I've used Deborah Lippman nail polish with this system and it works just fine.

answer 3
I sure did... AND it came off quickly and cleanly! With other polishes, I've had negative experiences of color getting on to fingers and "staining" when I am removing and being difficult to remove if I got polish on my cuticle. The Formula X came off completely in one swipe of a cotton ball with inexpensive drugstore polish remover.

Yes, you can. Basically, this set is just giving you what you can buy anywhere, it gives you a base coat, top coat, a cleaning coat, and a choice of nail polish color, so any nail polish remover should be fine to use along with these products.

This is just like regular polish because it is regular polish. In the winter (when there's little humidity), I wait 10-15 minutes between coats. In the summer I wait longer. This is probably longer than is absolutely necessary, but I hate ruining a manicure just because I didn't let the coats dry long enough.

answer 2
It dries quickly. I used a fan, but I would say I let the polish try for 2-3 minutes per steps to be safe. The polish itself was very thick and I didn't need a second coat, but I did just for good measure. All of the polishes were thick and very good quality, but not heavy and goopy. I'd try it out and see what you think. I think that you will like it.

When I paint my nails I usually always end up with finger prints in my polish "testing" to see if it is dry yet... Until I tried Formula X. I paint my left hand, then my right, and by the time I was done painting my right hand, my left hand was ready for the next step. Fasting drying polish I have ever used.

answer 4
Usually by the time I've finished painting the other hand, the first one is dry. So it is very quick! Maybe 5 minutes of total dry time at the very end, just to be on the safe side.

answer 6
No wait between steps 1 and 2.
Usually do each hand with step 2, then wait about 30 seconds to apply polish. Then wait about a minute before applying the top coat. The manicure settles/dries faster than with other top coats I've used.

I painted my right hand then my left, in that time my right hand dried. It is seriously fast, and doesn't take many coats. The final coat took maybe 3 minutes to dry fully.

The cleanser just takes off any dirt or oil on your nails so the polish adheres better. It doesn't remove old polish.

answer 2
I think it's just nail polish remover. I bought the entire system and the cleanser smelled like nail polish remover. I used it just to stick with what the entire package was recommending. I would definitely use the base coat, Sephora X nail polish, and top coat together. I've watched some videos on YouTube saying that the polish alone doesn't have the staying power as it does with the base and top coats. I'd say that you can skip the cleanser and use nail polish remover, but it might be cheaper for you to buy the entire system so that you can get the base and top coats with your nail polish. Hope this helps!

The nail cleanser doesn't remove nail polish. Ex; The cleanser is like hand sanitizer for your hands, it just removes excess or particulates from your nails, so that nothing gets in the way when you apply the base coat.
I found it to be particularly useless! You apply this cleanser before you apply the base coat. To me it didn't really do anything to my nails.

it suppose to make your nail cleaner, so when you apply the base coat is even smoother. But I don't see any difference, unless maybe you have so super dirty nails.

The cleanser removes hand oils from your nail bed that would otherwise "repel" your polish, (the cause of most chipping and peeling). I seem to be able to use a regular polish remover, so nothing special is needed.

It bascially cleans off your nails with remaining residue, leftover polishes or grime or grease etc. The base coat needs your nails to be total dry and clean to make your nail color stick good to the nails.Thats how it works

I've tried this with other polishes and didnt have the same results as using a Formula X polish. With the Formula X polish though, my nails lasted a week without chips. I have used it with both OPI and Dolce and Gabbana. They both lasted a decent amount of time (the D&G lasted less long than it could have because I started picking at a cuticle and chipped the polish then it was a picking free-for-all).

It dries in almost no time, but that's with using the entire set and having two coats of polish. It is also highly pigmented so you don't need to apply heavy coats to get good results. After a week of it on, it was still shiny and had no chips.

Question
Does it last?
I am a swimmer and I love to do my nails, unfortunately every time I go to practice my polish chips immediately and my mani only lasts a day. I've been searching for the perfect base and top coat that won't chip in the pool. Is formula x the best for me?

I would say, yes! This is the product for you. I am not a swimmer, but I wash my hands consistently throughout the day in addition to showering 1-2 times per day. I've had the polish on for going on a week and I've had no chips at all. It's really nice. It looks like a gel manicure too as it's shiny and coats the nails evenly. I would try it out, but purchase the entire system with the nail cleanser, base coat, formula X polish, and top coat and try it out. You can always return it if it doesn't work for you. I was told by an associate at Sephora that if I tried it and didn't like it, I could still return it if I kept my receipt. Good luck! I think that you will really like this.

When my nails get longer, I like to make that noise by tapping them on tables and desks and what not. The base coat is one of the best I have ever used myself. My nails have rarely chipped in the slightest and the top coat makes my nails look even shinier than when I first put the nail polish on.

I had this same issue and found out that you have to add the set to your basket first and then add a nail polish immediately after and then it will reflect as free at checkout. If you add any products in between the set and polish or add the polish first, etc. the polish will not reflect as free. I had to call customer service to get a refund on the polish and they took care of it immediately.
