Questions & Answers for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Question
How does it compaire to They're Real from Benefit?
I love They're Real and swear by it but am always excited for new things. Does it define and lengthen as well as Benefit does?

I'm an Asian and this gives me falsie , dramatic effect considering our lashes are sparse and tiny !' They are real ' , just separate, lengthen my lashes but overall, it just gives me a natural look , which is not enough for me

answer 2
You know, I do think a combination of the two would work well together. First, apply they're real and then apply BTS. They're real...super length and defines for me. I did not see much volume, however. BTS...much volume, thickness and does lengthen and define. Volume and thickness are significant and key players out of these four. 'They're real' made my lashes really long, but I need volume, so I purchased BTS and like it so much better than They're real. Depends on your needs really. If you already have thick lashes, Perhaps 'They're real' will work better for you...not needing that extra volume.

answer 3
This one separates each lash and creates mega volume without clumping and lengthens. The too faced mascara also has a more full, feathered effect. They're real from benefit has a more separating and lengthening effect more so than volumizing.

This gives way more volume. They do play nicely together. I like to apply better than $ex 1-2 coats then do a final pass with "There real" that brush is great for separating.

answer 7
I would say the best thing this mascara does is thicken and curl. It adds an average amount of length, but isn't that great at defining. It will make your lashes look really black and plush, but beware because spider lashes are kind of easy to achieve with this mascara. Benefit's They're Real mascara does a good shop at lengthening and separating at least for me.

Stick to They're Real. You get a little more volume out from BTS, but you don't get the definition that the Benefit wand provides.

Question
Do you experience smudging with this mascara ?
I live in a humid country, I love how this mascara makes my lashes look long and nicely separated. I got the deluxe sample size and every time I wore it, I would end up with panda eyes at the end of the day. Do you experience this ? and how can I avoid this ? Benefit's They're Real and UD's Super Curling doesn't do this to me :(

I live in a very dry climate right now (midwest winters... ugh!) and I don't have any problems with this mascara smudging, but I do have problems with it flaking off after several hours. I worry what may happen if I start to use it during the summer... I had used Benefit's They're Real! mascara in the past pretty religiously before I decided to try this one, and I'll probably switch back once I'm done with this product. I would wear Benefit's mascara all summer (and where I live, it does get very humid in the summer) and never have a problem with flaking or smudging! Another mascara you might want to consider is Tarte's Lights, Cameras, Splashes (a waterproof version of their original Lights, Cameras, Flashes) for length and curl.

Buxom is great at separating the lashes for a natural look. This is great for volumizing and dramatizing your lashes. Personally, I use both. One coat of this, with one coat of Buxom on top. That way I get the volume + separation.

If you're asking about the Buxom Sculpted Lash, then I think this one is better. Buxom is also great and separates lashes very well. Too Faced volumizes and defines much better with just one coat. If you have to choose one, go with the TF.

I currently use Buxom's Amplified and I love it. I thought that this might be better after reading all of the great reviews, but this one is clumpy, doesn't hold curl at all (if you need to use an eyelash curler) and is extremely hard to remove. I am returning this and sticking with my Buxom mascara. In my honest opinion, it blows this mascara out of the water.

Question
Is my tube broken?
I tried this mascara for the first time today. When I pulled the wand out of the tube it slid out very easily and was covered with goopy mascara. Could not apply to eyelashes without big clumps and goopy mess all over? Is this the way all tubes are or was mine missing a part inside that helps scape excess mascara off?

Yes, it's defective!!!! I had the same exact problem! When I first purchased this, the mascara had a lot of product on the wand, which caused clumps. Wasn't sure if this was normal, since it was the first time I used it. Then after about 2 weeks of use, the stopper broke and my wand was DRENCHED in mascara. I exchanged it and the new one is perfect! No clumps or defective stopper! No extra product on wand.

I've actually been having that problem with my new Lancome Hypnose Star mascara.

Mine tends to pull out a lot of product also, but not to the extent of yours. I noticed that pulling the brush out slowly helps to scrape off the mascara on the bristles more effectively than just taking it out fast. I would exchange it for another one and see if that one has the same problem before buying! :)

This product is not technically "water proof", but I have not had a huge problem with my use. When my eyes get wet from tears, the mascara does not fall or smudge. When I wash my face, it rubs off well. Using a facial wash or make-up remover will do the trick to remove the rest.

The mini sizes are always so much better in my opinion. I do have the full size as well. I love the volume and dramatic look. But yes, after several uses I found that the full size brush gets thick and clumpy...way too much product. I also do not like that the mascara is all over the outside of the tube when I twist it shut. Frustrating...I have to wipe it off with a tissue. I read that some people shake the mascara tube before opening. Also wipe the brush off with a tissue. Will try that tech out. Hope it helps.

I'm Asian as well, although I think I have my dad lashes (who is Caucasian), but with that said, this mascara didn't seem to hold a curl at all! Hope that helps!

I have short lashes that do not curl. This product does make them appear longer and helps shape my lashes up. Takes about 2-3 coats. Major difference from a variety of other brands.

This should do the trick. I have barely there and weak lashes, and this has helped immensely.

I feel you. I have those short, straight, Asian lashes that won't stay curled for long even when using an eyelash curler several times during my make-up process.

I gave this product 4 out of 5 stars, because I found it very volumizing and lengthening and I also found clumping to be minimal, so it gives good separation.

It does NOT however help with curling your eyelashes more, in my opinion, which is why I deducted one star in my review. It's a great mascara, but it won't solve all our Asian 'eyelash problem areas' ;)

Terrible. It killed my curl and was entirely clumpy. I found it difficult to use, and it balled up on the tips of my eyelashes, too. I tried it on another Korean friend and same results for her.

YES THEY DO! I am Japanese and have the same issue. I used to use L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara because they reeeeally lengthens perfectly. But this mascara not only lengthens but volumizes very smoothly. What I do is use both mascaras and it's twice the effect. ;) Hope that helped!

I wouldn't use this, brush is way too big. Tarts light camera flashes has a smaller brush that would work much better

I think it would work well if applied correctly. My lashed are pretty straight also and I use it all the time. Be sure to curl your lashes 1st before application. Definitely adds volume and good with a lash curler!
