Questions & Answers for Kate Somerville Dilo Oil Restorative Treatment

Question
What is really two drops?
"AM and PM. Apply 1 to 2 drops to clean face and neck. For best results, use on damp skin." Do I drop it right on my face somewhere and rub it in; or on my palm, emulsify and then apply? I really don't get how 2 drops covers my face. How is anyone else using it?

I put on my vitamin C serum, then moisturizer (at night), then drop a couple drops on my palm, rub them together and spread all over my face and neck. Usually a few drops is all I need.

The dropper makes this a bit problematic, because sometimes it releases only two drops and sometimes it has a mind of its own and gives me most of the oil in the dropper. Two drops ends up being about the size of a dime.

I use the dropper as a wand and swipe it across 2 or 3 fingers for each side of my face.

i would say put it in your palm because if you do it any other way it drips down and you basically lose product and its a great product you don't want to waste!
I put 2-3 drops because i have dry/combo skin and i don't want tightness and dryness on my face. you can adjust it with the center how much product you want and don't want whatever extra you can gently put back in the container OR whatever else you can even put on your hair! its a multi use oil.

worked well on my mature skin. Get a sample and try it. I use it twice a day and mix it with some products I was already using.

I personally use this oil with a combination of other moisturizers before I go to bed. I purposely make it so that my skin is a bit dewy and moist. However, when I use it in the morning before applying my makeup, I tend to use several other moisturizers as well and my skin never feels slick, greasy or oily. I would say you can use both products.

Question
Use alone?
Do you use this alone as a moisturizer, or over/under a moisturizer or serum? Can it be used with the resurfacing peel pads? and the deep tissue repair cream? Or is that too much.

It depends on what I'm planning to do next. If I am going to put on a full face of makeup, I mix it with a moisturizer (currently using pore refining one from Algenist) and give it a minute to sink in before I use primer.

If I am just heading out with no makeup, I put a few drops in my palms, rub up through my fingertips, and smooth all over my face and hustle out the door.

Hi you should apply the oil before your sunscreen. It really soaks in your skin when you apply it first.

Yes you can. Depending on what kind of SPF you are using, you can use them together in the AM.

If you're using physical SPF, I suggest applying the treatment oil first as you want the Dilo Oil's benefits "sinking" into your skin while the physical SPF "protects" your skin on the outside from sun damage.

If you're using chemical SPF, it doesn't really matter when you apply you apply it with the oil.

...or if you're unsure what kind of SPF you have, you can always just mix the oil with the SPF product.
