I own this liner, and doubt that you could remove it with water alone. It is waterproof and more tenacious than most. It really should be removed with eye makeup remover or something oil-based, to avoid vigorous scrubbing on the thin tissue around the eye area.

As far as I can tell, it's not a brush -- but it's not 'hard.' It's flexible, and it maintains its shape, which makes using it a breeze. No brush separation to worry about.

I had the same problem at first. I use Garnier Fresh Fresh Eye Makeup Remover with a cotton pad. I get mine from a local drugstore but Sephora sells similar ones: Soft Touch Cotton Pads. I leave the pad on my eye for a little to soften up the make up then it usually wipes away a lot easier.

Question
Will this work on the water line?
I currently use Tarte's gel eyeliner that says it's waterproof. I have tried it on my lower water line and it comes off. Also, it smudges sometimes on my upper lid. Will this do the same? It says no transfer, but does it really?

answer 3
I have found this to wear much better than Tarte's pot/crème liners. You do need to give it a few minutes to set (not unlike the MJ pencils). You may want to wait a bit before applying mascara as that seems to be when you open your eyes fully and risk transferring to your brow bone.

I tried to use it on my waterline and it didn't really work. i've never had good luck with true liquid liners on my waterline. Makeup Forever Aqua Black is my go-to for my waterline. Liquid liner with a felt tip, like this one, is better for precision work.

For me, this eyeliner is much better than Stila with the long-wearing aspect. I do have to admit, Stila's felt tip is thinner & does glide on nicely.

answer 2
I've used both Stila and now this pen, and I would never go back to Stila. This pen works great on my upper lash line and even without primer doesn't bleed into any fine lines/wrinkles on my lids. I find it's much more solid and black too, I find Stila's a bit watery.

CaitlinRobson

answer 3
I just returned this and am sticking with the Stila. The Stila does a fantastic job of lasting all day, it's easier to apply, and not an act of desperation to remove at the end of the day like the Marc is.

answer 4
I switched to this from Stila too and I regret it. If it goes on too thick it can feel sticky all day, and the tip of this eyeliner pen starts to fray after awhile of daily use. I'm going straight back to Stila once my Precision Pen runs out.

I would say I do prefer this one slightly, mostly due to the color. This is the most unique, glossy, graphic black I have tried. I also feel that it has lasted me longer without the tube drying out than the Stila.

If I make a mistake I just make the line a little fatter than I normally would. If you're doing the bottom, you can take a q-tip dipped in remover & touch up. It just takes a tiny bit of foundation or concealer off which is easy to reapply.
