Some clients do experience a purging stage, but it should not last more than a couple weeks. If you choose to return it, you can find more information about our return policy here> http://www.sephora.com/customerService/customerServiceTemplate.jsp?mediaId=10800030

I used my Clarisonic twice a day (day and night) and for the first two weeks, my cheeks were red and bumpy. As people said, it was the 'purging'stage', but after a couple more weeks, my cheeks were really red, dry, patchy, and itchy. So, I read more reviews and feedback online. Some say to cut back as it may be too harsh for sensitive skin if used twice daily. I cut back to one or twice a week and my skin went back to normal: no more redness and itchy skin. However, the Clarisonic still kept my skin nice and reduced my blackheads greatly with the reduced usage.
If you find that your skin is breaking out for than a couple of weeks, maybe try cutting back your usage rather than assume it's the purging stage like I did.
If you purchased your Clarisonic from Sephora, their return policy will apply.
Your Clarisonic is also backed by a two-year warranty if any manufacturing defects are present with your specific unit.
That being said… If your Clarisonic is causing you to break out, I would keep using it! To me it sounds like your skin is purging all of the bacteria within your pores. This is what the Clarisonic is supposed to do! Its sonic cleaning system is supposed to disrupt any blemishes within your pores and bring them out. This process is what causes you to see acne and breakouts. Once your skin gets rid of all of this, you should be left with radiance!! I would definitely continue to use this product until your return window is almost up, and then decide. Don't use it once or twice and then return it, I am confident you will be happy with the results!!
