Tria Age-Defying Laser

What it is:An FDA-cleared, fractional non-ablative laser technology for at-home use. What it does:The Age-Defying Laser sends targeted beams of light deep within the skin to support natural collagen production the exact same way that the professional treatments do. It treats skin from within: beams of light penetrate the skin to create microscopic zones of cellular disruption. The skin feels warm, but the surface is left undisturbed. It stimulates natural healing: the body's natural healing process springs to action, working to rapidly heal the treated areas by stimulating natural collagen production. It supports new collagen: as new collagen forms, fine lines, wrinkles, and imperfections are naturally sloughed away. Research results:Women who used the laser in clinical studies reported a number of visible improvements to their skin, including enhanced clarity, smoothness, and radiance. After 4 weeks participants reported: - 76% saw a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles - 87% saw a more youthful and radiant complexion - 95% saw smoother skin - 92% said it works better than any cream or serum

Questions & Answers for Tria Age-Defying Laser

Question
How long does it take for one treatment
I have the Tria hair laser and it takes so much time to get one treatment done on one leg that I was wondering how long it takes you to finish your face.

It depends on the level you put the tria on. You want to start at level 1, which is a minute, level 2 is two minutes and level 3 is three minutes.

answer 2
the treatment is divided into four sections, forehead, right, left and chin/upper lip. The settings determine the treatment time, depending on which of the three settings you use, you would treat each area for either 1,2 or 3 minutes so the total treatment will range from 4-12 minutes depending on the setting.

Don't do it. I did and at first I thought it was helping the little red broken cappilaries but now they are worse and one has turned black.

IT IS VERY DRYING. My skin has not recovered and my mom came down with a case of seborreah, extreme irritation and dryness.

I did notice the area around my lips getting dried out. I am exfoliating more and applying a moisturizer when I didn't before. I've gotten a lot of compliments on how my skin glows!

Question
Freckles?
I notice on the site it says shouldn't be used to combat freckles, no results seen in that area. I have lots of other issues I'd like addressed, but just wondering what, if anything, this DOES to freckles?

I have sort of a tan complexions with lots of dark freckles, it didn't do anything to my freckles - they're not darker or lighter. I was worried before using it, and though I got hyperpigmentation from the unit in other areas, nothing happened to my freckles.

I had to postpone Retin A while using this due to major irritation and redness using both. Since temporarily stopping Retin A, skin recovers, redness resolved by morning and no sandpaper skin.

Yes, Sephora online has the Tria prepping cleanser and finishing serum. They are listed with the Tria family of products on the Sephora website. I'm not sure if they are in stores.

Question
Does this laser give the same results as microdermabrasion?
I'm wondering if the tria age-defying laser produces the same results as microderm? I have fair skin and it's oily with some dry patches. I'm 40. I have great results with microderm (decreased oil and pore size and soft smooth even skin) but i can't afford that and the laser. Does anyone know if this takes the place of microderm treatments?

For me it did not take their place, it greatly improved my skin but at 55, I still do some home microdermabrasion. Just not as often. It does not give me that super smooth porcelain type look as microdermabrasion does but it does a much much better job on lines
