You will need makeup remover and even with that it takes a bit to get this off. It's great if you want the makeup to last but I've never been able to get it off with just water alone.

I own this liner, and doubt that you could remove it with water alone. It is waterproof and more tenacious than most. It really should be removed with eye makeup remover or something oil-based, to avoid vigorous scrubbing on the thin tissue around the eye area.

The tip is a brush, but it's a shorter brush than say, a Kat von D so it gives you a ton of control while still allowing you to get a super thin line/

It is more like a makeup brush feel that you use when applying gel eyeliners (from the pot). The texture feels soft but does not deviate from direction being applied.

As far as I can tell, it's not a brush -- but it's not 'hard.' It's flexible, and it maintains its shape, which makes using it a breeze. No brush separation to worry about.

Does anyone think this is beter than stilia stay all day waterproof liner? If so why?

answer 1
I've used both Stila and now this pen, and I would never go back to Stila. This pen works great on my upper lash line and even without primer doesn't bleed into any fine lines/wrinkles on my lids. I find it's much more solid and black too, I find Stila's a bit watery.

answer 2
I just returned this and am sticking with the Stila. The Stila does a fantastic job of lasting all day, it's easier to apply, and not an act of desperation to remove at the end of the day like the Marc is.

answer 3
I switched to this from Stila too and I regret it. If it goes on too thick it can feel sticky all day, and the tip of this eyeliner pen starts to fray after awhile of daily use. I'm going straight back to Stila once my Precision Pen runs out.

I prefer it over the Stila because this seems to be more waterproof and does not transfer when sweating.

I would say I do prefer this one slightly, mostly due to the color. This is the most unique, glossy, graphic black I have tried. I also feel that it has lasted me longer without the tube drying out than the Stila.

Question
Will this work on the water line?
I currently use Tarte's gel eyeliner that says it's waterproof. I have tried it on my lower water line and it comes off. Also, it smudges sometimes on my upper lid. Will this do the same? It says no transfer, but does it really?

This is liquid, I wouldn't use it in my waterline. It doesn't smudge on your top lid though. For my waterline I use the Marc Jacobs pencil. It's amazing

answer 2
I have found this to wear much better than Tarte's pot/crème liners. You do need to give it a few minutes to set (not unlike the MJ pencils). You may want to wait a bit before applying mascara as that seems to be when you open your eyes fully and risk transferring to your brow bone.

answer 6
I tried to use it on my waterline and it didn't really work. i've never had good luck with true liquid liners on my waterline. Makeup Forever Aqua Black is my go-to for my waterline. Liquid liner with a felt tip, like this one, is better for precision work.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on your waterline. The formula is super, super thin and will just run down into your eye like a liquid. It didn't stick to my waterline at all.

I had the same problem at first. I use Garnier Fresh Fresh Eye Makeup Remover with a cotton pad. I get mine from a local drugstore but Sephora sells similar ones: Soft Touch Cotton Pads. I leave the pad on my eye for a little to soften up the make up then it usually wipes away a lot easier.

Somewhat. I find that to get my liner as thin as I like, I have to use the very tip of this, as opposed to the side, and mine is getting a little bit frayed and floppy. I have had it since just before Christmas, and wear it 5 days a week or so.

Marc Jacob products contain Carmine (not to mention Phenoxyethanol...google it), which makes them not vegan and irritating to sensitive peoples. I would be surprised if they didn't test on animals. I'm not vegan but I still don't believe makeup should contain bugs and chemicals and definitely should not be tested on animals.

The Marc Jacobs Collection is a Sephora Original, and none of our Sephora Originals and private label brand Sephora Brand is cruelty free (meaning that the products have never been tested on animals). At Sephora we carry over 200 other brands and we cannot guarantee that all the products from these brands are cruelty free.
