I put one pump in my palm, rub my hands together and then apply all over my face, then down on to my neck

Cotton pads (I recommend the cotton pads from the same company). You can use your fingers in a pinch, but you lose a lot of product that way. You also risk putting dirt and oils back on to your clean face.

I apply it with clean hands after washing my face. I would not recommend using a cotton pad or any other tool to apply. The consistency is very fluid so if you used a cotton pad or any other tool it would mostly be absorbed by the tool. (side note - I suggest you pump a small amount at a time because a little goes a long way)

Either will work. I received a free sample of the Shiseido facial cotton when I purchased the Ibuki line, and it worked really well to apply it, but I didn't worry about purchasing it when I ran out. It's not so liquid as to run through your fingers, and I think it's actually more economical (you need less because none of it gets soaked into the cotton pad). I usually don't even need a full pump to cover my whole face. Just make sure your fingers are clean so you aren't redepositing oil and dirt onto your face.

I have such sensitive skin, I can't use water to clean. I previously use la Roche posay, but the Ibuki line is great. I will even try the cleanser since this product works well. Husband bought moisturizer for me as well and my skin looks great.

Please be very cautious if you have sensitive skin. This product has a pretty high alcohol content, which means it STINGS when I tried it on my hand (although I did not try it on my face after the sting on my hand...)

You might want to skip serum or eye cream--that could be too much for your skin. this softener itself like a serum with less richness. But it can't replace serum. And if you want to work on the early winkles, you prob want to move on to a higher end softener.

If you are super dry(like me, dry skin could hanging around my nose and upper lip whole day), use Shisedo. Skin absorb this softener very well, and it won't affect your day time make up. The oil could make your make up very messy.

I use this as the "toner" step in my skincare regimen. It is supposed to prep your skin for the next steps in your skincare routine such as serums and moisturizers. However, it's not like your typical toner in that it has more of a moisturizing/balancing property than cleansing.

Question
can a teenager use this?
I'm 15 years old and my skin often feels kind of tense and tight after I cleanse my face, and I'm wondering if this can help that. I'm just worried that the anti-aging properties etc. might have a negative affect on my skin.

Teenagers do not need anti-aging products. If your skin feels tight after cleansing, your cleanser is drying your skin out. Use a moisturizer after cleansing or find a new cleanser that doesn't tighten your skin.
