Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Long-Wear Professional Mirror-Shine Eyeshadow

What it is: An eye shadow with a weightless finish that blends onto the eyelid, dressing it with color and facets of shadow and light. What it does: These elegant shadows create multidimensional, light-reflecting eyes in a single step. The mousse-gel texture blends easily with the fingertips or the enclosed applicator to illuminate the eye with an iridescent metallic finish.

Questions & Answers for Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Long-Wear Professional Mirror-Shine Eyeshadow

Question
What brush to use?
This seems to come with a sponge tip applicator, but I would imagine it is not the best for actually applying the eyeshadow to your lid. And how to keep it clean? What type/brand of brush would be best for this product? I expect a brush specifically for cream eyeshadows might work, right?

Honestly I use clean fingers to apply this shadow. I felt that the sponge included was much too small.

I noted that, at least in my case, I get a softer result when I use my fingers. If I want more colour I use the supplied sponge brush. The new matte colours come with a different, slanted hairy brush. I like the sponge brush a little more, though the other brush may be used in a different way.

I use this with my ring finger. I think this is easy to blend. If you want more detail you can use concealer brush if you have. Or also use the brush they give to you.

I apply this eyeshadow with my fingers for best results. I find it hard to apply with a brush.

Honestly, I just use my fingers to put it on. It has such a smooth, silky texture I don't think a brush is really necessary.

Everything I've read, and the counter manager at Dior, recommended using the brush that comes with it. I've only used that particular brush and it works well.

I use stiff cream shadow brush and it works great. If you want a lighter application you can use a more fluffy brush.

I actually use my finger to pat it on. The sponge works fine as well but I find the finger to be better. Can also control how many layers you want on easier.

Question
Is the product stamped with the CD logo?
I bought this today and when I took it out of the package, there was no logo stamped in the surface of the eye shadow. The pictures here show a stamped logo. I was just wondering if I might have picked up a box that someone had already dipped their fingers into, erasing the logo? Wondering how the shadows look out of the box? Thanks!

I think the appearance of the logo might be color-dependent. I noticed some colors seemed to have it, and mine in Chimére did not.

The jar has the CD logo stamped on it, but the two shades I have did not have a logo on the actual eyeshadow. It's a spring-y mousse texture that re-forms itself into a smooth surface after each time I use it, so I would think that if the logo was stamped into it, it would disappear as the product becomes smooth again.

I don't know but it might seem lighter if you're shade is lighter? like the CD part won't be as defined? But then again...Im not sure I had an issue with the actual contents coming out and moving but overall I am pleased with it.
I have etoile and the CD wasn't as dark outlined as it seems on the darker shades. If you still feel bad about it just talk to the customer service, put everything back in its box and ask for a refund. Don't feel bad they have one of the best customer service I've seen!

I am not 100% sure, but I don't remember any CD stamp inside, and I have 2 of them. The surface is smooth and a bit round (dome)…I like it anyway...

The Mirage is not shiny, more of a matte color. The color is buildable so wont overwhelm if you add too much at first.

The mirage is not too shiny. I use it either on my lid or in the crease, depending on my mood. I don't think you have to be old to use matte colours. If you want some shimmer you need to add another eyeshadow..

Unless you are under 40 I don't think that I would use it as a crease definer. It's a bit much for us "vintage" folks but all the colors are stunning if used with a light hand. I am very fair and just add a touch of this over my regular shadow and a little bit under the brow bone.

Question
Similar to Chanel?
Are these similar to Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre shadows?

I would say these are similar. I own 821 Chimére in the Dior Mono Fusion shadow, and Diapson in the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre shadows.

Honestly, I think that the Dior shadows are priced better (the Dior Mono Fusion shadows are $136/oz, while the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre shadows are $257/oz - that's nearly twice as expensive per ounce, although I'm not sure that the shelf life of these eyeshadows will let you make the most of that).

I like both eyeshadows a lot, and I often wear them together. I would say that for me, the main differences are that Diapson is a duochrome, and can be built up to full opacity (Chimére is not a fair shade to compare it against, but it does have less dimension, and swatching the other shades of the Dior Mono Fusion seemed like they often fell short of full opacity, although you could get quite deep colors with some).

I prefer the texture of the mono fusion immensely - the illusion d'ombre shadow felt much grittier to me. And I did experience fallout with the mono fusion eyeshadow, but not the illusion d'ombre. In terms of wear time and creasing, they seemed comparable (no noticeable creasing, and wore well for a full day).

I have one of each, and they are more similar than different however the differences are noticeable. As someone before me said CD has more fine shimmers and is more of a wash of color/shimmer. The Diors you can wear over matte shadows to give some POP. On the other hand, the Chanels are more cream/mousse consistency. The Chanels would work well as a base you can layer powder shadows on top of. Both can be used alone.

Yes, very very similar. I own various colors in both Chanel and Dior's formulas, and they are almost identical, texture wise. Only difference is this one is $30, compared to Chanel's $36.

they are a bit different from the Chanel cream eyeshadows. These have more fine glitters than the Chanel's also the texture and consistency of the eyeshadows are different from Chanel's too. Also they weigh more and cost you less.

Millineum is a neutral olive, with medium shimmer layer over it. If you wet it, it gives a foil effect and brings out the olive more.

I have the Millenium and it is honestly more of a greyish brown if that makes sense. It's definitely not olive green. It goes with pretty much everything.
