I had a great experience in-store. The Beauty Advisor helped me find the perfect shade using the new Color IQ device. It was a cool experience. She had me take my foundation off, then she checked three areas of my skin (2 on face, 1 on neck), then searched the computer database for the color code that the device returned. We looked through the choices together on the computer screen, and I checked the ingredients on my top choices, and then she applied two different foundations to my face, on on the right side, the other on the left side. So I walked out of the store with two perfectly matched foundations (no one could even tell), to see how they wore the rest of the day, if they made me break out, etc. And she even sent me an email with the full list of color-matched recommendations.
It was a really awesome experience! Turns out, I had been using the wrong shade of foundation the whole time. I highly suggest you try it out for yourself.

Yes, a sales associate found the match for me. I don't know about samples, but I expect they would.
yeah they'll "assist" you If you ask and grab one, since they don't usually "see you" in a busy store, like the one in Beachwood place Cleveland. And basically the BA puts a couple of close shades on your jaw and goes like "get this one". And you'll end up return, trust me.
My advice if don't bother to ask just think about fair light medium and dark, then pick the normal 2 to 3 shades in your color range, then put on your jaw, then walk around 10 mins then look them in the sun, the one that turns out to be invisible is your shade.
No need to ask for sample, just buy one and return after your try. They have a 100% return policy
