Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder

What it is: A weightless finishing powder with a luminous, demi-matte Naked finish that blends flawlessly to set makeup and cut shine. What it does: The next evolution in Naked Skin, this oil-free powder is virtually invisible on skin and has a silky texture that feels amazing. Optical blurring pigments instantly minimize imperfections, diminish shine, and create a stunning soft-focus effect that looks professionally retouched. Unlike powders that leave skin looking chalky or cakey, this powder imparts a radiant complexion and natural-looking coverage. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates - Phthalates What else you need to know: This formula works beautifully with Naked Skin Beauty Balm or Naked Skin Liquid Makeup, enhancing the already-luminous finish. The gunmetal and champagne custom compact features a Naked-embossed push button. The top compartment includes a full-size and a separate compartment underneath holds the applicator sponge. - Naked Light: works well with shades 0.5–3.0 - Naked Medium Light: works well with shades 2.0–4.0 - Naked Medium: works well with shades 4.5–6.5 - Naked Medium Dark: works well with shades 6.0–8.0 - Naked Dark: works well with shades 8.0–12.0

Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder

Question
Settling?
I'm looking for a powder to set my make up in the morning and to touch up at lunch. I have fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and large pores around my nose, and often powders will settle in and accentuate what I'm trying to hide. Has anyone had trouble with settling when they used this powder?

This powder does a great job of staying on all day. I have lines and large pores and I never notice it settling. I tend to be up for long hours and it stays on the entire time. Maybe try using a primer also.

I didn't like the way this looked 'cakey' around my eyes. I don't use Urban Decay make-up, but another moisturizer underneath, so if you use primer (I can't because I react to all I have tried), it may set differently.

I bought this powder for my daughter who is 20 and it goes on flawlessly. I love the airbrushed look it gives her skin so I tried it. I will be honest and did not notice this powder 'settling' in places like pores or wrinkles. To that end, if you first use a good moisturizer followed by a good primer that should immensely help the way your makeup goes on and help to eliminate the issue with the settling. I think it's a great powder. My skin is slightly more olive than my daughter's; she is a bit fairer, but we can both use the light-medium color. Good luck!

We recommend using a foundation primer before applying your makeup to help prevent your makeup from settling into fine lines. We suggest Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion > http://www.sephora.com/brightening-tightening-complexion-primer-potion-P242815?skuId=1435114

After 2 weeks of my purchase. All the powder broke up and fell out of the compact. Iis this normal?
I kept the makeup in my handbag. So it wasn't in high heat or freezing conditions. As it wad completely all out of the case, and on the bottom of my bag. I wasn't sure if I could return an empty container?

Mine has never done that and I track it around everywhere. I think you just have to watch how you sit it down and just be careful to not drop it or throw it.

Mine did the same thing. I kept mine in my makeup case which stays upright in my bathroom and never travels. I don't know what happened, I never even dropped it. I just did a review. I was very let down with this product. The whole product crumbled out and I was left with an empty container.

Question
Has anyone noticed the pink shimmer?
I was looking at these powders at Sephora the other day and swatched my shade, medium dark, on the back of my hand and noticed a slight pink sheen. It's very slight but it was enough to put me off the powder, as my only complaint for the otherwise flawless Naked Skin Liquid Foundation is that it's just not yellow enough for my skin. It shows up too pink, especially against my decollate, so any more pink tint added to the mix will make the situation worse.

I'm curious to know if anyone's noticed the pink sheen and how it affects how the powder performs in terms of making the skin look flawless. I know that pink light can diffuse and blur imperfections, so that's maybe why the pink sheen is there. I just think it's interesting that there has been no review so far that covers this pink sheen.

Or maybe I'm just going insane and there is just no pink sheen at all?

I bought the medium dark and LOVED it. I don't notice the pink sheen in the compact or on my face. Perhaps you're right and there is a little bit added to help with blurring imperfections. But the undertone itself is more yellow.

I bought this powder for my 20 year old daughter who is a bit fairer than me. My skin has a mild olive/sallow tone without makeup. She does not notice a pink sheen to this powder. I have also tried it and did not notice it, either. I think it's a pretty good powder and I normally use Chanel. It gives the skin almost an airbrushed feel. Also wanted to let you know I bought her the light-medium color and it works well with both of our skin tones. Best wishes!

I haven't noticed a pink undertone, though I am very pale with a more pink undertone for my skin than any another color. Mine appears to be very much a foundation color. It's possible that if you have a more yellow undertone that there could be a pink shimmer that some of us aren't noticing...I believe you can return it if it's not satisfactory for store credit/online credit though I am not positive.

I use a nice sephora brand brush set and it works great with that. I think it just depends on your preference of how the brushes feel. Some tend to cover more and some tend to have less coverage.

I would recommend using SOME type of powder brush to apply this. They include a square sponge, but I only reserve that for when I need heavy coverage i.e. covering a blemish or scar. I use the 55 airbrush from Sephora to apply this and it goes on like a dream.

Question
Shade for 2.0?
I know that it says both light and medium light should work for those of us who wear 2.0 in the foundation, but has anyone tried these and know which is better?

I would probably go with the lighter one. I wear a 6.0 in the winter and the 7.0 in the summer, I am going to buy the medium for the winter to match with my 6.0. I am currently using Medium Dark and it works great, but think it may just be a bit too off with my winter color, plus I like to add color by contouring, so that is up to you, just my personal opinion. :)

I would say this has a neutral undertone. I am more pinky-beige and it's a great match but I can also see some yellow in it.

I actually think they are both perfect. Long lasting, great coverage and does not settle in lines. Hello Flawless has a fresh scent but UD has no scent. That could be your deciding factor. Both worth the $.

I actually switched over from Benefit to this one, so I definitely recommend going with Urban Decay! A little goes a long way, I find it to lasts longer though out the day, and it's cruelty free!

I have dry skin in the winter months and it did great with a primer and the urban decay liquid. With a primer it looks great on any skin and should help with covering any dryness if a moisturizer doesn't do it alone.

Shade?
I am a 3.5 in the naked foundation. The closest Sephora is two hours from me. Does anyone know what shade I would be in the powder? Thanks!

I am also a 3.5. I purchased Medium Light according to their recommendations. It looks very light in person, nothing like what it does on the website (at least on my computer), but when I used it, it blended right into my skin and made my skin look flawless. I'd go with Medium Light, and don't be put off initially by how light the powder looks.
