Is anti-aging okay to use for 17 yr old?
I just read reviews and this product seems very good. Just dont know if the anti aging would effect me.

By anti-aging, all they're referring to is the presence of glycolic acid and salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is just the active ingredient in aspirin, and is present in many acne treatments targeting skin of all ages, including teens. Glycolic acid gently dissolves the topmost layer of the epidermis, encouraging skin cell turnaround and exposing the youthful, light-reflecting cells underneath, creating a more radiant, young appearance. Because you are 17, your topmost layer of the epidermis is probably already very light-reflective, so the effect of the glycolic acid on your face likely won't be noticeable, but it won't hurt you. All you're doing is speeding up cell renewal. Personally, I think you're never too young to start age-preventing good habits.

It depends on how oily your skin is. This product helps me with acne and I am 23. If is too strong, you might try using it every other day. When I was in the store, the sales rep told me that I should try using it once a week first. I liked it so much that I use it every day though.

The main ingredients Salicylic and Glycolic are good for acne and oily skin as well, so if u have concerns with Acne or oily skin, no matter your age, this cleanser would be great. If not, stick to a more basic cleanser like Purity by Philosphy

I think the earlier you start taking care of your skin the better. Not saying you need to worry about aging at your age but Id start in early 20s. Try to prevent it as opposed to dealing with it once it's happened. I say if you can fight acne and aging in one product, why not do it?! It can't hurt.

Is it too harsh for my skin?
This product contains salicylic acid which is good for acne. But I do not have a problem with acne even thought I have some blemishes and zits occationally. I am 21 and I have a combination skin type. Would anti-aging chemicals be too harsh on my skin? I am debating between this product and DDF 5%glycolic acid cleanser. thanks

This product is wonderful. Besides you want to keep your face youthful looking as long as possible. This is also has a brightner and Glycolic Acid which in time those blemishes should become lighter, so long as you wear your SPF.

5% Glycolic is way too harsh for daily use. It'll strip your skin and greatly increase your risk of sun damage. I have combo skin. I'd say PTR is ok for daily cleansing for mild acne. It might dry your skin out a little, though.

Anti-aging cleansers are more preventative. As we age, our skin will stop exfoliating itself naturally, so we need all the help we can get. This is a clinical skincare line. You are fine to use this cleanser, but make sure not to remove your eye makeup with it because the eye area is so sensitive - also if it gets in your eyes, it will burn.

I am 21 years old and I was kinda reluctant to try this product when the girl recommended it to me. My skin is acne prone and this product keeps those breakouts in check. The chemicals are not too harsh for my combination oily skin (during the summer) or my dry skin (during the winter).
I would definitely recommend this product and I swear my it. My skin feels so good with every use. A little bit goes a long way as well and a bottle lasts several months.
If anything I would go to your local Sephora store and ask for a sample that would last a few days so you could try it out before you commit.

Dear 21 year old,,,, yes you can use this and bank alot od savings. You only need 1 drop to do the job I stress thsi because more will not give better results. This product will not irritate sensitive skin buts improves skin w/o any sort of oil or harness. remember just a drop will do your face.
don't use under your eyes or on lips... you most likely know that but just stating any way . If you don't get good results Sephora will gladly take back. I have had no problem w/ returns. save receipt I just throw mine under bathroom sink cab., just in case I ever need..

The glycolic acid in these products is what will exfoliate and dry your skin. If u are sensitve skin, then any glycolic acid cleanser would probably be too harsh for u. The Glycolic acid can irritate your skin, make it red and burn if u are not used to it. The PTR only has 1% GA, the one your talkin about u said has 5% glycolic acid, so that would def prob be too harsh for your skin.

1% salicylic acid isn't going to hurt a bit, and neither will the anti-aging chemicals in this! i'm your age and i use this cleanser too. it's the best thing i've ever purchased! makes your skin practically flawless. be sure to use a good moisturizer with it so your skin doesn't get too dry.

When mixing skin products on sensitive skin, I too would be very cautious and consult my dermatologist. I think I would follow this more for anti-aging and anti-acne products.

Ouch! I wouldn't advise using both(unless your skin is tough). Check with your doctor first. Retin-A should be doing the trick just fine. If not, see if you can get a stronger strength and stay with a gentle cleanser.

This cleanser PTR's Anti-aging cleansing gel on the back says exactly that it is not recommended for very sensitive skin, eczema, seborrhea, rosacea, or Retin-A users. Here is my recommendation: If you wish to stay in this skin care line. Try the sensitive skin cleanser that PTR has at Sephora. I don't know what to tell you about other anti-aging cleansers but just do research and you'll find the right one for you. :)

I used this with my clarisonic and after a week my skin was raw, cracked, and breaking out like crazy. Either too much exfoliation or just a bad product. I love my clarisonic but I returned this cleanser.

I use this cleanser with my Mia. I use a ponds cloth to wipe off my makeup before, just because I don't want to get the brush covered with make-up. I don't recommend using the Mia every night because I feel like there can be a little to much exfoliating. But overall, I think this is a great cleanser to use with Mia.

I too am 14, and i began using this, and my skin suffered a SEVERE reaction, it was like a sunburn on my face, in the middle of winter, it was red, blotchy, and peeled. NOT TO MENTION ITCHY. this is deffinatly not for 14 year olds.

If it works for you and you didn't notice any harshness then you should continue. It's a miracle product. Sometimes people lean too heavily on labeled terms when they give beauty advice (for example, even though this is "anti-aging" and may seem inapproporiate for your age group, it has half the salicylic acid as anti-acne products). As with most things in life, do what works.

I agree, I would not recommend using this product on your eyes. It contains Glycolic and Salicylic acid, which will be too harsh on the eye area.

I take off my eye make up with a eye make up remover first and then wash my face. I try not to rub the eye area with this wash as the eye area is more sensitive. I follow up with a eye moisterizer after. Remember salicylic Acid removes oils from you face.

The directions say "for external use only" and it also contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which burns some people when it gets into their eyes (you'll know how it feels if you've ever gotten body wash in your eye). This is a face wash, not an eye wash. AHA is Alpha Hydroxy ACID (i.e. not something that's ever recommended for the eye area). I generally keep the foam away from my eye region, and close my eyes when I rinse. Stick to something specifically formulated for eye makeup. Unless you like the burn...?

I've used this product for over 3 years and after 1 year purchased the Clarisonic which i love. I noticed though that bc of the glycolic acid in the face wash it infused in my skin more effectively but dried it out. I no longer use my ultrasonic with my cleanser only hands and my face is completely clear and healthy

I use it every night with my clarisonic. I have combination skin, including some dry areas. It does not irritate and because it exfoliates try drier areas are being normalized. Give it a try.

I use this with my clarisonic, but I only use my clarisonic twice a week as my skin is combo and not oily. However using this with the clarisonic helps keep the pores in my T zone clean and they appear smaller.

I think you can use this product itself without using any other cleanser. This cleanser is pretty strong. I've combination skin and after using this product, my skin became really dry that I've to use strong cream moisturizer "NUDE".

Personally, I would try using it with the Clarisonic maybe twice a week and see how your skin feels. If it doesn't feel too dry, up your usage. When I first started using, my skin felt tighter and I used nightly moisturizer. Also, I've noticed that I need to use just a very small amount of soap at all. Hope this helps!

I use this gel with my Clarisonic Mia and it works well...just stick to a 1-2 minute time limit. The gel does not foam as much as you'd expect but the results are good!

I would be very careful using this every day with your Clarisonic, especially if you have dry/combination skin. My combination skin is starting to get very dry with the winter season, so I'm starting to alternate from this to another, more gentler cleanser. If you're more on the dry side, I would suggest alternating this cleanser with another, especially since the Clarisonic enhances the product's results.

With over 50 skin, the lower 1% glycolic acid content will be more gentle. Unless you have oily skin, the 3% AHA is probably too high for mature skin.

This is a great "Mid Age" cleanser and I would use it only once a day to start. Pair it up with a weekly dose of "brazilian peel" and you will have really terrific results.

I would recommend using the Anti-aging gel, as it is formulated for all skin types, whereas the 3% glycolic is catered more toward oilier skin.
