Question
Has anyone else had an allergic reaction after using for several weeks?
I've been using this with no problems until now. I woke up this morning with a really red neck that is itchy and a little swollen. It feels like my throat is swelling also. Not sure if this is the culprit though.

I used this for about two weeks before having an allergic reaction. I didn't use any products with it, only cleanser. My reaction was tiny blisters on my forehead and under my cheekbones down to my jaw. They did itch, as well.

No, I don't think this cream could make you have an allergic reaction, it must have been something else. But who knows :) I have very sensitive skin and love to is this about twice a week after my glycolic facewash. My skin feels so amazing the next day, no additional breakouts either.

I haven't tried this product but I've had a similar delayed-action redness reaction to a different product with bergamot oil. Bergamot is a type of citrus and my sensitivity to citrus comes and goes in terms of food and skin contact. You may find you can still use this cream on your neck or back of your hands even if it bothers your face. Also, you might just need a break from putting strong acid on your face so frequently. And the acid burn might be compounded if you're now dealing with lots of sunlight or strong wind or very dry air. In any case, it is unlikely to be the ceramides or most of the other ingredients that are causing your discomfort, and you would likely have no issues with a different ceramide formulation.

Question
Is this product ok for 18 year olds?
I am 18, and I was going to purchase this cream in store but one of the beauty advisors told me that she doesn't recommend I use products with ceramide in them because I'm pretty young.
Does anyone else think this? I'm trying to get rid of some flakiness on my skin!

I hadn't heard you weren't supposed to use it on "young" skin. This is the only product my 16 year old uses. Her skin is very sensitive and gets very dry when she doesn't use this.

I use it daily. I would ask if you can get a sample of the product. The Ceramide is a time release moisturizer from what I understand. If you have severe dry skin for your age I would recommend you give it a try

I definitely think this product is good for eighteen year-olds. I'm 22 and I love this cream. My skin is ok (one pimple "once a month", but no other problems) but DULL. This cream works well with my combo skin: it's thick enough for my dry patches but absorbs quickly enough for my oily places. This makes my skin glow: but NOT because it has little flakes of shimmer in it. It makes your skin glow because it gets rid of roughness and flakiness. Skin problems are skin problems, no matter your age. If this addresses the issues you're concerned with, then by all means try it! Maybe take a sample home first and give it a try for a week and see how you feel just to be sure? But I'm head over heels for this cream!

I've used it alone for 3 weeks & it works great. No need for other Ceramidin products. Though I did a few days ago break down & buy the liquid, so I could some mornings use that instead to make this last longer (I've layered once just to see, and I didn't notice any difference). I wash my skin with Purity (Philosophy), then moisturize with this. It even works well under eyes. My dry patches are gone. My skin is plumped up and luminous. This is my HG moisturizer. It also "plays nice" with other serums and skincare, if you are using other lines/serums. I love it!!

I use this alone and love. It is lightweight and does exactly what it says it will do. I use it morning and night. Not all over but under eyes and chin from some breakouts. This is a great product to try skin is left very smooth and hydrated

I've tried with and without the Ceramidin Liquid. If you are not using it with the Liquid, I suggest you use a different pat-on style toner/skin/softener and at least some serum. This cream acts like a barrier wall to lock in the moisture that you applied onto your face prior to the cream. I've tried different methods, and the best way to hydrate my face with this was to apply a softener, a hydrating sleeping mask like (Dr. Jart Water Sleeping Mask, then a thin layer of the Ceramidin Cream.

Question
Protective Seal Packaging?
Hi, I'm wondering if this product is meant to have a protective seal that is meant to be pierced / opened with the pointed tip of the cap? Thanks Much, for your help :)

The 0.5 oz Ceramidin Cream that comes in the Ceramidin Exclusive Set that comes with a canvas zipper pouch has a foil seal that you puncture using the lid. However, the 1.6 oz Ceramidin Cream does not have a foil that you must puncture. The 1.6 oz Ceramidin Cream has a narrow clear "sticker/tape" that is on the cap and the top of the tube to indicate if the product has been opened.

Thanks very much for your replies. I also thought there was supposed to be a protetive seal there. Before I posted my answer here, I asked the same question on the Dr. Jart+ US facebook page, and this was their response to me....I'm very confused now. "Dr. Jart+ US Hi Megan—thanks for reaching out! The Ceramidin Cream doesn't have a protective foil seal, but comes with a thin adhesive strip connecting the cap to the tube to ensure that it has not been opened. Let us know if we can be of further assistance!

Best,
The Dr. Jart Team"

Yes it does. You just turn over the cap and it has a point to pierce the seal of the tube. It's the best packaging for moisturizers. Keeps the germs out from sticking your fingers in it every day.

Question
Cream vs Balm vs Liquid
Does anyone have a preference of one over the other? I want to buy one product from trio to try out and was wondering which would be the best one to try first. I have normal skin, sometimes dry patches in the winter.

I would start out with the Ceramidin Cream. I use the Ceramidin Cream in summer, autumn, and spring. In the winter I used the Ceramidin Oil Balm, which was just as wonderful, but a little more heavy-duty and hydrating for those super cold and dry days. When in doubt, go with the Ceramidin Cream! You won't be disappointed :)

i haven't tried the balm, but i have the cream and liquid. if your only going to buy 1, go with the cream for sure. the liquid for me is not enough by itself, but a great addition to the cream, the cream will work by itself though.

I'd say the cream. I too was debating which one to purchase because they are both pricey. I haven't tried the serum but I use a hyaluronic serum with the cream which is just as effective.

Question
What is the metal strip that comes with this cream?
When you open the box, there are two objects in it: the Ceramidin cream, and a small piece of metal with Dr. Jart's logo on it. Does anyone know what purpose this metal strip serves?

It's supposed to help you squeeze the product out, but I daresay it's proved pretty useless. When I tried to use it, it started peeling the paint off the tube and got white paint-chip things all over my hand.

You put the metal strip at the top of the tube and as you work your way through you move it down so it gets all the product for you.

It's to help squeeze the product out of the tube, so you can maximize how much product you get! It's actually pretty ingenious and generous of them. You slide this over the very end of the tube, and then as you use the product, rotate the metal key down, and it squeezes out every little bit of product.

I found this product really effective. The reason I started using this is because I was just looking for a cream product that can hydrate my skin. But then one of my friend told me about this product and I bought it and I love it! After I put this on, I can feel that it is very moisturized and hydrated. I only use this product itself.

This is quite a thick emollient cream so it might be too heavy for the under-eye area which usually tends to be thinner than the rest of the face.

I would not use this as an eye cream - it doesn't have the correct hue for under eye usage. The SPF is nice and would protect the under eye area, but because of the tint, I think it may look strange. It's more of a very sheer foundation.
