Question
Cruelty Free?
I see the description says the bee "venom" is extracted through a humane process but I cannot imagine a humane way to do that. Has anyone researched this line? Is it really cruelty free? Thanks!

Thank you Milesmarc for posting the companies explanation. It's certainly better than killing them, but because they are giving them enough of an electrical shock to encourage them sting, it certainly doesn't sound cruelty free to me. They are really small so I can't imagine how they can shock it at a low level to cause no trauma. If they did, they wouldn't sting, right? Too bad because it sounded interesting. I wonder why they don't just extract venom from dead bees.

I had the same question!!! Here is the answer according to their website (take from it what you choose):

"How is Bee Venom harvested? And does the process harm the bees?

A special glass surface (known as the collector) is placed alongside the gate of the hive and a weak electrical current is run through it, which encourages the bees to gently sting the class. Because the bees are stinging a surface they cannot penetrate their abdomens remain intact – so they don't die and remain unharmed. The bee venom is then dried, harvested and purified to remove any unwanted impurities such a soil, dust or pollen.

We work closely with our beekeepers to ensure the bee hives are maintained with no antibiotic use within our clean, green New Zealand countryside. Every batch of our honey and bee products is traceable back to the source hive."

Question
Before or after moisturizing
Would I use a moisturizing lotion before or after this mask, or not at all? I tried a small sample, but after putting it on and rubbing it in (gently) I felt little "balls" of some type of product come off. This happens to me sometimes w/other things, but I can't figure out why. I am doing a 30day peel from Dr. Gross Alpha-Beta line and wondering if that's the reason. I'm usually pretty good w/skin care stuff, but I'm stumped here. i really think I'll like this, but I need to see how it truly works for my skin before purchasing.

Hello,

This products can be used at a mask (rinse off) or you can leave it on overnight but you do not need to put a moisturizer on afterwards. I don't know why it rolls on you but when I tried it, it went on smooth. Maybe try using less?

Not sure if its best to mix the facial peel and the bee venon mask. The little balls are from the mask. Just put some water on your face and towel dry, and the balls will come off. I put on moisturizer after i put a light amount of the mask on.

Ole Henrikson has a moisturizer that is called Nurture Me, it's very good for rosacea if your don't have a bad case of it that should be treated medically by a Derm. And it smells divine :-)

this product seems good for someone with rosacea because it has an anti redness ingredient. it also has an ingredient that is antiviral and there is an ingredient that has enzymes in it. a study has shown that people with rosacea have an allergy to demidexmite droppings. its been proven that rosemary extract can kill demidexmites. this product does not contain rosemary but you can look for rosemary extract in products.
