Tria Age-Defying Laser

What it is:An FDA-cleared, at-home, fractional laser that treats multiple signs of visible aging on the entire face. What it does:The Age-Defying Laser supports the natural production of collagen and elastin to diminish multiple signs of visible aging on the entire face for a more youthful, radiant, and refreshed look in as little as two weeks. Using the same fractional laser technology as professional in-office treatments, it works by sending targeted beams of light deep within the skin to support natural collagen production. As new collagen forms, fine lines, wrinkles, and imperfections are naturally sloughed away. It’s clinically proven, dermatologist recommended, and users say it works better than antiaging creams, lotions, or serums. Research results:Women who used the laser in clinical studies reported a number of visible improvements to their skin, including enhanced clarity, smoothness, and radiance. After 4 weeks participants reported: - 76% saw a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles - 87% saw a more youthful and radiant complexion - 95% saw smoother skin - 92% said it works better than antiaging creams, lotions, or serums

Hi Rainitree,

The Palovia is not a device we carry. We are unable to provide a comparison between the two products because we do not carry the Palovia. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Question
How long does the Age-Defying Laser work?
Does the Age-Defying Laser stop working after a few months, or need "replacement parts" right away? How many Laser treatments does it provide? Will it still be working a year from now?

Sharona9396, you do not need to purchase replacement parts with the Age-Defying Laser, but we have identified an issue with a small percentage of power supplies (which is the plug that goes into the wall). This does not impact the device itself, but it does prevent the battery from consistently charging. We have a new power supply that remedies the charging issue. If you experience issues charging your device, please contact our Customer Care department at 877-567-6231 or Customercare@triabeauty.com so we may send you a replacement power supply.

It has a plug for you to recharge it. There isn't anything else you should need to buy. I heard it is supposed to last over 3 years of full time use, or more if you don't use it that much. Tria has a 1 year manufacturing warranty.

You can download the instructions for use and FAQ's that come in the box if you want to read them ahead of time: http://www.triabeauty.com/how-age-defying-laser-works

IT IS VERY DRYING. My skin has not recovered and my mom came down with a case of seborreah, extreme irritation and dryness.

I did notice the area around my lips getting dried out. I am exfoliating more and applying a moisturizer when I didn't before. I've gotten a lot of compliments on how my skin glows!

Question
Freckles?
I notice on the site it says shouldn't be used to combat freckles, no results seen in that area. I have lots of other issues I'd like addressed, but just wondering what, if anything, this DOES to freckles?

I have sort of a tan complexions with lots of dark freckles, it didn't do anything to my freckles - they're not darker or lighter. I was worried before using it, and though I got hyperpigmentation from the unit in other areas, nothing happened to my freckles.

Question
how do i keep skin contact
I am having trouble gliding the hand piece smoothly across my face, I seem to drag the device which sort of bounces a bit, losing contact. It seems like using a gel would help it glide, but the instructions say not to use products on your skin. I would love some suggestions on this.v

I'm finding it easier to keep skin contact if I make sure my face is completely dry, leaving no dampness at all after washing.

I find when I'm pressing too hard it tends to skip a bit (like I'm trying to iron out those wrinkles). When I decrease the pressure and just lightly make contact and glide, I have no problem.

I have a mixed background with a light tan skin, but am susceptible to hyperpigmentation after acne. My skin had the same reaction to the Tria as it did to a deep peel; the areas of my skin when I usually get hyperpigmentation (around nose, nasolabial folds, chin) got REALLY dark and it took me many weeks to get my skin even again. I believe this laser really works, but maybe stay away from areas you've had hyperpigmentation previously and be gentle as far as the products you use while using the laser.

I would personally not recommend this as your hormones are usually out of balance during pregnancy and you produce maybe too much melanoma- that could give you brown spots on your face.
