Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream

What it is: A cream-to-powder matte lip color that delivers an unprecedented 50 percent pigment dispersion. What it does: Through BITE’s proprietary small-batch process, this weightless formula fuses hand-milled edible butters with pure premium pigments to deliver BITE’s boldest coverage yet. Formulated with four times the average level of pigments, Cashmere Lip Cream imparts an intense, feather-light wash of color. What else you need to know: The cream-to-powder delivery system is achieved with an advanced formulation of butters, waxes, and oils that all have different melting and absorption rates. The balanced combination of waxes and butters with the powder texture of silica develop a creamy and buttery application that quickly absorbs into lips while the powdered pigments remain on the surface to leave a matte finish.

Matte finish. But you could always layer a clear or similar color lip gloss over top for a more glossy look.

this is a semi matte finish. what i mean is .. it's not drying like a matte finish but it's not glossy like a lip gloss, it's just a cream finish with moisture and intense color.

Question
Is this a plumper?? Does it have any menthol feel or taste??
I'm highly sensitive to lip glosses like Laura Mercier's which are made to plump-up the lip, and have a menthol/peppermint feel and taste.
Please advise before I would purchase.
Thank you.

This didn't have any plumping agents - no tingly menthol or anything like that. Just a straight up lip cream.

I don't believe it is sold as a lip plumper. It has no discernible taste for me. I think the claim to fame for this one is the unusual texture (creamy, rather matte finish) and the intense color.

I have a light/medium skin tone. I recently got Sancerre and it suits my skin tone perfectly. The lady at Sephora did a test on my skin using the Skin IQ machine and she brought a range of colours for me. And Sancerre suited my skin really well. And the colour was non sticky, semi matte and stayed well on me.

I am Asian with fair (in the winter) to light (in the summer) skin. I have only used Sancerre and love it. It is a fuchsia-red color well-suited for light skin. Because of my light skin and naturally pigmented lips, I feel most comfortable in bright bold pinks, fuchsias, reds, and warm plums.

I am fair skinned but have both and love both. They are fairly similar deep, pinky-reds. I would say Crianza comes out slightly coral pink, where as Sancerre is slightly fuschia.

I do have fair skin so this may not be the most helpful, but I prefer Crianza. I tried Sancere a few months back and it was very dark on me. I think that Crianza is lighter, maybe a bit more red while Sancere was more of a darkened raspeberry pink to me. Wish I could be more helpful! I recommended Crianza for lighter skin and Sancerre for darker complexions.

I have brown skin and used this in Sancerre. It comes off as a bold reddish pink (not pinkish red as they advertised...in other words, it came off much more pink than I expected) on my lips, which wasn't what I was actually looking for. I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly, but if you want more red, Crianza may be better. (I can't comment on that one since I didn't try it. Displayed next to each other, they looked similar. It was only now when I was looking online that I realized that was a combo of pink and red.)

Question
What are the ingredients?
I'm shocked to see a Bite product with no ingredients listed. Their whole line is about natural color, which is a concept I love, because who wants to eat nasty chemicals. Anyway the lack of an ingredient list makes me....curious? Suspicious? Anyone know what they are? Thanks.

Hmm, they aren't specific as to what is in the cashmere lip creme but I did find this: Our new Cashmere Lip Cream is one of the most pigmented lip products – ever. This cream-to-powder matte formula delivers our boldest coverage yet. Through BITE’s small-batch process, the formula infuses hand-milled edible butters with pure premium pigments for a feathery, light wash of colour. The cream to powder system is achieved with advanced formulation of butters, waxes, and oils, balanced in combination with the powder texture of silica. The oils quickly absorb in the lips while the powdered pigments remain on the surface, leaving a matte finish. The oils in the cream moisturize and nourish the lips, the 5mg of resveratrol fights free radicals that cause aging around the lip line, and silica powder primes and prevents feathering! Now this is a match made in heaven.

Thanks, missnewbougie, totally appreciate you researching it. I found the same thing, pretty much, but couldn't find specifically WHICH butters, WHICH oils, etc. I like Bite in philosophy, but I haven't been thrilled with their products on the whole. Too bad, but I'm not giving up on them. Thanks again :-)

Question
Did I get the one bad tube? Should I exchange and try again?
I bought the shade burgundy because it was unlike anything else I had. i wanted so badly to like this product. But it feels dry and gritty and within the hour it just fades from the middle of my lips and gives me just a line around my lips and settles into fine lines. I've tried everything to make it work but it just isn't working out.
I tried exchanging it already but I got it when I was out of town and the store in my city didn't get any of this particular shade.
Did I get the one bad bottle? Should I just exchange this when my store finally has it in stock?
I can't imagine that this is just the way this shade is after all the amazing reviews I've seen.

That is pretty unusual, I definitely suggest trying the shade out in store first t see if its maybe just the burgundy that does it or not, and maybe even trying the lip primer underneath, after the trial if you still like it probably get it exchanged?
