Tria Age-Defying Laser

What it is:An FDA-cleared, at-home, fractional laser that treats multiple signs of visible aging on the entire face. What it does:The Age-Defying Laser supports the natural production of collagen and elastin to diminish multiple signs of visible aging on the entire face for a more youthful, radiant, and refreshed look in as little as two weeks. Using the same fractional laser technology as professional in-office treatments, it works by sending targeted beams of light deep within the skin to support natural collagen production. As new collagen forms, fine lines, wrinkles, and imperfections are naturally sloughed away. It’s clinically proven, dermatologist recommended, and users say it works better than antiaging creams, lotions, or serums. Research results:Women who used the laser in clinical studies reported a number of visible improvements to their skin, including enhanced clarity, smoothness, and radiance. After 4 weeks participants reported: - 76% saw a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles - 87% saw a more youthful and radiant complexion - 95% saw smoother skin - 92% said it works better than antiaging creams, lotions, or serums

Questions & Answers for Tria Age-Defying Laser

Question
At what age should I start using this?
I am turning 27 in a month from now and I was wondering at what age do I start using this laser? I obviously do not have very noticeable wrinkles but will this prevent wrinkles if I use it?

It would not be recommended to use this products for problems that "might happen" as there are many, many different things that can be the cause of skin problems and there is no way to foresee them. If you use it now and continue to use a product that your skin/body does not need it may actually end up causing problems instead of using it only when it's needed.

If you are 27 and do not have any major visible signs of aging (and most 27 year-olds DON"T), please save your money and enjoy your youthful skin! :-)

I read the study (which is available on the Tria Web site) and I remember that there was some success with age spots. The Tria does not officially have the indication for age spots however. I also remember that some of the testers experienced hyper pigmentation. Maybe this is why. I would contact them if this is your primary concern.

Question
Freckles?
I notice on the site it says shouldn't be used to combat freckles, no results seen in that area. I have lots of other issues I'd like addressed, but just wondering what, if anything, this DOES to freckles?

I have sort of a tan complexions with lots of dark freckles, it didn't do anything to my freckles - they're not darker or lighter. I was worried before using it, and though I got hyperpigmentation from the unit in other areas, nothing happened to my freckles.

It depends on the level you put the tria on. You want to start at level 1, which is a minute, level 2 is two minutes and level 3 is three minutes.

answer 2
the treatment is divided into four sections, forehead, right, left and chin/upper lip. The settings determine the treatment time, depending on which of the three settings you use, you would treat each area for either 1,2 or 3 minutes so the total treatment will range from 4-12 minutes depending on the setting.

Question
Acne Scars?
A Sephora staff recommended me this device to help with my acne scars. I have some mild scars - slight indentations and pigmentations. I have not read a review by a buyer who has similar issue as mine. Does anyone know if this will be effective on lessening acne scars? Thanks!

The whole idea is that it helps rebuild collagen which plumps the skin. That, in turn, should help with acne scars. I have had success with red marks left over from acne lessening using this.

I noticed it helps with pigmentation. I don't know how much it will help with indentation, but since it improves skin texture, I would say it will help make your skin look smoother.

I had to postpone Retin A while using this due to major irritation and redness using both. Since temporarily stopping Retin A, skin recovers, redness resolved by morning and no sandpaper skin.

The 90 day is just for triabeauty.com. It looks like Sephora has a 60 day return policy. Tria covers the devices for 1 year for any manufacturing defects also.

It is ok as long as there are no open wounds. The instruction manual does say however that you should not use it if you are recovering from professional
cosmetic treatments such as a skin peel or skin resurfacing.
