Question
Worth the size?
How many inches/big is each tube? Is it worth the $58?

Yes, for all the colors you are getting, I'd say it's worth it!!!! If you use it for personal use, it should last you a long time. (Since all you need is literally a small dab) I got this for my make up kit just to try and I need to by the regular size tubes because they are all beatifully pigmented.

Each tube is 3" tip to end which is just slightly smaller than the 3.25" of normal size. More telling is the minis contain 2.5 ml of product vs. the 10 ml for the regular size tubes. Because you get 12 @ a combined total of 30ml that is the equivalent of 3 full size tubes. 3 full size tubes cost $18 x 3=$54. You do also get a full length brush which is quite nice so bottom line is yes; it is worth it (to me).

You use only a TIIIINY bit, like the size of a grain of rice if that, so I could see a tube lasting a long time. It's worth it if you want to try a lot of the colors but if you only want to have like one color, just get the full size.

They are about two inches I would say. I think it is worth the money. I used to spend 8.00 for CoverGirl Outlast and I would go through a tube very quickly. This product lasts so long because you only need a little bit every time you apply it. I also use it as a cheek stain too. I also like to play with the colors and mix them.

It is if you: (1) Like a bright, opaque lip; (2) consider that you only use a tiny drop of the lip tar to paint your lips each time; (3) consider the fact that each full-size lip tar costs almost $20. Even is they are less than half the size of the regular tube (which will last me forever at this rate) you get 12 lip tars to try that can be mixed and matched to find something suitable.

Question
Suitable for pale skin?
I have fairly pale skin with a yellow undertone, I have pigmented lips so rarely lipsticks look good or even show up on me. Are these colors wearable or just completely out there, is it worth it to get the set?

I'm very pale (clothes in blues and greens best compliment my skin tone). I'd say about half of the colors *don't* work for me, but I'd also say I was happy for the purchase because I got to try out a lot of tars for a (relatively) small price. There are two that I like a lot, and I'll buy the large size in those when I run out of the small product.

beware-- lip tars are bold!! you will have to mix most of the colors down to get a more daily look (work, school) but great for bright lips for spring/summer looks. Don't ignore the black and the white lip tars-- they are sold for a reason!!

Of course! Try to mute out your lips with concealer first and then add the lip tar over it (make sure you use a lipliner first)! It will show it's true color on your lips since you gave your lips a blank canvas for the color. So worth buying!!!

This set contains colors that are very opaque so let that guide your decision. They are in fact more saturated than 95% of the traditional lipsticks on the market. It appears that they represent fairly true on the website and I find that I tend to use them more after some mixing and blending as opposed to just straight from the tube. I am normally a lip gloss only girl, but I do really like to blend and experiment with these colors. I recommend using a round toothpick to blend and mix and then apply with a lip brush. ****Start at the center and blend out as these will bleed; I would also suggest lining your lips first*****

Absolutely! I am a very pale redhead and I use all of the shades as lip colors except the pink colors. I use the pink colors as cheek stains. It is a win/win for me lipstick and cheek colors in one set :)

Since the don't bleed and they're more stain like I don't think u do. Plus the liner would probably wear off before this lip color would!

A liner is a great idea with these. Even a clear one could be good because these have a thinner texture that has potential to move into wrinkles around the lip area. A lip liner can ensure that the color will stay in place all day.

You don't need one. If you have oil lips or lipstick spreads easy on your lips, I would recommend a lip liner or at least a nice sugar scrub before applying the lip tar.

I highly recommend using a lip liner. Try a clear, "universal" lip liner of the type that is applied just outside your lip line, such as the SEPHORA COLLECTION Universal Lip Liner, then you won't have to purchase a whole slew of different colored liners for all the shades in this set.

I use a Obsessive Compulsives lip liner in "clear" to prevent feathering I would recommend using it with the darker shades in this set.

Question
How can you tell if the tubes are half empty?
Not sure if this is a silly question, but it feels like I have to use a bit more effort to squeeze out the product compared to when I use my full-sized lip tars.

With the primer it is quite obvious, as the bottle and the product are transparent. I suspect in my set there might be one or two other colors that are not completely full, but I can't confirm that.

You can try tapping and setting the tubes upright and wait about a day or two for the product to settle downward. You'll either see how much it's filled up (may not be evident in highly pigmented colors), or you can do a "squeeze" test to see how much squeeze each tube needs to get product out. I had ordered the other mini set as soon as it released, and *all* 4 tubes were nearly half "empty". But all had the exact same level of product, which makes me think the amount is correct as listed but with a misleading packaging.

Question
can I use it on my face?
I believe I have either heard or seen that you can use the yellow color to cancel out redness quite effectively on your skin. Is this true and if so has anyone tried it? I would like to know the most effective way to use it that way and which ones to buy. Thanks!

There is no yellow toned lip color in this kit. There is a clear that looks a bit yellow in the picture. I would not think of using this in my skin as they are very thick. I don't imagine they would blend well......but I haven't tried it.

Question
How long will it last?
Does this set has expiration date? It seems you don't need to use a lot at a time so it can technically last for a long time. Will it still be good to use, say 3-5 years from now though?

I'm sure it will last a long time. Because I don't like to use a lot of preservatives that would prevent bacteria growing. I apply the lip tar in a small dot on the back of my clean hand and then brush it on my lips. By doing this I don't have to worry bacteria being introduced into the lip tar or bacteria causing chemical reaction to occur that would cause it to degrade faster.

Once opened the product will begin to break down generally about 12 months is long enough to keep any type of lip gloss. Whenever I buy a large set of glosses I pick a few to use first and keep the others unopened so I will have time to use them without the product going bad. With some lip glosses you can tell if they have gone bad by smelling them if the odor has changed it is time for new ones. Also if it changes color in the tube or if it separates are other ways to tell.
