Yes, it is a primer with skincare benefits so you do not need another primer with it :-)

It is both a primer and Skincare item. It corrects as it primes.

The lady at the Lancôme counter told me that this is a combination of a primer and a skin treatment but I use this as a primer. It works well with foundation and CC creams, and provides a smooth base for makeup application. I have also noticed a mattifying effect that may work well with those with an oiler complexion.

This does have silicone in it and is similar in texture to most primers if not silkier.

It's more of a serum consistency- not as thick as a lotion. Don't know about the silicone.

Chock full of silicones! If you are sensitive, beware. This does not have a lotion like consistency. It sits on the skin like any other silicone primer.

Yes, this would go on after your moisturizer and replace your primer.

I do use Lancome Visionnaire as my face primer. I allow it to set for a couple of minutes before applying my foundation. Visionnaire helps to smooth over my visible pores and it diminishes the ruddiness in my cheeks.

How is this different from the regular Visionnaire or La Base, primer etc...

Visionairre CX is a serum that goes under your moisturizer. Blur has skincare benefits similar to the serum just not as intense, but also functions as your makeup primer. La Base is a traditional primer. If you like the idea of a primer that also takes care of your skin, go with Blur, it is amazing in the skin even without makeup! A little goes a long way! You don't need both Blur and La Base together. It's all about choices!

answer 2
Visionnaire is a serum that works from below and above to correct imperfections. La Base is a great basic primer that gives a flawless look. Visionnaire Blur is a primer with half of the beneficial properties of the serum while acting as a instant pore filler, soft focused texture corrector. You can use Visionnaire serum and blur together, but not blur and la base together as they are both silicone based primers and would not sit well together.

According to Lancôme staff, this is a combination of both a primer and a serum/skin treatment. I use this as a primer. I moisturize first then apply this and it works well under my foundation and CC cream. I was told that it provides ongoing skin benefits, but I haven't really noticed that yet perhaps that's because I already use the Visionnaire serum nightly (which I think is terrific!).

Question
Says it Exfoliates, flaking skin problems?
The Lancome site says it's a skin care treatment not a primer. Yet, the instructions don't tell you to apply before primer.

Just says apply before foundation. Lancome ladies are selling this as a skin care & foundation primer.

If it's going to have exfoliating ingredients, will my skin 'exfoliate' and get flaky under foundation?

Do some primers have exfoliating chemicals in them that I didn't know about?

It is considered to be a primer with skincare benefits. I have never had any issue with flaking since using it. I think if you exfoliate regularly and keep consistent with your skin routine you won't have any problem. I love the way my makeup looks over Blur and getting some additional skin benefits is great too!

The porefection all smooths and primes, but this literally blurs and gives an airbrushed look to skin. Waaaay better than The porefessionl!

I've tried both. The Porefessional is a much better product at a better price. Porefessional blurred my lines and filled pores much better, it isn't heavily fragranced and it doesn't break me out. Can't say the same for the Lancome.

Helps reduce redness?
I know this is supposed to help even out skin tone but does it do anything to blur redness too? I find my face to be flushed every now and then, especially when I'm super tired.

This does not reduce redness- sorry. I have rosacea and this does not help that condition at all. I use another Lancome produce that evens out skintone for that.

I found this product to not live up to its claims at all. I would not consider layering it with the Smashbox. I think the two together would be too thick and too gummy. Consider Clarins Beauty Flash Balm instead.

I think Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and Lancome's Visionnaire are both great products. My experience has been that Beauty Flash Balm is a light creamy formula which leaves skin feeling moisturized, but yet it helps my foundation to wear longer throughout the day, and it gives my skin a dewy finish (but not oily). I have visible pores and I don't think Beauty Flash Balm does much to diminish the look of my pores. Whereas, Lancome's Visionnaire is a thicker formulation. This primer does diminish the look of my pores and it minimizes the ruddiness in my cheeks. I hope this is helpful.

They are very different products. Whereas the Beauty Flash Balm is a lotion like consistency and actually absorbs into my skin, this product is just a glorified silicone primer. I got a deluxe sample and I hated it. It smells awful, very heavily fragranced. And it broke my skin out very bad. I think Benefit's Porefessional is a much better product at a better price. This didn't blur lines significantly and it didn't add any vibrance to my skin. I was thoroughly unimpressed with this product. If you like the Flash Balm, stick with it. This doesn't compare.
