lot better, and I never get the mustache anymore, even when I'm tired. Try being nicer to your skin, (ie, dermatologist, and harsh scrubbing products are probably not the way to go)!

I've been using this for a few months and the area has lightened. I would suggest the Clarisonic if you're not using it already. It minimized the pores so that the area was even lighter.

i use this as a moisturizer day and night, and add sunscreen if needed. :)

I have combination skin and it definitely works great as a moisturizer for me, though I'm not sure if it's marketed as one... I don't know if it'd be appropriate for really dry skin though?

I have used it as a moisturizer for 4 years. However, I recommend using a serum along with for best results and hydration. I love the Truth Serum: Collagen Booster.

I purchased this because I had Acne scars on my cheek and it has really helped.

I bought this product for the very same purpose and it didn't work at all. It made my skin red and irritated and it didnt help at all so I returned it...awful product.

I suggest trying a powder sunscreen. There are two excellent ones that you can put on after all your makeup, that don't look like you have powder on. Plus, you can re-apply any time since they both come in portable powder brushes. In my opinion these are miracle products that everyone should use! They totally save my skin from breakouts and irritation.

Sephora has a decent one, Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral spf 30 or 45. I wouldn't suggest the "Oily Problem Skin" version of this product though; it cakes on your skin and creates a sheen.

My absolute favorite is ColoreScience Sunforgettable SPF 30 Brush in All Clear. The brush is great, the right amount of product comes out, and it's invisible and water-resistant. It will make you stop breaking out from that layers of liquid sunscreen, moisturizer, and foundation you might use.

Also, I don't recommend the Bare Escentuals powder sunscreen (which Sephora has). It cakes on your skin, creates a gross oily sheen, and makes you look old and greasy at once. Bleh.

Hope in a Jar with SPF by Philosophy is a great daytime SPF with light moisturizing like Sheer Transformation as well as additional skin protection. Also -- good news! -- Hope in a Jar with SPF has Sephora's Natural Seal, so it's without those harmful parabens and chemicals, just like Sheer Transformation. Hope this helps!

It didn't cause me to break out, but the product has a number of silicones which can clog your pores.

I just wanted to update my question. I bought sheer transformation about 4 days ago and as of today I have 7 new blemishes and I feel a couple more coming. I am not sure if it's detoxing my skin or what! I will give it a week and if my skin doesn't come around I will return it.
